The only way the majority of players can stay at a football club for years is through having respect for the managers. For example Arsenal had brought in Veira, Henry, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Gilberto etc from abroad and these guys actually stay at the club. The reason is they have such a great and respectable manager. We want Newcastle to have a bunch of players who'd be long-term members and heroes of the club, not people who'd come and then leave a year or two later because they had an argument with their manager or don't want to play for a failing team.

Curbishley's a top manager, but to be honest I don't see him leaving Charlton.
-
Good news then, I think surely they'll let him go now? Hopefully he won't be put off by Souness's comment: "Luque will make double figures but he's not a 20-goal man. I think we'll have to bring a couple in"
-
God knows, probably get a mixed reception as befits the split in fans when he was here. I did notice that for Portsmouth he scored a goal and set up an easy chance that was missed yesterday, if we'd had that against West Ham we could have snatched an undeserved win! 15610[/snapback] That's what I thought, he's pleased the fans and contributed well. He forced himself to thank them as well, in his own fashion.

Hahaha, awesome. How badly will Robert get booed when we play Portsmouth?
-
Babayaro looked alright actually - cleared the ball off the line, saving a lot of embarassment there. Carr can attack fairly well, shame he can't defend.

United] 5: Neville G [Chelsea] 6: Lampard [blackburn] 7: Gamst Pedersen [Charlton] 8: Murphy [Arsenal] 9: Fabregas [Tottenham] 10: Defoe [Charlton] 11: Bent Subs [West Ham] 12: Carroll Goalkeep- er [Newcastle] 13: Ramage Defender [Liverpool] 14: Welsh Midfield- er [Aston Villa] 15: Moore Forward

Well then it's a good thing we booted him off to Newcastle United Rejects FC. There's already 4 there, and in response they give us Amdy Faye.
-
Still we'll be bottom of the Premiership without having scored a goal by then.
-
Wow, I'm a "Phil K" too, fascinating eh? Sorry, just wanted to comment on this wonderful observation.
-
No worries, it does. So this guy is a right-sided player but favours centre-forward role. If he's not played much that could affect his performance up front. I heard he scored 30 goals in 100 games - I don't know how many games up front though.
-
How much is a euro worth again? I assumed it'd be more like 7.5 million pounds.
-
I'd be content with whoever we sign personally. Just hope we don't pay £15 million then sell the player for £2 million the next year after a disappoiting season.
-
Good news. He's a promising player, at 19 I reckon a potential regular in the England defence. One of the positive things that have come out of Souness would be Taylor's development.
-
He then explains not saying anything doesn't work because Jenas's tackle was perfectly acceptable and shouldn't even be a yellow card, whether it will be reviewed again or not.
-
Lee Bowyer's leg will accidentally come in contact with another player after a mistimed tackling.. No warning is issued, but 5 months later Newcastle police will claim they heard reports of a Newcastle player brutally attacking another player and will appear in court.
-
Les Ferdinand will re-sign for Newcastle after a striker crisis. Freddy Shepherd will sell Jenas to Spurs for an undisclosed fee and will use the money to buy an Extra Value Meal at McDonalds. Shortly later the club will become bankrupt. Ameobi gets injrued after falling over and has a row with Souness because he won't play injured in a Carling Cup match against a non-league side.
-
He'll be gone soon probably anyway, and hopefully they'll think more about the manager. Souness was already experienced at arguing with his players at Blackburn, however he did have a successful season with Blackburn, who were an average team and finished 6th.
-
I hear Luque's been unsettled at Deportivo, so it's not surprising if he wants to move. And didn't they have a poor season last year, 11th wasn't it? Say if we were top 3 material again we'd be looking at much better strikers, and maybe even succeeding!

Campell,cisse,anelka,kanoute,and vaina is back!
TheInspiration replied to nufc1984's topic in Newcastle Forum
Oh dear, I think this highlights the failure and desperation of Newcastle. A late bid to snatch Kanoute, FFS... -
I'd like that but obviously the chances would be quite slim, especially when you look at the standard of other teams linked to him and the strong Spanish connection Liverpool have.
-
Souness in for Andres D'Alessandro?
TheInspiration replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I would love some fresh talent... but as it stands a strikeforce is our main priority and I am sure there are other strikers than a flop who falls out with managers and easily becomes unsettled wherever he is (I doubt he'd change with Souness). Or a decent Portuguese attakcer, that is if you can call him that, as he's more of a left-winger. First post, wooo, awesome...
