Woodward was like that from day one. When he took the job he told the RFU they had to do everything his way, give him everything he wanted and he'd get them the world cup, grand slam et al. Took him time to build it up, like Big Sam, but his team were so well prepared, super fit, getting the very best out of all the squad and as we know went on to win everything. Agreed. When you consider that we're up against the likes of Everton, Spurs, Bolton & Blackburn we should be aiming for 5th position at the very least and that's without the aquisition of Allardyce or Ashley... Have always agreed with that. The top 4 takes soemthing to break into, unless one of them has an off season. But beyond that everyone has been completely average at best, hence we've pissed away years where we shuld have walked it. Next season could actually be harder as you have Spurs improving, Villa with O'neil and money, and waiting to see how Bolton are without Big Sam, but 5th is still there for the taking.

Buying English players from English clubs means you pay far more than they're worth so i'd avoid it myself. I'm more than happy for him to pick Viduka up on free though.

I'm taking this "one year" crap with a pinch of salt, we have not had any credible direct quotes from Mike Ashley backing up this claim. Exactly, people can at least give the bloke the chance to takeover the club and speak before having a go at him for something a paper has said! And even if it does turn out that he is giving Allardyce a year to show him he's good enough, people don't know what that means exactly, may just be the same as the fans, wanting to see clear signs of improvement at the club, organisation and professionalism with the indication of success down the line.

Well they said on Talksport last night that AXA (and another company) had a healthy share of the club and that if there's a sniff that they club will be bought, they'll definitely sell. Shepherd is going to be left pissing in the wind with no power if he digs his heels in - apart from being the epitome of arrogance, there's no other point to him holding on... Hope thats the case and that he can get the 51% as soon as possible! Out of interest, what do we, the fans who have shares do? Do we get sent something in the post to buy our shares or something, i don't know how it works? Just the quicker he goes for the fans shares the better as he'll get pretty much all of them straight away i imagine and i read somewhere the fans amount to about 8% or similar? Or would he go after the bigger shareholders first and try and sort everything out there, and then pick up the fans shares as and when needed?

And yet i can't help but find it hilarious!
