  1. Well that's backfired on me hasn't it.
  2. I'm mainly using Covenant with Poseidon as a back up (although for some reason that keeps removing itself) and they're both working fine (although I often have to click on what I want to watch 3 or 4 times before I get a full list of streams including the debrid ones). Smoothstreams is brilliant for sports although they have lost Sky which is a bit of shame but any major sport is on plenty of other channels and the American streams are better quality anyway. Will be a bitter blow if this all goes tits up like. I'm sure it will at some point though.
  3. Wasn't Eurotrash on at some ridiculously early time? Or am I getting mixed up with Rapido?
  4. I'm sure Glow used be on sky when we first had it in the early 90's. Seem to remember it was a show I used to watch in private along with Tutti Frutti on RTL.
  5. Disappointingly I'm in full agreement with Fish on this. Seinfeld is brilliant. It's Always Sunny is the best sitcom there's been for a long time.
  6. The journalists now seem to be saying that Staveley is the only interested party now. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, I suspected right from the beginning that all this talk about four or five people signing NDA's was bullshit, but I've also worried that Staveley's interest seems a bit too public to be genuine. I've always felt that if we were to be sold, it would be someone we didn't know about. I suppose I'm the same as Rayvin in fearing the worst really.
  7. I always preferred Perez out wide. Aarons apparently looked really good for the reserves the other week although last time I watched him for them he looked very disinterested. I agree with KD, Atsu's not close to being one of our best players although I do think he's done a bit better this season than I expected. But for me, our 9, 10 & 11 are probably our problem areas.
  8. Just finished the third season of Rick and Morty. I know I'm late to the party on this but it's quality stuff.
  9. I'll concede that Guardians and Deadpool are fun but Cap 3 (and Avengers 2 which you've not mentioned) were two of the least fun films I've ever watched. Cap 3 in particular, I just sat through all of the action scenes thinking they should be fun but I just found them completely soulless. It did improve a bit when Spiderman was in there. I think you're totally overthinking and to an extent missing the point re the fight scenes in Highlander. We're not talking about a Schindlers list or Godfather type film here. It doesn't need a (hopefully googled) knowledge of fencing techniques. Clashing swords and cutting off heads is perfectly acceptable for a scifi film of this type man. Tbh if other films have more detail I've never noticed them (I suppose Syrio Florell against the kingsguard in the first season of GOT stands out).
  10. I watched Highlander again yesterday and whilst being fully aware of the flaws (Lambert while I don't necessarily think he's a bad actor, is really miscast, him receiving 'the prize' is pretty awful) still enjoyed it greatly and not just for the nostalgia. Clancy Brown is excellent as Kurgen, Connery is always great to watch, I actually think the fight scenes are good and benefit from not smashing up entire cities and the soundtrack is excellent. Technically all of the Marvel films you mention are better but they simply aren't as much fun. And fwiw I do actually rate all the ones you mention. I suppose I do get jaded by the shite that the rest of them are (first two of each of the x men series excluded). I can't imagine there'll be many of them I still want to watch in 10 years time let alone 30. Deadpool, Guardians and X Men maybe.
  11. I'd rather watch Highlander any time. There's only some of the x men films that come close. Of course there's flaws in it but they don't stop it being far more enjoyable.
  12. It was a prequel though set in the Norwegian camp where the dogs came from in the original. Admittedly the plot is pretty much the same though.
  13. Not quite the way I read it (admittedly from Wikipedia) but either way with what he's admitted himself there's more than enough evidence he's a horrible human being.
  14. Chinatown is a fucking good film mind. Edit: It doesn't actually seem true that he pleaded guilty to anally raping anyone. As far as I can see he pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a 13 year old. In no way do I defend that or do I think any 13 year old can consent to sex, and I think anyone who is guilty of statutory rape of a 13 is a horrible person. Even if the victim seems to have softened her own position on him over the years. It's interesting to note that the age of consent in California at the time this happened was only 14.
  15. There's not a single Marvel movie that compares favourably to Highlander.
  16. Seriously though, Highlander took over being my favourite film for quite a bit of my teenage years. It's dropped significantly now as I've seen better films and I can see the flaws in it, but I don't think I'd like to see a remake. Mainly because I can't imagine anyone decent being part of it and then it would most likely fall into the Point Break category.
  17. Unless it has a Frenchman playing a jock and a jock playing an Egyptian with a Spanish name, I'm frankly not interested.
  18. Fuck off Highlander is a classic. I fear the proposed remake will be about as good as the remake of Point Break. They could remake any of the awful sequels though.
  19. The Thing wasn't a remake. The Thing with Kurt Russell is nearer a remake of The Thing From Another world from the 50's but that's really an example of how it can be done well. Both using the same source material but in different ways.
  20. I don't see the point in remaking excellent films. Remake something that had potential but wasn't done well the first time. Unless you can update it and bring something new, which you can't with this, it's a complete waste of time. Mind you, the theatre was packed and they seem to be having a shed load of showings so it might be making money.
