  1. Saw Atomic Blonde and The Dark Tower last week. Both were watchable but AB was much the better of the two. Worth watching for Theron's nipple on when she goes into the ice bath. I've not read any of the Dark Tower books but I assume it's a lot more in depth then the film which seemed to have been made very much for children.
  2. I watched it again and found out the first time I'd watched it, it had ended about five minutes before the end when Jon went into the water. I'd not even seen Coldhands let alone the ice dragon.
  3. Aye I thought it was as annoying as Sansa has ever been. Maybe because she was just a distraction from what I was wanting to watch.
  4. That earlier book isn't set in the same world as a song of ice and fire apparently. Still I think it's certainly suggestive of where he sees things heading.
  5. Maybe. There's no precedent in the books for anything like this as far as I can remember so anything is possible. It would certainly even up the playing field you'd think.
  6. Loved Westworld. Thandie Newton being naked regularly certainly didn't harm it either.
  7. If you don't like the second season I'd probably not bother with the new one if I were you. The mystery structure of the first season is long gone and it's fully down the rabbit hole of Lynch's most surreal work. Personally I'm loving it but then I loved the second season too.
  8. That was my first thought. But I'm not sure how that could work, surely one element would work against the other. I'd accidentally read some spoilers about what was going to happen this season the other week. Happily this episode seems to make them complete nonsense.
  9. The fact that he claims a thought process is interesting.
  10. What a fucking belta that was. Not a tit in sight either.
  11. The question seems not to be what is and isn't unconditional, but rather what is a supporter. By Wolfy's definition it seems to be someone who attends every match. Whilst I can revel in the superfan status he's thrust upon me, it's clearly nonsense as the club has many supporters who don't go to matches regularly for whatever reason. To me it's pretty obvious that you can support the club/team without going to games.
  12. Woakes is probably a bit more pacey than the rest but certainly not what you would call express. Is Wood injured again or is he in this squad? He's probably the only pace option we really have atm.
  13. Hopefully Stoneman manages to get score this series or we're going to be seriously struggling against the Aussies. I worry that Westley is another Vince in that he looks nice for a few runs but cant get beyond that.
  14. Bell has averaged just short of 25 this season so I think he can be ruled out. It might be worth going back to Balance and playing him at 5 where he actually plays well for Yorkshire. Either that or look at Hales or Roy who at least we know can perform at international level with the white ball. Or play Ali and Bairstow as batsmen and bring in Butler and another spinner.
  15. On and on goes the search for a top order.
  16. I think you're over estimating the impact of the players so far. The new signings combined have managed about a game and a half of premier league football so far. So judging them is foolish so soon IMO. Yes they all looked decent but let's wait until they've managed a few games before saying how good they are. But again I stress this isn't the point. The concern is that when other clubs (admittedly most of them have the TV money from last season that we didn't get) are spending good money we're back to hunting for bargains who seem to be more for the squad than the first team (shown by the fact we only started two new players on Sunday and it would have been just one had Yedlin been fit). We've shown before that we can find the odd gem for next to nowt, but ultimately it led to relegation. I thought we would have learned from that but apparently not.
  17. Stoke paid a little over £5m two years ago and since then he struggled his first season and then went and a not massively successful loan back in Spain. Whether or not he's been banging someone he shouldn't, the price we're paying is pretty fair given his lack of success. Even with the ridiculous prices currently going around. We'd do very well to get back anything like what we paid for Riviere (who tbf has done much less in three years than Joselu has in two). It comes back to what we've done in general this window rather than the specifics of this deal. I think there was hope after the last two summers that we were now moving away from the days of Carr looking for bargains in France and coming back with Amalfitano, Riviere and Gouffran. We spend good money on Thauvin, Wijnaldum, Mitrovic, Ritchie and Gayle. This summer we've not even matched what we spend on any of those players.
  18. I agree at this stage it's a positive. But it's not enough of a positive to change the overall feeling that we've not done enough again this transfer window and all we have done is add to the squad not the team.
  19. We seem to have done that with every signing except Lejeune so far. I really can't follow the thinking on this summers business.
  20. I can't understand how Huddersfield can outspend us when we had that profit from last summers transfers. Surely we should be able to spend at least as much as them + what we made last year. I know there's various reasons it's not quite that simple but something doesn't seem to add up.
  21. 3 year contract suggests he's not expected to be a first teamer to me. They usually get 5-6 years. Of course the £5m price and Rafa's "He knows the challenge we've given him at Newcastle and he's keen to come and fight for a position in the team" also suggests he's not been bought to come straight into the team.
  22. Another squad player, was hoping we'd actually sign some players for the starting eleven this summer but at least it's another body through the door and a player that Rafa has obviously picked. Lets hope Rafa can get more from him than Hughes.
