  1. I'm not doing too well at saying what i mean! I meant i'd have stayed with Bobby as boss if i'd known that Souness was going to be the new manager full stop, not that i'd have chosen Bobby as it turned out shit under Souness because sadly i knew it would go tits up with that fuckwitt in charge.
  2. If we have as many injuries (or as many man-hours lost though injury) this season as last season we'll be dancing on the relegation zone. We've probably got a stronger first 11, but if anything we're weaker this season in squad strength. Allerdyce seems to be shitting himself somewhat over this (rightly), but I'm not sure the Shop Managers in charge really are (perhaps thinking it saves costs). I saw him last night and he gave no impression of being concerned actually. I found him to be incredibly reassuring after the last crettin we had in charge. Already we are playing better as a team from the evidence I have seen from the friendlies. I agree with you, but the team also played better under Roeder at first. That aside, I think Allardyce is the best manager we've had since Keegan to be honest. While I had great affection for Robson, he was no longer at the peak of his powers. That's true, but it's also a bit harsh on Robson considering his overall finishes for us (and that FFS meddled at critical points). For all that Allerdyce has done at Bolton his CV and record is nothing compared to Robson's (as yet... and possibly ever). Considering the mess Bobby took over you can't knock the turnaround he made with the club, all that spoiled it was staying on that little bit too long when he should have moved upstairs or retired before Freddie sacked him too late and at a stupid time, leading us down the road to the mess we became. If Big Sam managed to match Bobby in getting us to 3rd and 4th with in the prem as it is now he'd have done one hell of a job!!! I think we'd all take that down the line as can we really ever see us finishing higher than 3rd/4th, you'd hope it can be done but it will take a lot of time, money and luck to do that! We weren't in that big a mess when he was sacked (as much as newspaper would like us to have been). A lot of it was down to FFS selling player and no freeing up cash. The whole brat pack thing was an issue, but then with the likes of Bellemy and Dyer it was always going to be (and Bowyer and Shambles). I still suspect that the season Robson was sacked we might well have still got into Europe if he'd not been sacked (although it was pretty much time to move him upstairs IMO and perhaps the biggest issue was the growing rift between Robson and Shearer). But Allerdyce has got to do a LOT to be a better manager then Robson at Newcastle and frankly its probably impossible for him to be a better manager than Robson over all, he's just not done enough at his age (not won in Europe nor the Premiership). I agree, i actually meant that after he went we got Souness and Roeder combined with Fat Fred leading us into the mess we became. I think Bobby had stayed on too long, but christ i'd have taken him over Souness like a shot, if we'd known that's what was going to happen!
  3. And i think Sam will rate him, because he is a good prospect if his attitude is no longer a problem. Sam knows we need left footers, he also has the kind of pace and energy i'd think Sam would want and possibly thinks he can play in a few positions as he's moved him around a bit so far. Also with Dyer going he's one of the few players left with pace. And selling pretty much anyone at the moment is daft as the sqaud is so thin, and they would just have to be replaced.
  4. With no Uefa games clogging up our fixture list whilst some of our rivals do, i think Sam will definitely have his eye on a cup run or two if possible. If we even have a tiny bit of luck with injuries this year for once we can take advantage of not being in europe, just as Bobby's team did in the past, though not to quite such a high placing!
  5. Its funny, but also true, he knew exactly how to play Arsenal and consistently troubled a team far better than his, something we have rarely achieved. Our previous two managers have Plan A for all teams they play (which is usually shit) and when that doesn't work they sit and do fuck all, and when its too late bring on a sub or two usually for the wrong players!

  7. Come the start of the season, or maybe right at the end of the transfer window we'll know where we stand. But like you i think there's money available because Big Sam has said several transfers have not quite gone the distance, but that the fee was seemingly agreed with the other club. We really do need a couple of fullbacks and a centreback, and above all else we have to get a LB in, but i'd trust Big Sam to get a damn sight more out of what we have here now than the previous to fuckwitts did. I think we'll definitely see a couple of defenders in, even if maybe he has to lower his sights a tiny bit towards the end if he can't get who he wants, because like all of us fans he doesn't want to start the season with our current crop of defenders and rely heavilly on young lads, often playing out of position. I do think Ashley could chuck a bit more money at the problem now, rather than maybe waiting till later, but we'll see how things are at the start of the season.
  8. Agree totally with the four-eyed cock clown, the way this minority of complete dickheads behave just fucks the club over. Its not just about attracting new players but these retards forget some of Dyer's team mates will also be his friends and its hardly inspiring for them to see this kind of shit happening. But NUFC isn't actually important to them at all, acting like a prick is what they care about.
  9. Unless behind the scenes Zog is acting up and demanding to leave then it would be ludicrous to sell him and i don't think for a maoment Big Sam would unless he has little choice. However as Gol says that doesn't mean Fulham haven't made any offers, they probaby have, hopefully we'll tell them to piss off!
  10. Its far too early to be jumping the gun about Carroll, but everyone who sees him does seem impressed with him, and he has that air of intelligence about his game that some of our other "prospects" have lacked. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does this year be it with us or on loan somewhere.
  11. That's about right, it was a smuch Roeder's fault as Luques in the past, but now he has a manager who knows what he's doing, will get him fit and prepared and will likely give hima chance when he thinks he's ready, so its there for the taking. Whether he can or not, who knows but i hope he does.
  12. Any news on the injuries? I notice the mackems have a 7 page thread on OUR friendly game, Jesus Wept!!! Not that they're obsessed of course.
  13. I'd sub him at half time, because this is NUFC and you know if he continues playing like this he will get injured 2nd half!!!
  14. Only a friendly i know, but this has to help Luques confidence and that can only be a good thing as we are likely to need him next season with the squad looking a bit thin. You never know, Big Sam might make a player of him yet!
  15. I was waiting for a bus and had the pleasure of being yards away as some Celtic fans started kicking the shit out of each other and chucking bottles of their heads, and the bloke next to me said it was about the 3rd fight he'd seen so far.
  16. Sums my feelings up perfectly. It would of course be so much better if Big Sam decided he wanted him and we bought him! At which point the mackems would declare he only chose us over them for money!
  17. Is that for deaf viewers then?
  18. Just seen Anal Oliver on SSN basically wanking all over Fat Fred as if he was the messiah! He must be so gutted that he's no longer Freddies bitch and will have to try and get in with Mort who won't give a fuck about him!
  19. I just don't think we can afford to lose another player when we are already looking at a pretty thin squad and having trouble getting players in. For all the problems that come with Dyer, he does offer pace, and an attacking threat that is different from the other players in midfield and having seemingly sorted out his injury problems i'd be fucking pissed off if he ended up playing a whole season for one of the cockney teams.
  20. Aye, I was listening. Two-faced, or what? "the Newcastle fans love a signing" and then asked if the fans were excited by the new era he says, "well I can't speak for the fans.." He was really pissed off when relating the statement from Chairman Death (Mort? Geddit? Eh? Oh fuck ya's ) about not concentrating on news for the press. Anal Oliver saying "well I can't speak for the fans.." is the first accurate thing i've probably ever heard from the little prick, shame he doesn't believe it! I really hope that the new board, manager and everyone else just give Oliver jack shit all the time and make an effort to discredit any stuff he does come out with! Even better if they made a point of saying they'd only speak to the other bloke who does the football!
  21. It was always going to happen sometime but this is alot sooner than i expected!
  22. I know what you mean about it hitting home better than books in history classes. Just like in GCSE history when we were doing the american west and our teacher let us watch Blazing Saddles It doesn't get any better than that! You're fucking kidding me! I bet you never thought you'd here the words "Up yours nigger!" as part of a History lesson. Well there was the bit when they hit the quicksand and he says: "send down some horses" and gets the reply, "Don't waste good horses, send down a couple of niggers!" I laughed quite loudly, but was the only one That teacher was great though, he could do the job well but was also a laugh and on mondays let us go a bit early for lucnh, pretty much because he wanted to i think!
  23. And the Brian Johnson one with "Botham struggling to get his leg over" or similar! Quality moment that. "He couldn't quite get his leg over" I think it was. Another magic one from Johnners was "There's Neil Harvey standing at leg slip with his legs wide apart, waiting for a tickle." That's the other one i was trying to think of! I've got all the "Colemanballs" books taken from Private Eye with all the stupid things commentators, news readers and anyone else on tv, radio or anywhere in the media have said and they are class!
