1. Luque certainly wasn't math-fit. Some good runs and control. Shame he gave it away and that free-kick, the less said that better.
2. Should have had a penalty. Clear handball from McFadden on the goaline. Red-card offence.
3. I found this article while looking for one about Boumsong which was in the article yesterday, but haven't had any luck. Anyway, in that one, Souness became a complete parody of himself, it was quite amusing really. He defended Boumsong to the hilt, basically saying his defensive incompetence was due to personal problems in his life, and the fact that he was partnering inexperienced kids in Taylor and Ramage. He went on to say that Boumsong was "a proper person, a proper footballer". And he makes mistakes because he is a "proper professional". The bottom line is that Boumsong will continue to get played no matter how poor his performances are. Unbelievable really, sick of having this dickhead as a manager. 61451 Yeah umm, he's the vice-captain at the moment as well. Just give it to Parker or even Owen (who is for England). Could do a much better job surely... 61488 I think Parker would be our perfect captain, and hope he takes it on soon. 61511 I think he seems the right man for it. Boumsong has no leadership qualities, and it just heaps more pressure on him.
4. It's a brilliant ploy from the manager. Boumsong gets injured after slipping over, and on comes Amdy Faye to bolster our attacking force. I'm routing for a 6-5 win.

6. Love the idea of having no defensive cover on the bench. Positive football, way to go Souey.
7. He recently got dropped from the Spanish side, so he can't be all that.
8. It'd be interesting to watch Crouch play at SJP. Souness will be bemused once he notices he didn't fall over once.
9. Should sign him on loan. With a view to a permanent move...
10. Probably rubbish then, with the exception of him being foreign, making him so much more exciting than somebody British of the same ability...
11. As quality player he is... I would hope we didn't sign him, unless some tycoon similar to Mr Abramovich suddenly took over our club. Of course, he's not gonna come anyway, so no worries.
12. As proper a player he is, he could also easily have a row with Souness, so effectively making him not a proper player.
13. I reckon about 3 is a sensible choice tbh.
14. Other news: www.skysports.com Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has revealed that young defender Peter Ramage has caught the eye of England coach Sven Goran Eriksson. Ramage has risen from obscurity to secure a regular starting berth for Newcastle and he has impressed with some mature displays. Eriksson took a first hand look at Ramage at the weekend and even though The Magpies were beaten by Chelsea, the England chief enquired about the young defender. "Sven asked me who young Ramage was and said that he thought he had had a very good first half," said Shepherd. "We felt that he did okay in the second half as well and the fact that his direct opponent Damien Duff scored was no reflection on him. "Obviously he has only played a handful of games for us, all out of position, but we are delighted with him and I told Sven this."
15. I know a Swiss person. He's cool. Erm...
16. Dude, he can score more than Crouch without trying. Obviously that was really a pretty awful cross.
17. It occurs to me he wasn't even that good last season. He was a bit sloppy and sluggish, and only a few times did he prove why he is first-choice for France (like the first 20-odd minutes against Manure, before characteristically slipping over). He's a proper player though, which makes all the difference in the long run... They all say it's lack of confidence and the guy doesn't want to let down the team. He needs to toughen up and face life in the Premiership, otherwise his bad form (if it even is that) will become permanent.
18. Souness had better start buying some new defenders in January. And I mean young, talented defenders, no need for "experience" - as in the shape of Lundekvam, Moore etc. The sad thing he won't. He loves his Boumsong too much, being a "proper" player n'all, so he'll always start, and what's more is vice-captain. But Yogic I think it's fair to say Bramble was more shocking. And Parker's class. Ledley King? Not sure about his distribution for starters...
19. Souness has got to go and sort the team out. He can't just say Boumsong will always be a centre-back as a proper player etc, or make excuses about the pitch at Stanford Bridge, in addition to SJP...
20. So quite clearly, we must be joking with this defence to aim for a top-6 finish.
21. Reached the first hurdle. Parker sounds excellent, and Shola giving Terry a tough time. Boumsong sounds a bit shaky.

23. Hmmm.... I should hope so but many rumours seem to suggest otherwise.
