Is he not still 19? I agree, I'm not trying to hype him up too much I just think it's wrong to A. To start knocking him after a couple of iffy performances alongside a player who's been having a mare and B. To lable him a tryer which as I say suggest to my players like Steve Caldwell who will put everything in for the club but undoubtly would never have the class to deal with top players. I think Taylor has played well this season and I think he has potential to improve. How far is anyone's guess and you won't hear me calling him the next Franco Baresi or Bobby Moore. I totally agree with SLP though. Last season he looked ropey when he was played in the centre and seemed far more comfortable at fullback where you don't need the same positional awareness. This season he has improved massively in the centre to the point where I don't think anyone can argue he has been our best defender (granted the competition hasn't exactly been fierce). I have heard calls for him to be in the England squad which I think is ridiculous but I am more than happy to see him progressing with the u21's alongside the likes of Anton Ferdinand who also looks like a good prospect.

I'm not knocking him in fairness, I think he's a tryer. I just don't see anything in him to suggest that he's a particularly intelligent footballer. 35387 I think labeling him a tryer is doing a massive disservice to the lad. As I say last season he came in at fullback and despite being out of position he was pretty much our best player. This season he's moved into his favoured position and he's moving on in leaps and bounds. His positioning and judgement is getting better all the time. Against Manure he was exceptional. But at his age he is going to have ups and downs and there will come a time where for his own good he will need to be left out of the team for a few games. This is the way it is for all young players and like I said earlier, for a centre half he is extremely young and as yet he has very little experience. He may or may not turn out to be an international class player but as far as I can see he has good ability on the ball, is strong in the tackle, better in the air than any defender we've had in recent memory, he is a natural leader and I believe he is showing signs that the parts of his game he needs to learn (positioning, patience and not diving in) he can improve on (something Bramble never looked like until he played alongside Boumsong). His biggest problem may end up being that he has to learn all by himself as we don't have any decent coaches to help him. Perhaps Roder might be able to help there! Someone like Caldwell is what I would call a tryer. Taylor looks a far better prospect than that.

I just think it was funny that his reaction to Bramble coming on was pretty much the same reaction we would have had to him coming on before last season!

I find it staggering to see anyone knocking Taylor. Yes he's made some mistakes and although he barely touched Bellamy yesterday the booking and thus sending was probably deserved. But last season I can't think of a better player in our team at all and this season for most of the games he's been up there with Parker as our best player. He got moved to right back (I think that's what Souness did against Fulham but the whole team seemed all over the place so it's anyones guess) and his performance suffered as did playing alongside Boumsong who couldn't do anything right yesterday. But for a extremely young lad (which is what he is in Centre half terms) he's generally playing to an exceptionally high standard. He does make the wrong decision a little too often at the moment but that will come good with experience. Look how Ferdinand was playing at the same age and you will see a lot of similarities. I'm not saying he will become as good as Ferdinand no one can say that but I believe he has all of the attributes to eventually get into the England team if he progresses like he could.

Bollocks, IMO. Bowyer?? 35143 Yeah I forgot about Bowyer who I referred to yesterday as the most disapointing player we had (being that he was the only one of our midfield who you could say might have a chance of getting into the starting 11 this season when all our players are fit, and he was totally anonymous). But that doesn't disguise the fact that Faye cannot control or pass a ball at all. Yes he put in the effort and put lots of tackles in but nearly every time he won the ball he gave it away just as fast. I guess I might be being a little hard on Faye but it's just that I cannot believe he gets paid so much for having so little ability. Players of his calibre have no place at our club.

Did anyone else notice that Bellas seemed to be gutted at us bringing Bramble on? Does he know that Bramble has the beating of him perhaps?
-
1. The Zog by virtue of Setting one up, scoring one and clearing one off the line. 2. Clark 3. Given The fact that Faye wasn't as shite as he usually is still didn't lift him above the position of being our worst player IMO. Although Boumsong did run him close.

Sigur Ros - Takk On first listen it seems to be their most accessible album yet, and my personal favourite.

People should get away from this myth that Clark is crap. He was Fulham's captain and one of their best players last season and is still a footballer with skill and passing ability who they just couldn't afford to give another contract that he wanted. If we wanted to say be going for 4th then yes, he shouldn't be first choice for us, and lets be honest he isn't if Dyer, Emre, Parker etc. are all fit, but he will still do a good job at prem level especially with the added factor of playing for the toon where he will give that little bit extra. 34085 Very true but him in the centre along with Faye is still coca cola standard. Mind you any midfield relying on Faye for anything other than carrying their boots is coca cola standard!

I can't remember us having a decent coach since Faz!

Apparently we will be without Parker, Solano, Emre, Dyer and Luque for the trip to Blackburn. This leaves us with a midifled of Bowyer, Faye, Clark and Charlie Boy. This midfield is not good enough to beat any team in the premiership and probably half of the Championship either. Expect to see another game where Shearer and Owen get zero service. This injury crisis couldn't have come at a worse time. I would rather go into games against Chelski or Arse with this sort of team. At least we don't expect to win those sort of games. We simply have to beat teams like Blackburn, Fulham and West Ham if we expect to get anywhere and until we get those players back available we have a team no better than the makems!

I was wondering about that too which is why I still haven't listened to Takk!

It was still only quite well compared to the standard he set in the first half. I could have come on and played well compared to that. So could my granny tbh.
-
Not easy to pick one player let alone three but I would say 1. N'Zogbia 2. Bowyer 3. Parker
-
Who has voted for Faye? Are they taking the piss? Sengal must seriously be a country with only 11 blokes if he's an international. I'd rather have O'Brien back and play him out of position in midfield than watch that mupet play again.
-
I expect Souness to last the season because when we have a fully fit team it will virtually pick itself and I am sure it will do well. But Saturday showed up the stupidity of the man in glowing technicolour. To pick a midfield that included two defensive minded midfielders (with the more defensive minded one playing in front of the one who can actually attack) and a defender at home against a team like Fulham is criminal even with our injuries. Even if Bowyer wasn't fully fit (and if that was the case he shouldn't have even been on the bench as that puts pressure on you to play him at some point) Clark and N'Zogbia should have started in the midfield (even if it ment playing Clarkie on the right wing) or even Brittain who is at least a right midfielder! Faye shouldn't even be allowed to own any boots let alone get on the pitch. Barring an amazing healing for Emre, Dyer and Luque and Parker somehow managing to get his red card recinded, I have no doubt we will be subject to another stupid team selection on Sunday and we will probably have to suffer Bellamy ramming it down Souness's throat.

I have a baby now so I can't afford to go that step. I comfort myself in knowing I'm helping bands in other ways by promoting them to others who can afford it

I've just aquired this myself and it sounds pretty decent so far. Definately looking forward to Tit Smoking.

Definately, can't get enough of half hour songs with no singing. Is it just me though, or do you think that Johnny Cash's singing would go perfectly with some GSYBE songs.
