He's a pundit for TenSports these dyas which broadcasts CL matches in my area. The guy's mental!

Did you not read any of the previous comments?

It would only add more weight to the obvious conclusion from those figures if anything.
-
Yeah, Im enjoying how all the Debuchy doubters have suddenly shut up
-
Thats what I was worried about.

Absolute idiot. Haidara trying to come to his rescue.

Our movement off the ball last season and for a lot of this one too has been terrible. Like you said, he's often been just handed the ball with not many options but to go for it himself. Now that our midfield seems to be gelling a bit better and with Tiote and Cabaye looking somewhere close to their best, it will be interesting to see how that affects Ben Arfa's game. Not to mention that added width and pace Remy and Gouffran have provided.
-
Short memories man. Difficult to remember the number of times we've just handed the ball to him and hoped he'd get us out of a sticky situation because we just didnt have any other plan, and the number of times he actually did just that. The concern is that to me he's the type of player who needs to be playing consistently to be at his best. Gouffran and Sissoko have raised their games recently and deserve their place in the side. There's no way I'd be starting someone like Shola over him though. You could argue all you like about Shola holding up the ball but he's hardly ever able to do anything with it once he does have it, and thats where his game starts and ends these days.

I'd like to give Cisse a go too but Im not sure him and Remy in the centre will ever work. Perhaps HBA and Remy on either side of him in a 433? Mind I dont think Pards is going to go with anything close to that line up.

And also because we actually expect to win this.
-
I'd start Dummet, but my point was whoever does replace Debuchy, Santon is the one that will require the most protection. Yikes.
-
I'd have Gouffran covering Santon because Santon's our shakiest defender at the moment.
-
Ben Arfa in for Shola, Colo in for Debuchy. Back to 4 3 3 for this game imo And more of that pressing in midfield please!
-
Three Spurs players, open goal and I think he started behind all of them. Remarkable stuff. Has to be my favourite Nufc defensive moment to date
-
Good thing he was outstanding in the shot stopping area today because his distribution was awful

All amongst comprehensively shrugging off whoever that was trying to follow it up

Seriously? Have nothing against the guy but that would be plain ridiculous!

You could look at it either way, we were failing at retaining the ball or at making two proper passes in a row in the second half. A decent spell of possession up front might have meant less work at the back. Its all hypothetical though. Im not saying Ben Arfa should have been brought on today, I wouldnt have if I was the manager. But in general Ive always been of the view in situations like these you need someone good on the ball who can release the pressure off the back. Its great when you're able to defend a 1 goal lead but with the quality of attack in the league these days those days will be far and few in between.

Really? We needed someone to hang onto the ball desperately in the second half. He's one of the few we've got who can. Krul kept us in it today, wont happen every time.
-
Superb first half. Rubbish second. Well not defensively, but we've got to learn to keep the ball in pressure situations. Loved our pressing on the ball for the goal, almost Dortmund-esque. What a wonderful little buy Gouffran has proved to be, fantastic all round player And the effect Debuchy is having on our defence cannot be underestimated. Wasnt too long ago you could see the 'Simpson is a better defender than Debuchy' comments here 6 points against Chelsea and Spurs. Didnt see it coming after the mackem game! Lets hope we can maintain the intensity in the upcoming fixtures! Delighted about today

Shola starting I now fully expect this to be the game Spurs' attack finally gels together
