  1. Anal is just a complete prick! Souness was nobodies cup of tea at all, and Roeder was at best a very cheap and watery cup of tea that nobody really wanted! Did anyone read in the chornicle, it may have been saturdays where Oliver wrote that some of his friends have told him how much he features on internet message boards! Says he never uses them himself but has foudn out how much he gets mentioned...wonder (and indeed hope) they told him what kind of mention he gets! This does then make you wonder about some peoples theory that he is now starting to deliberately do some of the stuff he comes out with to piss us off even more!
  2. Remember that Hula Hoops advert with Cab Calloway? Anyone? I do, along with the Kia Ora one you mentioned on general chat (from Frost and Pegg's perfect night in). The Kia Ora one i haven't seen for years and years, yet the second it was on i could remember the tune/words perfectly! Yes, but it was refused to Robson before IIRC. Though the image of Robson sitting in front of a computer is a bit strange as well. GBLC will struggle with the new regime anyway with the introduction of many strange words like nutterition etc. I reckon if the club bring in a computer system to assist the coaches, GBLC and Terry Mac will sit in front of it and play computer games the whole day. Though, if it keeps them away from the training ground... It's too orangey for crows. Why was Bobby being refused Kia Ora, we need to know! Gives you cancer tbh. I had some recently. It was reduced to about 25p a bottle in my local mini mart place. It tasted like bad AIDS. So you're saying Kia Ora is maouri for Bad aids!
  3. Anyone who changes their accent needs to have a word with themself (preferably in their native tongue). Haway alex, you've lived on the emerald isle for a while now, shirly you say a thing or two with an Oirish lilt? As I said before, I'm not deliberately "putting on" an accent to disguise my own, I just pick up the way others speak around me. I think it's most noticable in students living away from their home, they're mixing with a much larger variety of accents everyday. anyway, on my return I switch back to the "how man lyke petal, flower, y'knaaaaaaah" rhythm pretty sharpish for fear of the old blokes at the lercal staving my head in with their steiners Ah, but if you really wanted to you would keep your accent, might take a concsious effort, but you could, you just really want to be a toff don't you! One of my mates dad, when drunk, would pick peoples accent up after about an hour, mixing it in with his own very quickly!

  6. I think with the mood seeming to be more positive that some good signings and say keeping Owen will see nearly everyone coming back. Come the start of the season we usually all end up back whatever people have said, but had we kept Roeder and his team, and not made a complete change, i think we would have seen some gaps at St. James.
  7. Give them time, i'm sure they can dig them up before the day ends!
  8. Souness and Roeder both said a lot right things (at the start) - so like every other manager Allardyce needs to be judged by actions, not by intentions. Agreed, but the plans he mentioned at the press conference fills me with far more confidence than Souness or Roeder ever could. It does sound more specific, than just simply saying things that sound good, and unlike the other two his track record tells you he does the things he's saying he will do here. I do hope though that sooner rather than later we see the first backroom people being brought in, hopefully cherry picking the best ones from Bolton, but wherever he gets them from we need them asap. And even better if we can also get some players moving in quickly as well.
  9. I liked how when Allardyce mentioned clubs needing stability and patience with managers, the camera panned straight to a Sheepish looking Fat Fred!
  10. Souness comfortably, though this full season under Roeder is as bad as anything i've watched for a hell of a long time.
  11. I reckon Bramble is probably better than Moore. Neither are good enough and both are almsot certainly leaving though. He might fancy Gooch but I reckon the likes of Campbell, Distin and Ben Haim are more likely signings. I'd be happy enough for him to bring those 3 in, especially when you think 2 are on frees and Campbell at his age can only cost so much!
  12. Same here tbh, especially in regards to the defence. That's why I think we should keep hold of for Bramble - we simply cannot afford to replace the entire team. Thats a definite problem. If everyone had their way we'd have practically no players left and you cannot unfortunately just dump the lot, afford enough replacements and integrate them all straight away. Moore and Gooch will leave i'm sure, Carr and Baba should, but will both since Sam will notice we're very short on fullbacks? I think Sam will fancy his chances of turning Bramble round, i'm not saying whether he will be able to or not, he's not a kid anymore, but Sam will look at his physical attributes and what he can do and think like others that he can turn him round, so don't neccesarilly expect Titus to be out!
  13. Its not a surprise really. If you're away from this club you see Fred back his managers with money and if you talk to him he will come across as a passionate toon fan as to be fair i think he is. Its only when you've been a fan like us for years and pay attention to everything he's said and done you see he's also a complete moron among other problems!
  14. Parker - Has amazing rotating function
  15. Stephen Carr - It regularly increases in dimension, but this isn't a good thing!
  16. I'm going for a yes, and if backed by Fred, given his full team from top to bottom and time to build us up, i think he'll do a good job here, and long term we'll be in so much better shape as a professional football club. Also think he'll do a good job in his first season before he even has time to completely overhaul everything he will want to when he sees the complete shambles this club is!
  17. Warnock for the toon, 1:00 tomorrow!
  18. When did we last have a manager who wasn't interfered with / undermined by Fred, or was allowed to change the entire playing staff before his results were judged? It just will not happen. If Sam can't get the majority of the current players working, he's fooked in my opinion. It will require a big change on Fat Fred's part that's for sure! I think we all know though that the fat bastard reacts to the fans, so if anyone has the resposibility to sit back and not panic (providing we see signs of improvement) then its the fans as this will be transmitted to the chairman. With Villa and O'Neil they hardly set the world alight this year, but people have said their fans could clearly see signs of change, knew that behind the scenes things were being worked on and that he has made them hard to beat, they just lacked the creativity. So the fans haven't been stupid and have backed the manager in what he's doing. If toon fans do the same i think Allardyce can completely overhaul our club for the better in the mid to long term and we will feel the benefits of that for years to come whatever he does. But also i think he'll do enough short term to keep Fat Fred from off his back as well. I'm quietly confident!
  19. Agree with most of this thread, as i've said elsewhere, he (and his team) are known by reputation to be good at sorting out so much of what is a disgrace at this club. He's on the up as Alex said and for once will have a pre-season and money instead of coming in after the season has started. And if Fat Fred has finally shown some "planning" and has even better, identified some of the faults at out club, got the man to sort them and will let him, then who knows, he may even end next season with a bit of praise...the fat cunt!
  20. Dyer - vibrates really fast but doesn't do much for you
  21. Agree with what Ken et al have been saying, whether its great "planning" by Fat Fred or just that he's decided for whatever reason to go for Big Sam. The fact is alot of what is worst at this shambles of a club are the very things Big Sam and his team are good at sorting out. It does look like maybe, finally somebody has got to Fat Fred and pointed out some of what's wrong here and that he has went for a prime target to change this. I think given a free reign to bring in his team, decent financial backing (which he'll get) and time to turn things round that Allardyce will do a good job here. And before anybody (Well one person) says why should he get time when Roeder didn't, the blatantly obvious answer lies in the fact we were a continuing Shambles under Roeder, if anything getting worse and his track record was shite. Allardyce can sort us out but he needs the fans to give him at least soem time before they start turning the atmosphere to the usual negative, whingeing, booing pile of shite that makes St. James a horrible place to be these days! Not sayign Allardyce is the messiah, but i'm sticking my neck out and saying i think he's what we need and it will work out.
  22. Hang on, we don't know who he will be unveiling tomorrow, we might see Barry Fry walk out from behind the curtain at 1pm. Now that you say it, it could happen! I'd take him over Souness mind!
  23. I'll say one thing for Fat Fred, i have many, many problems with him, and he has pratcically ruined this club! But he obviously identified Allardyce as his manager and acted quickly and in time to get him before the likes of Man City threw a spanner into the works. People mightn't agree with the choice, or they might, but it does seem the nearest to "planning" we've seen from fat boy in years!
  24. I really rated Howey as a CB, looked like he was going to be a top class defender who was pretty fast and composed, but also strong and good in the air. Then he got the injuries and never recovered and wasn't close to the same player again which was a shame. Taylor has been up and down and still has a lot of work to do but hopefully we can end up with a good centreback who delivers consistent performances.
  25. His attitude obviously hasn't been right, whatever the treatment he's had, but i hope he's still here when Big Sam arrives to see what he can get out of him. Also our squad is already thin on talent as it is, and Duff will be out injured for months by the sound of it, so Zog will likely have a really good shot at a permanent place in the first team if he does the business on the pitch. But as somebody said, he may already have been tapped up by another club and be looking to get himself out of here.
