  1. What were you doing in Crewe? General navvying (sp?) for a glazing firm. Fucking shite job but I was young and stupid at the time
  2. I could, providing I gave her some cash to go shopping on her own, she'd prefer it that way. In fact, she'd probably prefer it that way even without thwe bribe. I was thinking he was leaving her in Newcastle? Surely mission impossible?
  3. Thats what you call plausible deniability. Yes. And also I find it might strange that on both days...ie 7/7 and 9/11 there were exercises going on to prevent the very same type of attacks. A few months ago, we had a fire drill at work. Two hours later, one of the fryers set on fire and set the ansul system off and we had to evacuate in the car park. Two months later, the owners of the company put Little Chef into liquidation and it was only a last minute deal with another company which kept Little Chef open. I now believe that the two owners, in order to try and gain some insurance money, tipped off the cook to burn down the building and kill the 8 customers we had in at the time. (this did actually happen by the way) Must have been one of the busier ones. I love finding the old Little Chef's where someone has taken over and literally only changed the sign and menus. Everything else is the same
  4. I made my choices (Stoke and Crewe) on the basis of going out on the one night and not finding one place you would want to drink in, let alone find out the prices/clientelle snobbishness/blart ratio. That and the pervasive depressing feel/architecture of the place, coupled with the eerily empty streets on a friday/saturday night.
  5. I'm dying to join this thread but I haven't got a clue what LM's point is
  6. Why??? If they did get seriously involved (which I have my doubts about) I reckon they'd quickly be one of the best sides in the world. I thought they were already 4th or something daft in the world rankings before the World Cup? Obviously down to differences in the different regions, but still, hardly shite is it? They were top 10 iirc, as were Mexico by virtue of their being in CONCACAF presumably and winning almost all of their 'competitive' matches. I meant they'd be genuine World Cup contenders which, in all honesty, they simply aren't at present. They do pretty well already but they aren't in the class of the likes of Brazil, Italy, Argentina, etc. They would be if it usurped one of the top 3 sports over there I reckon. Given population sizes combined with footballing heritage I think Russia dissapoints most. Probably something to do with all the snow I wasn't suggesting I was disappointed with the USA being just alright Go Team! It would be yet another former colony screwing us over at a game we invented...

  8. Ironic now that he's probaby already fucked off home
  9. Aye done that loads. Just told some old bat I had bowel problems when she asked where i'd been! It only really works in large places where you aren't usually supposed to be in one place
  10. I've been coloring in a spreadsheet of contact numbers, putting nice borders round stuff and looking through here... I'm getting sacked soon aren't I? I was going to suggest sorting PC files, but you need to keep away from stuff on the PC, but it's too obvious when suspicions of loafing are about. You can also waste time labelling stuff, making notices etc, there's always tatty shite in the office that needs renewing Whatever you do do, make sure it somehow improves your lot for when you do actually do your job, doing anything else is a bit daft really
  11. bloody civil servants, no wonder the country is up the shi**er ! too right hun There's always privatisation
  12. Can't you just tidy up or do some filing? Always worked for me, a brainless activity that makes that last 30mins fly by. Failing that, go and hide in the bogs and play snake (on your phone ), I started doing that in the dark days towards the end of one of my most hated jobs

  14. Just try and cover up the fact you're pissed at work would be my suggested strategy for you
  15. When I said Stoke I had another one in the back of my mind aswell but I couldn't for the life of me pull it out of my brain It was Crewe!!!
  16. So you promised your old lady a day out shopping and a show in London, but you're sacking her off for a piss-up? Are you John McCrirrick? Who else could ever get away with that?
  17. I would have accepted Jesus before he turned my life to shit for being a heathen
  18. Well, then the FA are in breach of FIFA rules....
  19. So it would appear Parky on the one hand spends most of his time questioning the accepted constructs, but on the other, subscribes to Patrokles's ignorance is bliss mindset when it comes to the big questions.
  20. No titty though. If it's drawings in book form, it's a comic mate. Just like Watership Down isn't a 'graphic film', it's a cartoon. I refuse to accept that a 'cartoon' scares the bejeezus out of me
  21. The fact they basically trashed Troy and implied this was the first period film since Gladiator has got my hackles firmly up. This bastard's gonna have to be good to impress me now
