Jesus Christ thats disgraceful, had no idea i did that and its unforgivable quite frankly, i can only apologise to the lad that we went there with as he was really nice and looked after everybody. I will of course pay for anything that needs paying for next time i see anyone who can pass it on. And after that i think i'm going to avoid mixing my drinks ever again as thats twice in a row i've doen that and got way too pissed to remember anything.

Sad but true, theres a group of supporters who revel in it, they'll boo at half time, full time at individual players and the prime example is the Dyer situation where its more important to these people to show him how much they hate him then it is to provide and uplifting atmosphere for him and the rest oft he team to try and help them win. Its never going to go away unfortunately, even if we went on a great run of wins, the second a poor draw or defeat came along the booing would be there, just not as loud as if it was shit every week.

I heard it at the end of the match and they're fucking morons who can piss off and not return quite frankly. Waste of space and as somebody said earlier its the exact problem Big Sam had mentioned. It wasn't near the levels of last season but it was audible and was directed at the team not the ref, who was annoying to be fair. I see that Viduka has inherited Shearer's crown in the sense that everything he does is apparently a foul, but anything done to him is allowed to go unpunished. At one point he got hit in the face with the defenders hand and the ref then penalised Vidkua for handball or something!

I'm going for a win, possibly by 2 goals with Smith getting the first,
-
Exactly! Big Sam said he hasn't really had a pre-season and isn't ready to play just yet and Sam didn't wnat to throw him in early and have people criticise if he wasn't reaching the standards he'll be capable of at 100%. Compare that with a Souness/Roeder who would as you say chuck a player on the pitch as soon as they got to the ground!

Mark Taylor? I didn't think he had joined us yet. I'm sure i read an article or interview, possibly in one of the local papers where his name was mentioned in relation to something at the club and i thought it was strange as it had never been announced he'd arrived. So i guessed it must have just been an arrival without any fuss since he's not a big player singing or anything. It was literally just one line in the midst of somethign else, but i can't remember what or where from now!
-
Great chance to give a run out to a few players who won't have featured much by then, especially the new players and hopefully 1 or 2 more new signings on top of that. Obviously won't play a reserve side but a good chance to mix things up a bit.

Allardyce aims to raise standards
Papa Lazaru replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
The whole point in employing Souness was that we were stuck with him after several managers had turned us down already. Also Souness wasn't a disciplinarian he was just an obnoxious little prick who picked fights with people. Allardyce will be strict, but has already won the respect of all the players with what he's said to them and shown them pre season and beyond and will get them to follow his rules without the need for acting the hard man like Souness did. -
Hope we can get him here as he's one of Big Sam's main people from Bolton. I can't remember the name of the other one who was always emntioned alongside Forde but i think he's already here.

If Dyer is leaving and Nobby as well then i really hope we bring in a creative/attacking midfielder along with Faye as they will be needed. If it was ok for Sam to spend the money he did when Dyer's deal collapsed then he should have all the Dyer money and perhaps more to spend on Faye and another midfielder. We're building up a nice little squad here, but it does need a creator and even better one who also has a bit of pace in the midfield would be great.

Are you suggesting it isn't like? Peter Jackson is the equivalent of Mohammed bringing the faith to the masses! Anyway its written down like the bible, so it must be true!
-
I agree with you that it's meaningless and shouldn't be criminalised however I don't see why people are getting all fussed at the issue as they probably wouldn't be if another t-shirt had a slogan in an attempt to cause offence but without anything to do with religion. I don't get all the uproar - do people feel threatened by religion? I think its censorship involving religion that gets some people annoyed, because its something that is totally unproven and shouldn't be allowed to govern the lives or choices of individuals who don't believe any of it, yet it does. It wouldn't be accepted for anything else, for example you couldn't get things banned on tv/film/theater/t-shirts etc. because it offended people who believe in ufo's or who believe like David Ike that we're being ruled by giant lizard creatures in the guise of humans!
-
Shouldn't be criminalised and really if i was religious then i wouldn't take offence since i'd patently think it was wrong and that Jesus wasn't a cnut at all! You'd have to be pretty weak in your faith to see a t-shirt slogan and think, sod it, he must be one after all, i've been wrong all these years. Its meant to wind people up and they should be bigger than to rise to it, but they never are. As for a person wearing it, they shouldn't be criminalised, but they should be prepared to accept what comes their way in terms of peoples reactions because that t-shirt by and large is there to offend people, and get a reaction i'd imagine.

Owen, Cacapa, Dyer and Ameobi to play for reserves tonight
Papa Lazaru replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm hoping Kazenga does make it as it'd be great to have a genuine flair player break into the team and excite the fans, something we haven't had for a long time. I've liked what i've seen of Edgar, looks the most intelligent and calm of the young defenders when he's played. -
I think he probably should start on the bench and ease himself back into it, and Martins deserves to start anyway after the Bolton match. How frightening is it that we're thinking Owen can wait for his place in the team!!!!! If the game is going well then he can come on in a good situation with a chance of getting amongs the goals and i think it will be. If it should happen to not be going so well he can come off the bench and maybe turn the game, either way it would be good!

Its not about London vs Newcastle anyway, Nobby has made it quite clear his wife has moved to London with the kids because of her career, leaving him with a simple choice of move to London and see alot of them or stay here and see alot less of them. He'd much prefer to be here as he loves it and feels at home but his kids aren't here, hence the problem, but he's said that already.

"'Ello, Glenn Roeder here. As you may know Glenn Roeder doesn't lay down for anyone so Glenn Roeder is pleading for you to renew your season ticket......." "Glenn Roeder needs your support as the team is struggling with injuries, not that Glenn Roeder would ever use injuries as an excuse...did i mention the injuries?"
-
I imagine with most of them Sven asked them to come back and support the team and any females were asked to come back and also "leave your home or mobile phone number after the beeps!"
-
Imagine if it had still be Fat Fed and Roeder, the mind boggles as to what the message would have been like!!!

Horses for courses. Some of them are funnier than the films. The Spinal Tap commentary is done in character and is hilarious. Did you never see the Rob Brydon show Directors Commentary? Some of that was genius. I see i wasn't the only one who watched Director's Commentary then! Whats strange is that Rob Brydon then did a commentary over the Peter De Lane commentary over the old clips on the dvd! And you're right the Spinal Tap commentary in character is class, the same applies to the excellent in character commentaries on Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

Toontastic Piss Up - Aston Villa (H) Sat 18th August
Papa Lazaru replied to Scottish Mag's topic in General Chat
Imagine i'll be there before and after, but leaving slightly earlier before kick off as i can see this swipe card thing going tits up forst home match! Also add in the extra drinking time people have had and god knows how long it'll take people to work the swipe card! -
Gibson is and always has been wasted on that shower, without him they would probably have gone bust again and ertainly wouldn't be bothering the premier league for a good long while! He must be tearing his hair out when he sees such piss poor crowds no matter what they do.

Have to say personally of the two Quinn is and always will be nowhere near as embrassing as Fat Fred and of the two i'd have taken the NUFC equivalent of Quinn (say, Sir Les Ferdinand returning for example!) over Fat Fred. Of course Quinn and his group have a long way to go to see if they actually achieve anything, but they've chosen what seems the right manager and backed him so far. Hope it all goes tits up but i don't see that happening. Nor am i worried about them troubling us and finishing higher either mind.

The Smogs are such a mickey mouse club, to have so many gaps in the ground for the first game of the season, nice weather, not on Sky, and no other feeble excuses for them not to be there. I also like the fact their fans think us and the mackems give a shit about them, and see them as a some sort of rival!

Since Big Sam came here Gartside has basically implied everything good they did wasn't really down to Allardyce and that everything after him would be much better, which is of course utter bollocks! So Sam will really have enjoyed this win to stick it right up him, and Gartside will see this season just how much of their success was down to Allardyce.
