BMW Magnetic Tow Technology 01/04/2009 BMW’s award-winning EfficientDynamics programme has been taken to the next level with the announcement of an innovative fuel and emissions saving system called Magnetic Tow Technology (MTT). In a bid to retain its World Green Car of the Year crown, BMW will launch MTT across its range today. The unique system, developed in conjunction with NASA, works via a discreet unit located in the front valance that projects an enhanced magnetic beam 20 metres in front of the BMW. Once a suitable target car is located and the BMW is magnetically locked on behind it, the driver is then able to take his foot off the accelerator, turn off the engine and let the car in front do all the work. The towing car will not notice any change in manoeuvrability. The BMW driver can unhook from the towing car at any time by depressing the clutch pedal to start the vehicle. This is the same method used to operate the existing Start Stop system. Drivers of automatic transmission BMWs need only move the lever into the ‘D’ position to continue on their way. Early research indicates that MTT could save as much as 30 per cent in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Gurus from BMW’s in-house driving etiquette guide suggest flashing the car in front and giving a friendly hand gesture to thank them for the free ride. BMW’s Head of Innovation, Dr Noitt All, a specialist in Kinetic Ride And Propulsion, said: “BMW has always been a leader in the application of the very latest automotive technology. Up until now the EfficientDynamics programme has looked at ways of improving the performance of our own products, but we thought why burn your own fuel when you can burn someone else’s?” The 56-year-old boffin promised more to come from his innovation workshop but in the meantime recommended people email his colleague uve.vollenvorit@bmw.co.uk to be kept abreast of further developments. For more product information please call 0800 777 119.

It's make or break this season imo. You can forget about rebuilding in the foreseeable if we don't stay up and I can't see him being here next year, should that happen. And there's a good chance he won't be here next season regardless. I think we've got a fighting chance of staying up now though. We've been given the best chance possible. What fucks me off is the brain-dead fuckwits calling into phone-ins calling us delusional Geordies totally losing perspective and expecting us to walk the league. They're fucking clueless man. -
They said the whole kit would cost £75. It'll be shorts and socks too. Still a fucking rip off mind....

Only a sheet-metal worker's son iirc? Perhaps his old man can stick some sheets of metal over that Sports Direct sign on the gallowgate tbh... -

I'm by no means confident... but I think Ashley has played his best possible card by appointing Shearer. Make no bones about it, the task is monumental. In 1992 Keegan had 16 games to save us. Shearer only has half that number. FWIW I think Kinnear, Hughton & Calderwood will all be on their way. JFK is talking about a DOF role but we've seen proof that he's a bullshitter on far too many an occasion. They won't peddle Kinnear because it will seem harsh given his health grounds (not that I'd care that much personally). The others staying depends on whether Shearer brings anyone else in. It's hardly peddling him... He only has a contract til the end of the season anyway. -

If it was an April Fool gag, there'd only be the odd media source reporting it. BBC have it on their main news site FFS and this is news out of Sky Sports. -

It's shades of what KK did in 1992 IMO, just a bit later into the season and with our predicament slightly better. If he does keep us up, I hope to fuck they get him on a decent contract for next season. There's a hell of a lot of work to be done. Rob Lee in too? -

Would suggest why the media has been swirling around the rumours that Wise is on his way - it's the only way Shearer would take the job IMO. Very late in the day though. -
tbf you didn't really need any help on that one...

Lord Anthony? He'll be too young to remember that brand man.... Most kids of the 80s had one of those coats IIRC

Aye the HTML thing is a bit of a disappointment but then again I use it as a business phone and the emails that do come through as HTML tend to be shite anyway.
