Please quote where I stated "most memorable game", you really have lost me. Edit - Do "cuttings" bear a relation to memorable ?? Maybe that's my problem I have no cuttings, or bus tickets for that matter (or I'd know what happened after the Hunters)
-
On the subject of comprehension, there's a difference between "memorable" (your words) and "one sided" (mine), patently not most memorable since I aint remembered it correctly. Could have sworn it was Sheff Utd though, and Currie. Photographic game memory, as I said, is not my strong point and I'm not sad enough to keep cuttings.

"Eye's of the football world" If you don't concede that they are seen/accepted as bigger than us within the game, you are bordering on insane.
-
Went from being a nipper with me dad (mid 60's to early 70's), Ronnie Tatum's sister was our neighbour, until aforementioned Hunters bus and NUFC too over my affections, still went to Shields as and when NUFC were away though. Think it was early 70s. It was after they won the FA Amateur Cup. Before my time like Was 10 (and three quarters) when they won the cup, was there, my dad had done all the games home and away. I was at the semi at Ayresome, 0-0 I think, and the final, great day, special train at stupid o'clock in the morning from West Monskeaton (for some reason).
-
Used to get on in Holywell, had to get off in Whitley and for the life of me I can't remember how we got to town. Think The Deleval to Whitley bus was in fact the North Shields route and we had to change onto another for the rest of the way. Memory dims with age !!! Change at whitley bus station for ye olde 308 surely. Or get off at either West Monkseaton, Monkseaton or Whitley and get the train up to town. Mention of the Hunters bus didn't half get the memories going. Used to get off next to Woolies in Whitley, then changed onto gawd knows what, was there not a Hunters Whitley to town bus that met the Deleval to Shields one ???? Beside Wollies was their stop, weren't allowed in the bus station I think as that belonged to United. Do remember the train sometimes though, used to get off at Manors

There really is no point as your reading comprehension is nil. I've never been to a training session in my life nor did I ever say I had an ST in the 70's, always pay on the gate, work permitting and only centre paddock "if I was flush", otherwise Gallowgate end usually. Were you at that Wrexham game, midweek and howling a gale and pissing down ?? Part timers didn't go out to a game in that weather. I never kept programmes nor have a photgraphic memory of games but remember some things, do you remember Pop Robson scoring direct from a free kick against Arsenal but the ref dissallowed it because George Graham wasn't 10 yards ?? Think we lost 1-0 in the end, could be wrong mind. The most one sided game I ever saw in my life was against Sheff Utd at home, we absolutely mullered them, but lost 4-1, Tony Currie scored a couple, maybe even a hat-trick, I think the 4 goals where the only time they got out of their half, unbelieveable it was. Favourite "old" goal, Tommy Craig left foot (obviously) volley against Spurs at the gallowgate end, was sat right behind it in the "new" stand (must have been really flush that night). You see I really did go a lot pre 92 mate, believe it or not, but it's of no consequence. Finally, like it or not, Liverpool, in the eye's of the football world are currently (and for years have been) a bigger club than us. Indisputable FACT, and I hate them above all others.

Not one answer ever Lot's of piffle mind. Swissramble (for example) a respected independant football finance expert posts on Skunkers does he I suppose getting the Hunters bus as a kid from Seaton Delaval to Whitley then into town to sit at the front of the Gallowgate right behind the goal (looking back a stupid place to watch the match from BTW) doesn't count as being a supporter, neither does most home games in the 70/80's (work permitting) doesn't count either, liked the centre paddock if I was flush and was a great view sitting on the scaffolding/planks that were permanently there for the Shoot camera's. You're such an ubber supporter I'm sure you were there the night the Wrexham game was called off at half time due to the rain and wind (I was and nearly fucking drowned), can you recall the REALLY bizarre event first half, and at which end, concerning the Wrexham keeper ?? That was pre 92 I believe. Anyway I do not have to justify shit to you, you can keep shouting your deluded crap all you want mate. I'm quite happy being objective, blinded by hate, geez BTW Tony Green's testimonial was against Boro (1974), not Sunlun as you stated some time back. I was there, were you ?? Are you sure you were a supporter pre 92.

Says the bloke who NEVER answers a question. Desperate If you say it often enough, it must be true !!!!

Well you can't read then because I did, some pages back, not that it has any relevance at all. You have never answered my question, i.e. where's the money come from. I'm not blindly hating, I'm posting information and facts from a totally independant and qualified source. I'm done with your circular and ridiculous arguments Leazes, I posted the information for someone else, you wouldn't even read the link because there's some harsh truths in it for you. Don't bother quoting this with any follow p comment because I won't reply, there is no point making hand signals to the blind. Some random bloke with a website is hardly a reputable source. The idea the club would have gone bust without Ashley’s money was put around by Chris Mort, since when it’s been taken as gospel despite never being back up with any facts. As had been said numerous times, the majority of PL clubs are carrying some debt. Arsenal, for example, are about £200m in debt and recoded a half year loss recently... are they about to go bust? Some random bloke: "Essential reading about the business of football, with a depth of knowledge that makes it stand well out from the crowd" - The Guardian "Best Niche Website - gets our vote for shedding light on a topic that is at once both essential and alien to the modern football fan – football finance" - Soccerlens "Respected football financial blogger" – BBC I'll take his unbiased word for it, thanks. Arsenal have Champions league money plus over a million a game from the Emirates. We were carrying more than "some debt" we were maxed out, maybe we could have got more finance, but at what cost - one exisiting loan we had we were already paying 11.7% interest. P.S. Your Chris Mort comment is actually addressed in the blog, in terms along the lines of "he would say that wouldn't he" and then there's an independant view from a financier

Chelsea trying everything to bury this story...
Toonpack replied to Craig's topic in Newcastle Forum
Press conference with Ancelotti was fucking hilarious. "He's done it, he's sorry, it was an accident". Righto, accidently picked an air rifle up, pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger I think the blokes a cunt, but as its an air rifle and it was fired on private grounds, the is nothing to answer for....However as he shot someone, then it becomes a matter for the police to investigate, if Chelsea pay the lad off to keep his mouth shut or say they were just messing about, the case will get dropped, if the lad pushes it, then Cole is fucked!! Won't happen, I'm sure some of Mr Abramovich's "friends" will have handed over an envelope with a word of advice or two. -

His latest "look" is at Sunlun, that's a canny read as well

I have literally no defence. What I meant to say was that I don't think the positions are going to change much between now and the end of the season. Bar the bottom five, who will jostle and swap positions like they're playing musical chairs. Liverpool will drop significantly, they really are not very good and the Dalglish boost looks spent. I fucking hope so, anyway !! you mean the 2nd biggest club in the country ? Thats some decline Their trophy signing will be back soon though, and they will finish above us. Yes, I believe Liverpool are "in decline", hopefully a long one.

obsessed. And I'm right. You'll see. The occurrence of which future event/events would prove you 'right'? om fucking god Answer him then I could dig up his old posts, and the idiot knows it. As it bothers you a lot, you look. I'm right already, many times over. Mike Ashley is a cunt. He will never match the halls and Shepherd. Aston Villas "plan" won't match the "planless" Halls and Shepherd. It could be years before someone else equals those champions league and european qualifications. The club is in decline. Mike Ashleys limit of ambition is to survive in the premiership at minimal expenditure and hope to make small profits. He will sell our best players if it needs to be done to achieve this goal. blah blah blah blah....... Oh, I'm also right that he is obsessed, in fact massively obsessed, because he knows he's spouted shit and hasn't got the bottle to admit it. Anyway, I'm can't be arsed bickering with you. Bookmark this thread. Should make interesting reading in the future. So you can't answer him then, is what you're saying He never does

At least spell it right !!! Blimey

I have a feeling he'll be another morientes but more skillfull. Whenever that may be.

Absolutely. Up until last year, there was on old couple used to sit in front of me. If I ever got animated I used to try and keep the swearing down a bit, as on the odd occasion I went too far I'd normally get a clip off the old woman. Anyway, in that game a couple of seasons ago when Martins picked that bird up and took it off the pitch, she spins round, casual as fuck, and announces loudly: 'That's brilliant, isn't it? He's picked that skill up from years of having to chase his dinner about in the sand.' Everyone around us chuckled, possibly in disbelief. Then nothing else was said. Not sure what the reaction would have been if that had been a young lad after a few pints that had said that, mind. Silly old cow. It would have been a Jungle !!!! that's a joke btw

I would interpret his limited ambition to be due to the fact that he’s in for over £100mill – all his own fault admittedly. Of course the club “should” have built on it, but they didn’t. BUT to say because they didn’t build on it means it was worth nowt is ludicrous, it was the last major thing we won, so to me it was the highest of the high anytime since, the game is about winning stuff after all. First Bolded bit, no I can’t say for certain BUT based upon the way the world has turned I cannot conceive of where they could have got the money from, they certainly didn’t have it themselves. Second bolded bit – KK said he’d have sold him, anyway how many times has he played since ???? Oh bloody hell man, it’s a label, you and me both know I mean the “regime” FFS was the face/embodiment of said regime. Sadly success begets “bigness” within the game. We didn’t get the success of winning despite the “whiff” of it and despite the if’s and if only’s, by any measure you want to use Liverpool have been and are still considered a bigger club than us. Any player given a fair choice with all things being equal would choose them over us just now (and for some time past) Very sad but true. I am fully aware that NUFC is a massive club in any measure in all but the one that counts and that’s winning stuff, sadly clubs we could overtake in the “bigness” stakes have won lots of stuff and as such are considered bigger. Especially now as qualifying for the Champions league and it’s money are the new “winning things”, we missed that financial boat (or rather fell out of it). As for my “support” – not that it’s relevant, some years all home games 70’s mainly and 80’s never religiously, some years half a dozen games maybe, since first game in 1969, I only ever had a season ticket after KK came back as a manager because the Mrs bought me it because she was pissed off how early I had to leave the house to get into the ground to “pay on the gate”. Plenty of gaps in attendance due to work and I’ve seen days when me and my mates tossed a coin on whether to go in or go to the pub, the game lost sometimes. Not my be all and end all by any stretch. No they’re not cherry picking because they actually won stuff for heavens sake which added to their reputation and expectation, the winning of LOTS of stuff also created their “bigness”. Just look at the size of the sponsorship deals the buggers get, 2nd only to Man U. I really can’t get that emotional about it all to “hate” anyone, there’s a lot more to life than football to be honest, and I’ve felt that way for many years.
-
I have no "irrational hatred" and I certainly don't cherry pick, I'm talking about the trends evidenced by what I saw in the last several years of the previous ownership and the facts that have since emerged. At that time, did I think Shepherd (the face of the organisation) should bugger off, absolutely, was I worried about administration etc. at that time, as you keep saying I was, no I didn't even consider it a possibility BUT the books have shown we were in fact in deep financial shit, that's another fact, not cherry picking. Do I think Ashley is great, not in the slightest. BUT you cannot fully judge his tenure yet, time may prove he was the biggest disaster to hit NUFC in history, the current signs (despite his multitude of horrendous gaffes) don't point to that "yet" though. If anyone "cherry picks" it's you, harping about a time that was long gone and refusing to look at anything that followed, the "pinacle", objectively. Interestingly you even denigrate winning the Fairs Cup as a high spot for NUFC, do you even remember how significant that competition was in those days, have a look at who was in it, all the best of Europe excepting the league champions. You can't even accept the facts of life of the modern game. For example, as of today, and for some time, within the game (and without for that matter) Liverpool are considered a bigger club than us (you seem to think they are not). Sadly, without them having another few years of mediocrity they will continue to be considered such for a while yet. That's not a cherry it's a FACT (a bitter one at that, as I despise them more than any other team).
