  1. Swansea v Stoke was a hell of a game. The handball decision against Routledge was shocking. Referee was Robert Madley, everytime I've watched him, he does something inexplicable. There are a few at the top level that make regular horrible mistakes.
  2. Collo to return, MYM to left back and Santon to RB.
  3. I'd like to know what the crack is with the bonus sheet. Are we to assume that they were looking for a blanket amendment to bonuses which superseded what was in contracts?
  4. Hoping someone has come across this before. We've uploaded an animated GIF on the front page of our website at work. We use them on inside pages and have no problem. The front page GIF is either running slow or not displaying at all in Chrome. The problem usually resolves with a refresh. Anyone seen this before/aware of a fix?
  5. The shopping experience in SD is like the flying experience with Ryanair. Space is maximised, you feel like the staff have no time for you and that you are constantly being upsold. No I do not want an enormous bag for 70p, even if it does comes your free magazine.
  6. I'm not sure what Williamson needs to do. He's a very ordinary footballer, but he's a good defender and we look more solid with him in the side. M'Biwa and Collocini's 1st half display at Everton will live long in the memory as some of the most horrid defending I've seen by any NUFC defensive partnership. For me either Williamson or Taylor need to be in the side, neith Collo or M'Biwa attack the ball. At the moment Williamson deserves to be in the side on merit.
  7. He's not going to budge until he's got all his money back. Ironically we might be better off all buying a set of strips, six half time pints and a tour of the stadium.
  8. He scored some very important goals last season, but that doesn't make him a good player. For me, he doesn't make great decisions, he doesn't make great goal scoring runs. Negrado's run last was a goal scorers run, Cisse doesn't make those. As you allude to, we don't get high enough up the pitch to provide better service, so he does tend to feed on scraps. Good point, add that lot in and he has a reasonable tally
  9. I think the fundamental problem is that he's a very ordinary footballer. I believe he went on an outstanding run of luck when he joined. He scored ridiculous goals, not predatory goals. To me, he's never looked like a striker who will get goals regularly over an extended period. Offside is not the only problem, he can't hold the ball up, or pass the ball 10 yards, or control the ball with any kind of regularity. Not ideal when you are trying to can't play with one up.
  10. Yeah, they built the suspense really well. Greengrass was a good choice as director, he practically makes you feel seasick.
  11. Watched Captain Phillips last night. Great movie and a vehicle for Hanks to turn in his most impressive performance in 10+ years.
  12. It's the Ed Miliband Nazi Father thing again. The headlines aren't supportive and the journos obviously don't write them.
  13. If you put it in the terms she outlines, 0.6% of the people who attended the game, less than a third of those expected, should an objective press not be questioning the level of discontent/asking questions about apathy? The problem for NUFC (which Luke Edwards alludes to) is that NUFC sells papers. So if the press can pick up stories that put it on the front and back pages they will.
  14. Whichever way you look at it, a position in the press office at NUFC is a thankless task. Getting players to speak to the media is like herding cats. The amount of egos she'll have to deal with is phenomenal. Nevertheless, it's her job to improve coverage for NUFC. She is right that the coverage is disproportionate. If she sits back and takes it on the chin then she's not doing her job. Banning journalists in itself is not particularly new (or newsworthy) - see Fergie, Harry Redknapp and NUFC on a number of occasions in the past. My guess is that the press pack will be allowed in by the end of next week and may think twice about the level of balance to the coverage the next time there is a march - in which case she will be praised by her employers.
  15. Do NUFC think that the level of participation in the march is an indication that the remaining fans are supportive? Ashley has never paid any attention to what the fans think and probably never will. Truth is most just feel marching would be a waste of their time, might as well have a pint instead, at least that way the football seems more palatable.
  16. Saw him at the U21s in reading a few weeks back. Looks strong, fast and skilful. Reminded me of a young Ronaldo in that he spent too much time pulling tricks, but if like Ronaldo he can cut some of those out he'll be quality.
  17. That's because that's what we've enjoyed in the past (at times). As far as the trend, I think it's probably to do with the vast amounts being spent on forwards and a smaller investment in defenders. Every team now has some players capable of creating chances. The ease at which Sunderland were able to dictate play (and create good chances) against ManU on Saturday night was a case in point.
  18. You're right, more so than ever. West Brom winning at OT, West Ham winning at Spurs. Fewer goals than ever before. It's a cliche, but every game is difficult, nobody bosses games for 90 mins and no team is going to run away with the league.
  19. If we'd won those two games we'd be third!!
  20. Pardew has a selection headache for Liverpool game. I think MYM is probably a better bet against Suarez and Sturridge, but Williamson has looked largely solid. If we play Colo and MYM together I can see any side just playing straight balls over the top and waiting for it all to go spectacularly wrong. One or other has to start commanding in the air.
  21. Taken 2 and Argo. One was as bad as the other was good...
  22. I saw that, I was wondering where Sissoko was and the camera panned back to find him on half way!!! He has been awful all season for me. There was a moment right at the end of the game when he was fairly tackled on the edge of the box, we still had possession and he stayed down pulling his socks up for about 20 seconds until the opportunity was gone. I'm screaming for him to get up and recognise the urgent need for an equaliser.
  23. He did, quite why there was no one trying to follow it in is beyond me. 30 yards from goal middle of the posts, there is only one thing he's going to do.
  24. If you are looking for a deal always talk to the disconnection people as they have more leverage. I phoned up sky cos my router was knackered, I asked for a free router but the customer services advisor said they couldn't send one out and I'd have to pay 35 quid, which seemed a bit steep when the total package is 60 quid a month. I signed up to Virgin on principle, when I phoned sky back to cancel they said at they could send out a router no problem!
