I'd put some money into the investigation of the "ghosts" that people claim to see/hear/.....smell? it's amazing that EVERY single test done with psychics have come back with a resounding "bollocks" you'll be telling us that Most Haunted is a Documentary next... and that Derek Acorah really does have an american indian guide, called Sam (very Iroquai name that mind) who can speak english and lives with a scouse ex-footballer. aye ...righto I'd happily throw a couple of dozen grand at disproving all this tosh, once and for all.

good question. wouldn't hesitate, the moment the weapon is raised the bearer has made him/herself a target IMO. to be fair if a kid raised a weapon the hesitation would also put my life in danger, not a risk I'm willing to take.

yeah I know.. but it's tempting, just want to give it a little bit more... kick.

he could make light work

now that sounds good should I add a bit of paprika to the wrap?

well I'm having lemon chicken goujons, carrots, spring onions, and spinach leaves in a wrap. Glass of ice cold Red Stripe in the Garden while the fatty mcfats have their BBQ bitter? me? not a bit.

Oh my f*cking god that's painful!!! 144227 was that wacky in a wig hugging Crouch at the end of that?

keeping him alive doesn't seem to be working either to be fair.

Neither can Bush tbh. 144209 don't get me started on that warmonger... I'm trying to think of the best President that held office before Clinton... willing to bet it's another Democrat.

straight into high interest off shore account give my folks a mil sisters 500k each Offer my close friends an option, either 100k and get out of my life or a 10k holiday with me and never ask for money again. (might be a bit more subtle in the phrasing of the quandry) £100k - £1m I'd buy some land on the californian coastline, I quite like cliffside houses but am not so stupid as to buy a property without having it checked out... About £2m Buy a bar in Newcastle city centre, and get it to the stage where it covers it's costs, anything more than that is a bonus. I would employ someone to run it obviously... I know the square root about business and stocks and taxes and stuff... £2m-£4m Leave a mil in the bank to accrue interest.

I was pissed... but I still stand by it now I'm sober just think that he cannot possibly face punishment that comes close to matching his crimes.

didn't mean verbose I agreed ages ago that these soldiers should face trial... I agreed ages ago that this "war" is prepostorous I said that the world would have been better if Hussien had not stood fair trial and had simply been executed, I stand by that. I said that while these atrocities shouldn't happen, to get overly excited about it when they do, is to miss the bigger point and to lay blame at the wrong feet. I've never used the term do-gooder as an insult, but have been suggested to be a bigot. I have been insulted, but that's par for the course. Succint enough for ya?
-
Renton, I may not be as verbose as you but I know that it's pretty obvious that in a situation like that facing the US soldiers in Iraq, there is going to be horrific incidents. I'm being asked to call them atrocities, despite describing them as such from the very first post. None of this is right, none of this is proper, but it's here and it needs to be dealt with. Wailing and bemoaning horros every time they happen will serve NO purpose. Will it stop the soldiers on the front line? No, of course not. Will it change political pressure? .. are you kidding? it's nice to jump behind the veil of indignation but the bare facts are that in war, atrocities occur. Renton appears to see this issue in black and white, you either agree with him or are condoning a massacre. this is over-simplifying the issue, it's terrible that innocents have died, it's horrendous that they died at the hands of people who have been disciplined and controlled, but if you can tell me that if you were in that situation. That boiling pot of hate, turmoil, betrayal and fear.. if in all of that you could keep your head.. then I'd first call you a fool and then a liar. How can you possibly attach the norms and values we hold dear in normal society to that kind of hell hole? it's not right, it's not fair but it's true. I haven't clicked on HF's links, but I'd assume he was showing Ash and Milgrams experiments? Once the person becomes an agent of the system he can do things outside the boundaries of his personal beliefs, he can also justify these actions later. and that isn't even touching on the effects of the de-humanisation of the enemy, stress and betrayal So sure, merrily slate the soldiers if you like, but they aren't the issue... a few courts martial won't solve the problem. It's got to happen at the top, it's got to happen on both sides and it has to happen over time. simply sentencing a dozen american soldiers for murder will not suddenly put all the pins back in the grenades. but if you really want to get upset about something, what about the thousands of Iraqi's who die at the hands of their countrymen? I remember reading somewhere that for some people a US life was worth more than an Iraqi Life... and I don't think that's the whole truth, I think that for a lot of people an American Murderer is more shocking than an Iraqi Murderer. it's as if they expect less of the Iraqi's.

I didn't predict this particular atrocity, but I would say it's an idiot who can't see that atrocities have happened, do happen and will happen in a combat situation.
-
I have condemned the act alex, it's just that I am not surprised by it. the commanding officers should stand trial and be suitably punished, however, to attack the soldiers is, in my opinion, missing the point. they're just the thin end of the wedge
-
Course it's fuicking predicatble I've said time and time we shouldn't have gone to war, but I'm not so naive as to think that bad things won't happen in war. I refuse to squeal and weep everytime there's an atrocity for the fear that it's all I'd do. We shouldn't have supported the Hussein government by selling them guns, we shouldn't have dealt with tyrants just to get a short term gain. but you are if you're surprised that horrible things happen at war and although I can't speak for Leazes I'd say that those statements are correct. unfortunately I'm not one of those.I'm fully aware that this is a rediculous exercise. Also I'd add to that list. People who think that men and women trained to kill, who have had the enemy systematically de-humanised, will not seek revenge for the endless atrocities that are heaped upon them. This isn't condoning the soldiers acts, if you look at the posts I've made, I've referred to them as terrible, horrific, etc. etc. so don't be so narrow minded as to think that by expecting them that I accept them. you should go further back than simply this war, if the US knew the consequences they may not have done a million things. oh and I hope that you're not calling me a right wing bigot, because that's just petty name calling and a little to frivilous when you're rtalking about something like this. I think both sides agree think that this is a tragedy, it appears that one side expected, but still condemns it, while the other seem surprised that it happened.

how do you justify killing anyone Gemmil?it's war it's not diplomacy, it's not subtle and safe. It's horrific and wrong and terrible. I'm just fed up with peoples indignation at the sad, but blatant, fact that unspeakable things happen at war. it's a terrible thing that people die, of course it is, but I refuse to happily throw insults, and blame at people who are trying to do an impossible task, with no support from home and resistance away. of course we shouldn't have gone in, but it's easy to say that now, what we should be saying is, we shouldn't sell weapons or give assistance to people simply with the short term gain in mind. We shouldn't enforce "democracy", we should nurture it. There will not be a stable Middle East in my life time, there isn't the education and infrastructure to harbour democracy and the petty despots will squabble over dirt because they still cling to outdated theologies and beliefs. but lets not get out panties in a bunch about the political debacle that has made this situation apparent, no lets instead focus upon the horrific acts carried out in it's name. I love that we can all say that if we were in that suituation, (either joined up to patriotically serve out country, or been forced into the military through lack of opportunities) that we would be able to effortlessly decide which arabian-featured man was an enemy and which was a civilian. I love that we can all indicate through our revulsion at these acts, that we'd somehow be able to dettach ourselves from the feelings of rage and betrayal. It's remarkable to me that we hold our soldiers to higher standards than we do theirs. We almost seem blase when a man walks into a store and massacres 20 or so innocent countrymen, deliberately.... to make a point... the comment about Hussein I stand by, any man who does what he has done... does not, in my eyes, deserve the rights and privileges afforded to men of stature. Prison will not be punishment, and this court will take years to decide upon the fate of a genocidal bigot... when really a rank and file marine could have saved the world a whole lot of time, money and pain by squeezing back that trigger. I'd say the same for Pol pot, Mugabe et al. But fortunately for them we won't invade as they have no oil.

never let the assistant give team talks man. you've got to sack him now, if you insist on letting him do the talks employ someone with awesome man management skills and nowt else. Let him control the team talks and the contract negotiations and nothing else. Have one of your coaches sort out the reserves and the U18s. Also have you bollocked any of the players or sold a teamf avourite? if that's the case start praising players with High influence.

I can only pray to the Olympian Gods that's a joke.

bunch of puffs if you ask me, how anyone is afraid of something so small is beyond me. I mean sure I swat spasmodically at wasps and bees and the like, but I'm trying not to get stung and get rid of something annoying. Spiders are a very neccesary creature, they get rid of the REALLY annoying things that plague a persons living space.

not only does it prepare you for questions like "Can I get a LArge quarter pounder meal with fries and a diet coke" but it also explains why they want the diet coke when the rest of the meal is so fat-batardy

the thing is, a lot of really useful and insightful psychology is hidden under popular beliefs about it and also some real hack-ery. my major problem with Psychology is that there is no definitive theory or answer. they say that the best thing is to take bits from the various theories and muddle along the best you can. It would be wrong to dismiss it though, a lot of extremely valuable lessons can be learnt from the study of behaviour and reasoning.

I know a little about phobias but I wouldn't dare to say what triggers them as it could be a myriad of events in the past. thing is the anxiety attacks are not phobic attacks, according to my tutor there are subtle differences between the attack I describe and the symptoms of phobias.
