It looking more and more like name after on our list of targets for a new striker is one by one being ruled out. So my question is how far down your list do you go? Or rather how far do you change your parameters before you decide just to stick with what we have. Roder has stated that his preference is for players who have premiership experience, who have a good fitness record and basically the right attitude. Since we're struggling to find someone who matches all of the above does he now decide to look abroad for someone with no premiership experience or does he take a risk on the personality of someone like Anelka who's had more than his fair share of questions raised over his attitude. Or do we lower our standards and go for someone like Collins John or Marlon Harewood Baring in mind that we would likely pay over the odds because everyone knows what position we're in. Personally I believe with only Shola and Luque and the posibility using Duff or Milner in an emergency, we are in very real danger of getting dragged into a relegation battle. Something must be done and I would be looking abroad. I know you run the risk of getting someone like Luque or Boumsong who struggles to adapt to our game. But surely this can be minimised by some more thorough research into the player. I believe this is the most likely way of us finding someone who can at least do a job this season without paying up to five or six million more than they are really worth.
