Almost 90 mins of complete controlling football, lovely to watch and combined with hard work and graft from all 11 players. At 3-0 up near the end Ben Arfa was still chasing back and winning balls in the fullback position despite the fact he was roaming around the pitch in attack, summed up the team ethic for me, and summed up how Ben Arfa is doing now. Krul needen't have turned up which is nice, Cabaye was outstanding, Ben Arfa unplayable and Ba despite being desperate for a goal continues to put the team first and looks for the pass even though a shot is on which speaks volumes. And when Pardew made a sub, Perch comes on and fist touch is to save a goal, it was one of those days, and Perch followed that with another accomplished display, i'm sure Pardew has swapped him for a different player as in this recent run of games he's played you have to say he's been impressive and has earned a crack at staying here next season to see what he does.

So who actually thinks we will finish 4th?
Papa Lazaru replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I can easilly see us finishing 4th, 5th or 6th to be honest, but my big worry is we finish 4th and fucking chelski spawn the CL and cost us a place in it! But as people have said, Spurs are struggling and Chelsea have a heavy fixture list so we have a very good shot at 4th because of that added to the confidence we are currently playing with. Be even better if arsenal were to drop a few clangers and slip up near the end and make it so we have a sneaky shot at 3rd! And as much as i hate manu winning anything, ever, i think it would suit us nicely if they win the title at citeh and leave us facing a beaten and down citeh in our home game who hopefully are shot to pieces and don't really turn up! I'm going to go for us definitely finishing top 4 if we beat wigan, and even if not we still have a shot. -
Commentator said "Well, he wouldn't have picked suddenly that up at Man U, perhaps Aston Villa teach their players to do that." Unbelievable Did he really say that? That is beyond a joke and if i was Villa i'd threat him/sky and try and get the cunt sacked for slander. IS there no depths they'll stoop to, to avoid every saying manu do anything wrong?

I want to keep all our best players but i think of the big saleable assets, Tiote would be the one we could replace best with a bit of luck. Krul is heading into the bracket of the very best keepers out there and that is worth so many points and i don't think we could attract another keeper of that calibre ahead of proven CL clubs etc. so losing Krul is pretty much top of the list to avoid for me. Also i don't think replacing BA will be easy at all as some people think, if we remember quite how amazing he's been this season and carried most of our goal threat on his own for some time. With the clause we wouldn't get big money for him and we'd be very lucky to get somebody close to him without a seriously big spend.
-
It says alot that i doubt i could settle on just three so will pick three off the top of my head and go with that: The whole Stoke game, but especially Raylor and Simpson taking the piss with the towel and Pulis spitting his dummy at it Manu 3-0 at home, owed them a beating for god knows how long The Liverpool match as thanks to dalglish, suarez and their fans everyone has remembered why they used to be so hated And lets be honest i could easilly have picked either Ben Arfa wonder goal, Raylor vs mackems etc etc. and if we manage to get into in the CL then the goal that does that will top the lot!

I don't think he's likely sulking at not being the centre of attention, he will be unhappy at being subbed as any footballer should be. The problem is happy or not, with a clause for just £5m any number of clubs should be in for him as at that price its not a gamble so i do worry about it. If it was £15m or maybe even £10m they'd have to think about it, but not £5m. However Pardew has done nothing wrong as the decisions to sub him were right imo.

Newcastle United V Bolton Wanderers Easter Monday Kick Off 3pm

The two linesmen today seemed to be bricking it after the Chelsea linesman got (rightly) criticised as they were favouring the defences on every marginal offside and even ones that clearly weren't. -

He has earned us alot of points this season, he makes the big saves at key moments and gives us the platform to go and win/hold on when ahead. If he didn't make the save, we're 1-0 down and hadn't made their keeper break sweat so it would have been a big ask to win from there. -
Way too gifted for it to ever be in question, just needed time and games, helped recently by a formation change as well to show everyone he's one of the most talented players out there. What amazes me the most is not just the skills he shows but the speed he does it at, he's faster with the ball than most players are without it!

Moment of magic that few players can dream of attempting got us the game, but some astute subs from Pardew helped as Ferguson improved us and Shola helped kill the game. Also becoming very noticeable that Williamson is confident again, he now wants the ball and is relatively comfortable on it rather than treating it like a grenade, good to see as he's a steady player when on form. Colo just looked like he'd never been away as well. -

don't think so, not 100% sure like Todays chron has Pardew saying he won't make it pretty much, and Pardew is talking up Raylor and Gosling to fill the midfield gaps if injuries aren't overcome. Still i fancy a win with Ba getting back amongst the goals. -
Great result, Ben Arfa outstanding and fair play to Perch, i'd have started with Santon but he had a very good game for me. Disturbing though that Colo goes off and the defence falls apart for 20 minutes or so.
-
This is all i've wanted, our best footballers out there being told to knock it about and the goals have come, and beautifully worked goals too. Credit to Pardew for his tactics today andlong may he keep them this way.
-
Either the manager tells them to do it, or they are going against his instructions so he tells them to stop or starts making changes, it always comes down to the boss, whether its his plan or he allows them to continue against his plan.
-
Because we didn't play that way to begin with, we mixed it up nicely and were getting the best out of him, with clear results, then as time has gone on we have blatantly all seen more and more long ball stuff which is pointless as proven every time we switch back to passing it and look a different side. It makes it worse that Pardew isn't actually a longball manager and has signed players to play football in midfield and up front, then starts increasingly have us twat the ball up long wastign the players we have.
-
Should have been Santon for Perch at fullback, assuming Pardew isn't insane enough to repeat the complete mess of Jonas at LB with Cabaye in front of him at LW which saw Norwich have a field day down that side. Other than that i'm very pleased to see Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse all start together again and if we pass it about and don't punt it long we could see a few goals.
-
This for me. He looks in good nick and certainly is putting a good shift in every match, but Pardew's stupid hoofball tatcics waste both strikers and with him deeper he gets less shots at goal at the moment. Were we playing better passing football him being deep would still see more than enough chances come his way and as said the Norwich 'keepers save was class. Its really annoying seeing Pardew waste both strikers by having the ball punted up to them over and over, because as soon as we play some football, either the odd move in the midst of long balls or by him switching tactics (eg. mackems 2nd half) we look a serious threat. Ba with his all round game and Cisse with his pace and eye for timing runs perfectly.
-
If Pardew starts the game playing football instead of hoofing it up until it (yet again) becomes obvious that doesn't work, and doesn't have them playing too deep i'm confident of a win today, with Ben Arfa having a cracking game as i think this might be the first time in ages when he feels he won't be dropped for any mistake so he won't try and do everything at once, he's play relaxed and free.
-
You go with your own experience in life, they're mackems, so its natural to expect most people touch up little kids!
-
The clever ones wouldn't bite. Graeme Swann is doing likewise, joining in with Taylor and pointing out it winds up the mackems so he can weed them out and block them on his twitter! Good to see their fans as "classy" as ever wishing injury on people as usual.
-
Yeah, if it wasn't a 'loveable cockney geezer' like him or Venables then the media would be going apeshit from start to finish. However i agree with the post about Pardew that was getting dismissed straight away on here, i reckon he's probably 2nd favourite behind Redknapp (if our season ends decent) as they want an English boss and there are very few out there worth having or proven. And as much as nobody thinks Pardew is a world beater, he has us stable, playing well and the last thing this club needs is a load more upheaval and change with god knows who as Ashley/Derek's next choice as boss!
-
Obviously deliberate and he has done that sort of thing before. The first time he catches him isn't deliberate its momentum, he then follows through with his other leg and its clearly intentional. Neville and Souness had it right, it was a totally unnatural way to have moved in that situation by accident and that he is a car crash waiting to happen. He'll either win them the title or lose them it, because if the ref had done his job he's off and they might have lost, instead he wins them the game.
-
We seem to have a problem with quick forwards running in behind. West Brom was another example where our centre backs weren't quick enough to play such a high line. Pardew would do well to notice the trend. Its has become a pattern that whenever we've played the highline we've been taken apart, hope we don't see it again, it doesn't suit us and our defence has looked decent this season when not instructed to play that way for me.
-
I may be wrong but at the time i felt he jumped up and went for their player because he was furious (rightly) with the tackle, but once the adrenalin wore off he realised he was in pain and hit the deck. He certainly wasnt trying for a freekick or anything as the ref had already given it.

QPR were woeful and the first 20 mins from us was as bad as we've been all season, until Ben Arfa came on and we actually got some life into the team/crowd and played some semblance of football. And once we did, we scored an excellent goal with good build up play and top notch skill from Best. I didn't think Wright-Phillips could get less end product to his game but he's managed it! And their finishing is just not good enough at this level and it shows. Also noticeable is that straight away Hughes has done what he always does, make his teams dirty, cynical bastards like he was as a player, hope they go down now.
