Well, not sure if that's better or not.

Genuine question; who provides the broadcast infrastructure for terrestrial tv and radio in the UK?
-
Everyone piles on to the BBC and it's got it's failings, but fuck me, the alternatives are shocking. ITV? Channel 4? Channel 5 ffs. Would I pay a subscription for the BBC? Sure, I listen to the radio for hours every day. I use their website. I watch some of their tentpole shows. Definitely worth £13 a month to me. What would happen to the other terrestrial channels if the BBC goes subscription?

don't disagree with point 1, but re: point 2. The kind of people bumrushing stewards to get access without a ticket aren't going to politely wait for ticketed people to get their seats before finding an empty spot. They'll grab a seat and if someone challenges them they'll act the cunt. Which means the people with tickets can't enjoy themselves.

Oh, the absolute worst kind of person, then?

That's like being angry at buses because the driver's a cunt.

You mean arch-Tory Tim Davie? The man who's dismantling the BBC from the inside?

I think your ire is misdirected.

Who is that?

Sounds like a nod to a loan deal, rather than confirmation that Willock will be in the Arsenal first team. -

6 year contract is less about how long he'll be here and more about raising his price, surely? -
That ExileNumbers lad is hilarious. "They're always piggybacking on others' success"? Are you for real marra?

Yup. Addiotnally, I think Walker and Henderson would have been better Penalty takers than Sterling and Mount. Either way, this young England team got to the final of the Euros and only lost to a very good Italian side on penalties. Danny Baker and his ilk who were demanding they threw away everything that got them there and attack with abandon are morons. Sure, Southgate could have made substitutions earlier, but he and the young England side can be proud of their performance.

That's what I'm convinced of. I can't see how it would strengthen their case, but it will inevitably raise questions about the legitimacy of the process. Much like the initial appeal to remove one party in the arbitration case because of suggested bias. It wasn't necessarily looking to remove the person, more to shine a light on them and seek to prevent a ruling that could be painted as biased. -
So, just a toucher, then?

They'd be more upset if we get Big Dunc in.

I think bringing in Benitez 18 months ago would have been the right move. He knew the squad, the area, he would still have been welcomed back by the majority, and given that an 'elite' coach would likely have not wanted to join a club that would be unable to truly compete for major honours, or qualify for the Champions League for a few seasons at least. As you say he would have been a perfect transitional appointment. With the Saudi's reported ambitions we'd have surely been aiming to finish as high up the league as possible while improving the foundations, and Benitez would be the man to deliver that. Then, when we had improved the squad after a couple of seasons pass the baton to a younger, more contemporary manager who could take us further.

He also creepily pretended to be a cat, on national television. How he isn't laughed out of every room is a fucking mystery.

Of course that's what they thought. They genuinely thought it would be nothing but sunlit uplands. They dramatically overestimated both our bargaining power and the negotiating skills of the feckless panderers 'leading' the charge. They bought the lies of Leave because they didn't give it sufficient thought, but still voted. Whereas the Remain campaign didn't do enough to lay out the cost and risks to the UK, nor inspire enough people to vote to dilute the reckless Leave vote.
