  1. Because if you're less than 56 then you're automatically wrong on all counts. he is incorrect, definitely, and going around in circles because he has no understanding of football. I wonder if he is a new version of skidders, although less abusive, so far ? Proberbly [as he likes to spell it]. Why can't he answer the question, I answered him, and told him how clubs get into the top positions of the premiership, but it appears the poor little dear doesn't like the [correct] response and still thinks we are no bigger than the Boltons and Blackburns of this world. I asked you two very simple questions 1. Would you have given Nolan a 5yr deal on 50k a week?? 2. How much do you think would need to be spent to challenge the top 4?? I've never compared us to Bolton or said Ashley is the saviour of the club. I'm realistic about where we are NOW. So please, pretty please with sugar on top, just answer the fucking questions
  2. Of course he would. And Barton and every single player we've got and the extra 6 or 7 that Pardew wants to bring in to improve us. Fuck the wage bill, that will just materialise out of somewhere. Its like classic opposition politics. "We wont do the bad things, we'll only do the nice things"........Never any need to explain how it will be done, where the money will come from etc etc. Its quite frightening when you see that West Ham have just spent £16 million over 5 years on one player. I am sure someone will know the facts but I find it hard to believe the earnings percentage ratio today is anywhere near what it was in Sir Johns day. This is where Leazes always falls down. He can never explain how financially it can be done in todays climate. Great if you have a sheik but otherwise books need to be balanced. Yet again you come up with stuff thats totally irrelevant to the discussion. LM isnt arguing that we should buy them all and keep our existing players hes talking about strengthening the squad, not merely gambling on new "talent" while binning the known capable players. Team irrelevant strikes again No he's not, he wants to keep players regardless of costs and sign big names without knowing where the money is coming from The money comes from the owner. He reaps the financial reward when he sells a club in the champions league. If and its a fucking big if, Ashley is nowhere near City or Chelseas wealth, get real. It's foolish to think by spunking 200m on players to reach the C.L. then not doing it. Gamble, gamble, gamble "Fred" did it for 15m when he "spunked" the money to buy Bellamy and Robert You said about keeping out best players, do YOU think the club should have offered Nolan 50k a week on a 5 year deal?? how old are you ? What the fucks that got to do with you answering a simple question??
  3. Leazes, how much do you think the club would need to spend to be challenging the top 4??

  5. How do you propose we break the top 4? Would you give Nolan/Barton 5 yr 50k a week deals? Facts and figures mate or do you share Leazes stick it on credit strategy??

  8. Is that the salary he's got from west ham? Reportedly so Still waiting Leazes, would you offer Nolan 50k a week on a 5 year deal?? Come on, answer please
  9. Leazes, you would have given Nolan a 50k a week 5 year deal??
  10. kept our best players ? How good are these 2 players ? People like CT were wanking over Routledge man. How long will we keep those 2 guys if they do well ? That isn't the way forward Chez. With Nolan we had a player who was versatile enough to play in attack or midfield but had limited athleticism and could not play a proper striker's role. He's been replaced by 2 players who potentially address these weaknesses so the starting 11 may have been strengthened. Better players than Nolan in current first team: Barton, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Colo, Enrique, (Ba?). Two of them could leave though so that would seriously weaken the starting 11. Its early days but Nolan out, Cabaye, Ba in is potentially an improvement. Everything is uncertain until they line up next season. he asked me how I would push forward "towards the champions league". While I concede the Champions League is a bit too much for next season, genuine progress is only obtained by keeping your best players and allowing the manager to build on what he has with better players "in his opinion" as much as possible. Its quite clear this is not happening, he is not being allowed to keep the players he wants to keep and he is not being allocated even the funds from the sales to replace them the way he likes, never mind a normal budget on top of that in tune with a club of the standing of NUFC, or what they should have, or what they used to have. It's that simple Chez. He asked, I replied. You can dress it up as much as you like, but what I have said is what all the ambitious and other successful clubs do. There is no reason Alan Pardew couldn't have brought in players while keeping Nolan for the next 2 years or so, and eased him out in his own time, it is obvious this is what he wanted to do so this is what ought to have happened. Who is next to leave that he wants to keep ? How would you ease him out when he's sitting on a lucrative contract? Bit like Smith really. It's obvious what Nolan wanted and rightly so he didn't get it here
  11. T'was simply a "point of order", Alex and I snipe quite a lot, all in good fun, it was far from being a defence of CT per se and pedantry is fun. Since I have ignored LM I haven't quite completely recalibrated down the sensitivity of my "making things up" radar/defences. Good Answer. CT, you really haven't said a lot in that post. Do you think the sale of Nolan is a good one? Do you honestly think that Cabaye was signed to replace Nolan... or was Nolan's sale opportunistic because the club was able to force West Ham to offer what they felt was an acceptable figure? If Nolan had signed the contract that Simon Bird talks about would you have seen it as a good thing? Do you think the three players you have idnetified (Jonas, Shola & Lovenkrands) should be sold to facilitate their replacements, or do you think the 35M for Carroll shuold be enough to replace them whilst keeping them for depth? I think it was a pretty clear answer. In an ideal world you would just add to the squad should answer your questions on Nolan but in the real world NUFC are not going to pay him big bucks to as Chez puts it, possible not even make the bench. Would have been excellent if Barton (my player of the season ) and Nolan had signed in January. They chose not to. Re your last paragraph, unless you have your head in the sand its pretty obvious there is a hell of lot going on at St James with regard to replacing these three. "in the real world" - Mike Ashley is running a club sowing the seeds of decline, competing at the levels of Bolton and Blackburn, to make a profit, with no ambition, and will sell any player to make a profit rather than speculate on reaching the Champions League to make a profit, as you have been told for ages now. This is the bottom line. Leazes, what would you do in the next season or two to challenge for the champions league places? keep my best players and try to strengthen the first 11 ? Is this difficult ? How would you finance it then? Keeping 29 year old players and offering 5 yr deals at 50k per week? Good business? Please just state HOW you would do it Thanks
  12. I'm bucking the trend then I dont mind, I can have a reasonable discussion with him. Dont agree on a lot of things but I'd not say he's been unreasonable. I tend to think that some here think you are either 100% behind Ashley which means you have to be 100% against Shepherd or visa versa. I'd rather look at facts and some things sway me one way and some things the other. It's not as clear cut as saying one was better one was worse on every subject. Thats my biggest problem with LM, he wont admit any wrongs under Shepherd/Halls
  13. Yeah I know, was kind of hoping he would have a few answers on how he would do it. Still waiting tho...............................................

  15. Barton if he stays but can't see it with his outbursts today will be a sure fire way to get away while saving face. Think it will be Collo
  16. Are you like LM?? Want to do it all on credit? Then when we don't get C.L. worry then? Seriously, how do you think we can compete at the top? Browbeaten, no way but I am realistic as to where we are at the moment. I would lo love a mega rich owner like City and Chelsea but they seem in short supply As for sniping at L M., just returning fire. Shame he can't have a proper debate as he's seen a lot of football but won't see any wrong with Fred and the debts the club had
  17. It opened last week... It's not supermarket sweep, give it some time
  18. stop repeating the same old shite man Pot and kettle there I think but come on Deano let's just see who comes in first, every transfer rumour won't be true
  19. True we could have 3 ex geordies playing for us but with players like Gerrard and co we can do damage See who's laughing when you have spunked well over 100 mil to play in the Europa league cos you ain't getting in the top four
  20. canny CT like, when he's completely and utterly proven to be an utter dick, and he will be in time, he's going to claim all those wildly optimistic posts he made [shared by jaysouthernmag, deano and Toonpack] were only done to "wind me up" Stop bringing me into your arguments you sad old twat and as for winding you up, trust me I've got better things to do than try and bait an old fool like you but you do try, don't you ? You're going to look like a right dick son, but you do in my eyes already, shame you are taking no notice of me trying to educate you and the others. I would say I'm in a majority of people who don't care what you say as nearly every post has an angle with reference to the good ol days
  21. No, but we could have sold him next Summer. The fee is probably nominal so wouldn't change that much. Now it looks like we will be relying on untested foreign players to hit the ground running and suddenly gel with the other 6 players we need. Revolution not evolution. I agree about the loyalty but we dont know the terms. They might have offered him £5k per week or just think he has burned too many bridges. No, he is not allowing players to speak out against him and he doesnt want high earners in their late 20s. What happens when all these 24-25 year olds get "too old" in 3-4 years? Completely start again? Its clear that Jose will never sign a new contract and that reason is Mike Ashley. Likewise with Barton and Nolan. I would say the reason Jose isn't signing as he is expecting a top for premiership club or Barca/Madrid to come in for him. You say what happens when the 24 year olds are hitting 30; replace them? Well yeah if they are not upto it,as long as its planned for, is that wrong? Don't get all sentimenntal about Joey/Kev, nobody knows the facts but I doubt it was 5k a week just not the retirement fund they expected
  22. Spot on fella. No great shakes losing them really. If they really wanted to stay they would sign a contract that worked for both us and them rather than just themselves. Enrique has been a total cock about it all. Jonas is a model professional iyam. Yeah just a shame his end product is suspect at best and his scoring record is pretty shit although he is a great outlet for us and I like his hair when he runs too
  23. canny CT like, when he's completely and utterly proven to be an utter dick, and he will be in time, he's going to claim all those wildly optimistic posts he made [shared by jaysouthernmag, deano and Toonpack] were only done to "wind me up" Stop bringing me into your arguments you sad old twat and as for winding you up, trust me I've got better things to do than try and bait an old fool like you
  24. If Nolan wanted to stay he should have agreed to a shorter contract, going to West Ham smacks of taking the money, which is of course, is absolute right and Ashley needs to get as much in as he can. Remember Nick Butt blowing out of his arse after 50 minutes?, Smith sitting on the bench picking up 55k a week? Don't want Nolan doing that in 3 years time when he's fucked As for Barton saying he wants to stay, well sign a contract and prove it and not one that ties the club to you til you are 34. Remember he got paid for being banged up and while he served various bans. I know he's been a big improvement the last two seasons but come on, a bit of loyalty maybe?? Players show very little regard for honouring contracts and want everything on their terms and Ashley isn't allowing it, guess time will tell if he's right or wrong but I'm pretty sure we won't have players in their 30's going through the motions and picking up a fat wedge. As for Jose the way he has handled it is shocking, either sign or ask to leave. I would love him to sign a new deal BTW but 22 mil for him and Jonas, yes please considering Jonas is worth 5m max
