  1. OI! Don;t be draggin Luque into this... Luque was just a little unlucky.. Scored in a derby if i remember correctly... iirc in case there's any geeks out there... He was to be fair - Overpriced, badly injured in his second game only to get back to full fitness to be managed by someone who hated his guts. He had a great preseason under Fat Sam but his wages were daft so we shipped him on.
  2. Does anyone want three Friends DVD boxsets?
  3. Was that away to Arsenal in the cup under one of KK's first games? Is that the one where he missed the pen? I can't remember who it was against, I thought it was a bit later after KK had left. Probably wrong mind. That penalty miss was shocking. He took it with his wrong foot. I'd have docked the fuckers wages.
  4. I think Taylor does a better job on the right then either perch or simpson to be honest (and he's quicker) You can't drop Simpson after that performance.
  5. I heard that he just stopped coming in for training completely when Kinnear was here and only sporadically came in when Shearer and Dowie were about.
  6. No, he spent his time playing piss poorly unless a member of his family croaked then he'd put a shift in.
  7. Our kid absolutely loves Martins, to the point where he spits his dummy out and refuses to talk to me if I slate him to this very day. I'd love to introduce him to Gemmill I can remember a match during our relegation season which summed him up. He rounded the goalkeeper twice, on the first occassion all he had to do was role it in gently with his foot, so he wellied it out of the ground and on the second it needed a bit of pace, but he hit it so meekly the defender had the chance to get back and clear it. Do I want that back? Do I fuck. Give me Shola any day of the week.
  8. He was all over the place on Sunday. He made a fantastic tackle on the touchline, showing some speed to catch up with play. He was really up for it.
  9. I really hope we don't try and barter with Marseille. Unless the injury has completely fucked him £5 million is a bloody steal.
  10. I slagged him off, I'll admit that and I'm glad I've been proved wrong so bump away
  11. Runs round in circles all day? Parkeresque.
  12. No. Scored the odd screamer but missed so many sitters it wasn't funny anymore. Glad we're rid of him.
  13. A nice black and white Hughton one.
  14. Shame the national set up is a shambles or they may do quite well.
  15. Those are great, where are you getting them from?
  16. Watched the game again last night, have to say Shola's overall performance was superb. I saw Louise Taylor had given him MOTM and i thought fuck off, at least Nolan and Barton were better. On a second (sober) watch, have to say his contributions were immense. Hold up play was excellent, loads of tackles won and 2 goals to boot. The last time Shola played this well it was when Roeder was caretaker in Shearer's last year then his hip went. Say it quietly but maybe his dodgy leg was a huge issue I think it obviously has been (although he'll never be consistent imo, because his first touch is either sublime or awful) as I've been of the opinion he hasn't be fully fit about 4 seasons now. I think it'll always be an issue though. I wouldn't have gave that theory a second thought if I hadn't seen the huge difference full fitness made to Barton's game. I just kind of assumed Shola fluked a fantastic half season but I think Carroll's emergence last year gave him time to fully recover and now he looks quite handy. At the end of the day he's still Shola, so I still expect him to wander around the pitch looking semi-interested and occassionally stand a mile offside but this season he's performed. I was told he has a 1 goal in 3 starts record, which is astonishing

  19. Either Shepherd is going to make an awful offer or he's being bankrolled by someone. Either way I'm not too sure about this.
  20. It seems very bizarre to me that the device in Birmingham was checked, cleared, checked again and seemingly cleared before someone turned around and said 24 hours later "actually, it was a bomb".
  21. Are all the turnstiles open now on matchdays? Im sure a bit back they closed a lot of them down, I assume to save the minimal cost of staffing them. It's all open where I am but wondering about the rest of ground. Thing is, if ever you get a glimmer of hope that the penny is dropping (I thought we had a decent transfer window), he then pulls another stunt (assistant manager, stadium branding) to remind you that he hasnt got a clue. got a text today saying that the reason loyalty points are no longer used for matches is because it took too much staff time and money to do it that way. From now it is on a first come first served basis. penny pinching in the extreme. It's changed hasn't it? Last year it was first come first served and then there was a huge fuck on for the Boro game so the club changed them back?
  22. Ashley seems to believe he can run a football club with a skeleton coaching staff. Disaster waiting to happen.
