  1. He's doing exactly what Carroll should have done if he had really wanted to stay when the club wanted to sell. He's "appearing" to do it, whilst all the while he is, in reality, making it more difficult/unlikely to come to pass. Should be keeping his gob shut until he's gone (one way or the other) moral high ground and all that, he's just playing to the audience IMO.
  2. I didnt say that though. The observations I read were discussing how Bartons influence while channelled positively is good, however a negative Barton could have an eroding influence. Anyone who thinks Bartons comments at talk ins, in the press and now via twitter are positive for NUFC or assisting his chances of staying at the club, are mad. I love Barton as has been evident over time on here but I certainly dont want a sulky, argumentative Barton hanging around. Needs addressing quickly. So you'd rather he swept it under the carpet, took his wages and moved along quietly? Not Barton's way, really. I'm glad Barton has had his say on the matter, no smokescreens, no bullshit just the situation as the player sees it, if people at the club have their own views they are free to air them. I'm sure the local/non local journalists will provide them with a platform. One thing about Barton is that he doesn't seem the type to sit on the fence, it's fairly obvious that there's bad blood between him and the hierarchy and an extra year with a pay cut seems a fair enough compromise to me. (He gets his extra year option, they get the pay cut), but maybe he's not wanted by the big Cheese. There's no conspiracy, the people in charge are, in my opinion, huffy bastards who have deliberately closed a section who occasionally gave them the bird and have strung along some of the younger displaced supporters with vague talk of relocating them together before denying them this opportunity once the final game is out the way and verbal protests are avoided. Barton has had run ins with them so he's out as well. First bold bit - Yes I would, until he was out of contract or sold. He's making his position untenable at the club. It's simply a "negotiating tactic" but designed for him to escape "lillywhite" in the eyes of the fans IMO, but it's not about the money. How far would you get slagging your employer (however much you dislike him/her) in public, there's been plenty of "normal" people sacked for saying inappropriate things on Twitter/Fbook. Second Bold bit - If you had ultimate control and someone (or a collection of someones) was pissing you off, wouldn't you do the same. I would. Although based on threads I've read here and elsewhere isn't just about everyone loosely back together ??
  3. It's the way it is in France, the likes of Lille can't even compete domestically with PSG and Marseille financially. They don't feel sorry for themselves, they just accept it as a fact of life and work within that framework. French clubs can't compete, even at the top end, with EPL, Bundesliiga and Spain etc.
  4. http://www.twitter.com/Joey7Barton/status/74872635107966976 First two words, surely that's good. Third/fourth words, I though he and McKay said it wasn't about the money. Playing a blinder is Joey, pushing all the right buttons to get the fan sympathy yet burning his bridges. Clever boy. hopefully not. Even for money. But it's not about the money. I wonder if he'll demand his "loyalty" money from NUFC or whether his new club will have to pay it, he's rapidly manouvering his position here to be untenable. Yet he supposedly wants to stay for the fans and "I love the club". Bollocks. I'd have liked him to stay btw.
  5. Why does everyone whinge on about that ??? They all fucking do it these days. It's not cheating any more, it's being professional or "clever". Sad but true, and I hate it, but now accept it. Messi is about the only player who religiously rides a tackle (a long lost skill - that, even Leazes may agree with me on), just about every fucker else (and I mean every fucker worldwide) feels a breath of wind and goes down.
  6. French website says it's had a text from Cabaye stating he'd not signed anything yet but would be confirmed after France's Euro games around 10th June http://www.lavoixdessports.com/LOSC/2011/0...attendu-g.shtml Also stated elsewhere he's said his salary will be €300K a month, that's £65K a week !!!!
  7. Even if you press them they can still pass to each other under even the tightest pressure, they seem to be able to manage to pass even when being tackled, unreal at times. As for the Stoke style throw-ins, you'd have to work out a way to get them to knock the ball out of play for that to work.
  8. I think I could watch Barcelona all day, every day, simply outstanding.
  9. that's almost as sad as your intial post which started the thread. And all because I've made you look a complete tit, using your own comments. No reply then ? What a surprise. Which one of the dopes on skunkers are you then ? What do you have to hide Tbf that's a hell of a bite if that's all he was really looking for Just answering people's questions man, you know, until somebody else comes along and says - again - that I never do.....what really happens is I give them the benefit of my vast knowledge, but they don't like what they hear Looks like I was right again, Mad Jock has fucked off and not replied. I've re-read the thread and cannit see them answers mind.
  10. From my French Hoolie mate: Pretty good, young and professional attitude. Be a good signing, he says.
  11. Thing is though, we didn't give a fuck about the finances back then, because, no-one did, it didn't register in your consciousness, it was the gravy train that kept on giving. Then Leeds happened. Small clubs, or rather lower league clubs, had always struggled. No-one disected club accounts or even conceived of "where's the money comming from", it was just there, so must be fine. but all of a sudden, one of the "big boys" went. That made people stop and think and then football finance actually became a topic of conversation, it never had been previously to any great degree. 1. Leeds' slide started 3 years before you made that post. 2. Leeds are nothing to do with us. 3. We are also twice the club Leeds are. Stop making excuses man. When did they go into Admin ?? When did football finance become a topic of interest/conversation/news ?? When I was growing up Leeds and Liverpool were "the" clubs, Leeds demise was BIG news. Excuses for what - I was wrong
  12. From Lille's version/equivalent of the Journal evidently: Yoyan Cabaye bound for Newcastle Under contract until June 2013, Yohan Cabaye has, it seems, reached an agreement with the leaders of Newcastle to finalize details of his future yesterday. The transfer should be completed in the next 10 days. According to our information, Yohan Cabaye is on the verge of joining the club from Newcastle. Yesterday, the player along with his agent met up the bosses from Newcastle, to finalise all the details of his contract. Oh 5Mill Euro release clause supposedly.
  13. Good point Also asked my Metz Ultra hoollie friend for a comment/opinion of the lad.
  14. Posted on the Barton thread a c&p from a Lille newspaper report (translated)
  15. http://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-2.html what y on about man ? y wanna reeboot yaself out of default mode of all this 'who's better who's best , then and now' carry on . i cant be arsed with all that shite - waste of time that y wont get back . i live in the here and now and was refering to the forthcoming summer. (captains log, stardate June 2011. warpfactor 10 aye aye Toonspock) Where'd I engage in that in my post above ??? It's still May btw
  16. http://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-2.html Your relentless slagging of the previous owners is even more irrelevant and tedious than Leazes support of them I don't do that (except when replying to Leazes' nonsense), you may read (misrepresent) that some information I may post is an attack, it's not. That post is simply pointing out, for balance, that fans have always been shat on, it's not a new invention of the FCB. I didn't attack anyone.

  19. That'd be for me. Saw that tour an all (and many afterwards)
  20. As a matter of interest, what do people think Joey's worth a week ??? Given that as per the Daily Telegraph in May last year: Man Utd's average player wage was £55,818 per week Arsenal's was £50,289 per week Scouse murderers was £48,662 per week So Joey's existing reported £60K/week is above average for those three. On the subject of wages etc. This is an interesting read, if a wee bit mumbo jumbo (Chez might like it) http://onfooty.com/2011/05/financial-break...ier-league.html
