  1. Finally on at the Odeon here today so I'm going to see this tonight.
  2. Aye that was pitiful. Every time the ball goes near him now you feel he looks like he's struggling. Confidence clearly is playing a part in that, but he hasn't impressed in any area so far.
  3. Aye you have to give Shelvey credit for the amount of space he gets himself into. Opposition managers must be actively trying to prevent it but few have managed. In this respect Shelvey is the complete opposite to Vukic who despite looking like a player with decent touch, never manages to find himself in any time and space.
  4. Sooper dooper Hooper was horrendous but Sels isn't looking any better at the minute.
  5. I don't think so personally but it's possible. Would have been nice to see other angles.
  6. I think any suggestion Mitro has failed are ludicrous. He's barely played but when he covered for Gayle he scored. I was confident he would have scored 20+ had he played regularly. But Perez has been our worst player over the season (and was poor last too). Diame hasn't been great for a lot of the games, Colback was shite when asked to cover for Shelvey. and Dummett is Dummett. But Perez has been consistently poor when we've seen he can be a very good player in the past. It's easy to see why people are frustrated with him. Ritchie has done very little in some games but I've not seen any in which he's played the type of shit that Perez has served up. And he's always looked up for it where Perez certainly hasn't.
  7. Forgot about that but I thought it was clear at the time and that seems to back it up. Good ball from the young un.
  8. I'm not saying people didn't go overboard with him last night but my disappointment came from hearing he did well against Brentford and then seeing bottle challenges and look half asleep from the moment he came on. I was hoping to see a upturn in his form but he went straight back to the way he's been for the most of the last season and a half. I can't remember him winning the ball for the last goal (and the BBC highlight doesn't show it) but it wasn't a great ball to Shelvey. It was nearly cut out. Shelvey had to make something of it rather than the ball putting into a good position.
  9. I thought they started nervously (which is to be expected) but got better and better. Barlaser tired towards the end but either side of half time showed some good touch. I would agree Findlay was the best but I suppose give he's played Scottish premier league football last season, you'd expect him to be a bit more ready for the first team. Also agree Hanley did well next to him. He won loads of important challenges in the air late on.
  10. He did come on a looking shit and uninterested tbf. I really don't know what's the matter with him.
  11. Barlaser looked quite good. Has a decent touch and can pass a ball. There might be a player there if strengthens up. Finley barely put a foot wrong all game. To be fair until they brought the big lad on they had nothing up front so he wasn't particularly tested but you couldn't ask any more of him. The other kid struggled to have any impact on the game at all. Three assists for Shelvey who was easily the best player on show. People were calling for Perez to be substituted after he came on.
  12. I can't say I've had any problem with Anita at fullback. He's a dreadful midfielder though.
  13. Maybe he would think he'd have more chance of playing a full premier league season with us than them.
  14. I think you're probably right, there's probably other factors (political for example) that will stop a massive influx of top European (in particular) players moving to those leagues and as such they're unlikely to ever really compete.
  15. This is my thoughts. I do think he looked better than what he was for that period as he was looking like one of the most dangerous wide players in the league at that time. I don't think he's that but I do think he's a mid level premier league player. Given the prices that are being quoted at the minute (Boro paying up to £10m for Bamford) I think if we paid about what we paid for him originally, I don't think it would be a risk at all.
  16. He does seem to lack that much slower gear that most of our players are in.
  17. He played for PSV the other day, has he been injured since then (wouldn't surprise me like). Townsend has been liking tweets from Newcastle fans saying they'd have him back. For me him and McCarthy are clear upgrades on what we have and both capable mid table premier league players. I'd have them here in a heartbeat. Not convinced at all that either will happen though.
  18. Fuck that, what about Europe? Save him for the champions league final.
  19. Maybe we shouldn't play Shelvey against Rotherham either. Keep him from getting injured or suspended before we play Brighton.
  20. Sure emotional can't be classed as a spoiler? You're going power mad now.
  21. Definitely one of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen in anything on the big or small screen. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Buscemi and Alder in particular were both superb throughout. I've never seen CK in anything other than Parks & Recreation and American Hustle but I'll have the check out some more.
  22. El-Mhanni hasn't started many games for the reserves yet I don't think. He's been talked up in the chronicle but I don't think I've seen him achieve much yet. Barlasser I think has been out injured for a while and just come back recently. Roberts and Longstaff seem to be the only ones that have done anything for the reserves and we've just let them to Kilmarnock.
  23. I'm not much of a Carey fan but that is an excellent film.
