1. Kluivert or Viduka, "No thanks one pie is enough"
2. Any Makem "Champions!" Souness "I'd like to thank Leazes Mag for all his support and good wishes"
3. Shola "I'm delighted to accept the golden boot"
4. I can't think of anything more appropriate to say!
5. If we (and by that I mean the clowns in charge not us fans who know we have no chance) do still have any lingering hope that we can sign Owen, we need to get in there and make a formal bid quickly so that we can smoke out Manure and Liverpool if they're interested. Otherwise we will just let this drag on until the transfer window closes and be left with nothing. Hang on, on second thoughts that's exactly what will happen!
6. I'm the last one who is in support of Fat Fred's way of running the club, though regarding the bit in bold I strongly disagree. How can anybody say, that he isn't providing the funds? He is making money available in the region of up to 20m this summer if you keep in mind those players signed and those we had lodged bids for. Add to it the fact that Souness was allowed to spend more than 10m only half a year ago. Tell anybody at Sunderland, West Ham, Man Shitty et al that the manager isn't getting money for rebuilding the squad. They will be laughing hysterically. I don't know how Fat Fred is doing the transfer dealings, but I am not a friend of simply bowing down to other club's ridiculous valuation of players. I also have not seen the ominous list Souness and Fat Fred were tinkering about together. As Anelka was pretty low down the list as I asume I only can imagine the answers Fred and Graeme got from other clubs, players and representatives. As I said a couple of weeks ago the transfer business is a fiasco. And in my opinion Graeme and Fred are both to blame, because they simply don't have a clue what they were/are doing. 10406 I understand what you are saying but what I am saying (and what everyone aknowledges) is that unless we sign at least one striker and a left winger we are totally fucked. The fat man isn't providing the funds to do that or we would have been able to sign Anelka and LBM by now. Like you I don't want be paying over the odds but that is the position we are now in because everyone knows how desperate we are beacuse of the transfer policy that Souness and him have followed. We are now at the stage where I would rather pay more than we should have had to in order to make sure we are not relegated. Let's face it, shelling out an extra couple of million more for a player is peanuts compared to what we would lose if we go down! 10428 I actually don't disagree with his assessment that the midfield was piss poor and weak, ie Dyer and Jenas, no tackling ability, wideopen, losing the initiative etc and needed to be addressed, in fact I agree. But - that made it more necessary for him to keep the other players until such a time as he changed the midfield to how he liked it. And, I don't care how he felt about Bellamy and Robert, I just don't care, he is paid a lot of money to manage the club and he should put the club first, after the gobshite is always telling us how no one is bigger than the club. It's just a sign of how incompetent he is, that he took the action he has done, for an experienced manager too. It's indefensible, he should be fuckin shot. 10448 I can't disagree with you at all there. I just think that FS actions started the problems with his handling of Robsons dismissal and then Souness's appointment and he's now hanging his manager out to dry. Basically I would say we all knew Souness was clueless from the start, that's not his fault it's just that he's not good enough. FS shouldn't have appointed him but since he did he should have sacked him as soon as the season was over and he had proved to be a failure by any standard we have, but since he didn't he now has to back him in his attempts to sign forwards because we have no team at the moment. But he just keeps allowing things to get worse.

8. Fact is also, DK, that the manager chose to sell players he shouldn't have done, giving him more gaps to fill, and more players to find, than he should have done. Thats not Shepherds fault. And Souness would have done the same whoever the chairman was, because he wanted to do it. Having wanted them out [bad enough] at any cost [worse] he then saw them sold at less than there value, thus reducing his own spending power [worse again, and should be sacked having survived 2 or 3 obvious sacking offences previously]. That isn't Shepherd either, he may be stupid, but he is allowing his manager correctly to run the playing side of the club. I would wager a bet that Shepherd wasn't happy at underselling Bellamy, but Souness gave him no choice, he had to either do that or sack Souness. Yes, I know..... Who made the decision to extend Bellamy's break by a week when he was going to report for training ? Shepherd ? I think not. Which proves the above point. Lastly, Souness also would have had an idea how much money would be available to him [which is more than most, he can't complain he has brought in 6 players at a cost of 20m-ish in less than a year] so if he again chose to concentrate on the midfield area then that is also his decision too, not Shepherds. 10348 I agree Souness wanted Bellamy and Robert out at all costs (which was certainly a mistake money wise) but I also think the fat bastard did too and that was one of the reasons he appointed Souness in the first place. But comments by both Souness and Shearer tell me that the other sales we have made have been basically forced upon him. You might say that this is bollocks and Souness would have walked if we sold players over his head but I think Shepherd has basically come to him and said "we have to slash the wage bill and these players are the ones to sell" and Souness will have reluctantly agreed in order to keep the players he feels are the mainstay of the team and in the obviously misguided belief that he would be able to replace them. Regardless of that, I like you would much rather we had a manager of some quality instead of Souness but I still say all of the problems stem from that incompitant Jaba the Hut lookalike who 'runs' the club. He appointed Souness, he sacked our last few managers less than ten games into a season, he isn't providing the funds we now desperately need!
9. I think the reason we can't attract Owen is the state we are in and our standing as club. Souness's failings as a manager last season may have contributed to that but I don't believe Owen would have turned us down if Souness was our manager and we were in the champions league and had a chairman who wasn't a complete fool!
10. We are now three days away from the start of the season and Newcastle United as a club are a total shambles. After promissing early signs to the pre season (the signings of Parker and Emre and the sale of O'Brien) that suggested we might be able to move foward as a team this term we are now in a situation where we basically have no team at all. We are lacking a first choice left back which at this stage is likely to mean that Taylor will have to be switched there and Moore will have to start in the centre. Jenas looks likely to leave so we will be forced to play Bowyer (a player who we tried to offload!) as the third part of our midfield three. We are going to have to play Shearer in virtually every game (something he says he's no longer capable of and no one is arguing) as the main striker, hope Dyer manages every game as the right attacker (something he's never come close to) and then player either Milner or N'Zogbia (out of position) on the left. So basically we do not have a single area of the pitch where we have a team! I know many people will lay this flatly at Souness's (the Devil) door but while I agree he's shite I can't accept that he would allow this to happen if he could do anything about it. The simple fact is the usless fat twat we have in charge isn't allowing his manager to spens the money that is required to complete a team. We have now given up on Anelka after only bidding about £4.5m. It was stupid to think that Fener would sell him for that little in the first place but it's even worse to give up now without even bothering to offer some more. I know I'm not telling anyone anything they don't already know but the shortsightedness of our board is is now beyond a joke and with the state it has left the team in, it is absolutely frightening. I don't like the idea of mass protests at games by the fans but I have to admit that I am now extremely worried that unless we can do something to get that fat fucker out, then we can kiss our future in the top league (never mind europe) goodbye.
11. 9839 Obviously isn't up to date with the fiasco that is Newcastle United
12. Surely we need goals! What use would Kanoute be? For me Keane is only an option when we have someone else like Anelka already in.
13. Where's Billy Whitehurst? Most of that lot cake their draws if Billy went for them!
14. To get us a new striker(s)? Owen looks like a non starter, Viduka we don't want and the paedo's say we can't have, LBM is looking less likely (I don't really consider him a striker anyway) and Fener's boss is saying we would have to pay Anelka's buy out fee. So to what lengths should we go to get someone in? For my money we up shit creak with the strikers we have (even with Dyer back in who I believe will make a difference when he plays). If it comes to it I think we will have to bite the bullet and pay whatever it takes to get someone like Anelka becuase any potential financial problems we could possibly face by spending so much would be far less than the problems that relegation would cause. And without some new strikers it is certainly a possibility.
15. I agree 100% with that. Emre has certainly lifted my spirits somewhat but unless we get two strikers and a left winger we are fucked this season. Warren Barton called it perfectly last night. We were totallty devoid of any pace to be able to get behind their defence. If we can get some I am confident Emre will be able to provide them with considerable ammo.
16. It's becomming very clear to me now that it's the fat bastard and not Souness who has decided on the sales (with the exception of Robert and Bellamy). You could hear from what both Souness and Shearer said last night about the squad not being good enough last season and now we've sold more players than we've brought in that his hands are being tied with regards to transfers. This isn't me defending Souness because I think he's basically a poor manager. This is me having a go at that fat fucking fool that is running our club into the ground!
17. Thank Christ for Emre. I thought he was superb all things considered last night. His touch was good, his range of passing was excellent (being able to play a ball for his team mate to run on to is a wonderfull gift that none of our players have had for years) and he has a cracking shot. He may make the season worth watching!
18. Has the pie eater ever reached 20 goals in a season in England?
19. Exactly what Dan said. I'd prefer Souness turned out to be our best ever manager leading us to a league and cup double thrashing the relegation bound makems twice on the way. (Note: This isn't me defending Souness but wanting what's best for the club which this surely would be)
20. First positive signs for a while!
21. Am I the only one who thinks Viduka is a good player? I agree I would pick Anlka over him any day and I don't want us to sign him given his injury proneness and questionable desire (and the fact that I do like the occasional pasty from Greggs and would be worried about them running out). But I think he does have plenty of ability.
22. fooking brilliant to see you lot saying what you want unlike before ..... ooopssss 4016 You've lost me
23. I think your being very naive to blame the problems we have on Souness. The fat twat in charge is to blame for pretty much everything. He wanted rid of Robert and Bellamy and he brought Souness in specifically to do this. Now Souness has identified players he wants to bring in (good players too judging by who we have signed and bid for) but now the pie eater isn't allowing him to sign them. I am not standing up for Souness because I like him or because I think he was the right appointment because I don't (it sickened me to see him appointed). But if there is a cancer at our club it is the tubby fucker at the top and not those who work for him!
24. Sheppard is going to totally destroy our season yet again. We make a good start to our transfers with Parker and Emre but without strenghthening up front we are going to be a laughing stock this season. I was very hopefull of a good season this term with the expectation of these two players but now I can see us ending up with players like Dickov, not because that is who Souness has identified as a player to take us forward but because that fat prick of a chairman is going to leave us in such a state that with so little time that is all we will be able to get. I am thoroughly pissed off now
