Too true -
Kevin Nolan signs for West Ham United
jaythesouthernmag replied to PaulR9's topic in Newcastle Forum
West Ham are now owned by the people who ran Birmingham "like a business" and have just been relegated. Ironic. They are also run "as a business" and Kevin Nolan finds them more attractive than NUFC who are also now being "run like a business". Work it out. Well if they are gonna pay him 50k a week on a 3 year deal with an option of an extra year then good luck to them. People were saying last year his legs were going so what will he be like in 2 or 3 years? Also, West Ham the same team who paid ALL Wayne Bridges 95k per week wages, lol. So as far as business goes that's bad business. Let's see what happens next see where we finish next season right ? Will the current transfer policy ever match the old one, that is the question. 4 years gone and counting. Sorry, not getting into that with you again Keep it on topic old fella -

Kevin Nolan signs for West Ham United

If he wasn't gonna be happy with what was offered and wanted 5 yr deal, which would have been mental to offer, then its best he goes now while there's a decent value in him. Don't get me wrong, I would rather he signed a 2 year deal and stayed but sadly he didn't. Joining West Ham shows a lack of ambition on his part tho plus as another poster said will be Tiote and Cabaye as first choice cm next season -
But Tiote has for £16.5m less than Henderson, sure he may come good but from what I have seen of him so far it's a massive gamble and I am not against us spending a relative pittance on players like Tiote, Cabaye or Ben Arfa. I have more faith in the latter two coming good than I do Henderson, nothing to do with bias but the fact they have shown genuinely ability over an extended period of time. I hope if a genuinely quality player that we need is within our grasp that we do spend the money but I would be gutted if we were spunking £20m on the likes of Henderson. Leazes seems to think as long as you spend lots of money on each player then you have done all you can, if they fail then it's fair enough because at least you were willing to piss away a massive amount of money on them which is showing ambition. Fuck scouting and trying to get good players at a reasonable price, that simply isn't ambition. Obviously this post really means I think Mike Ashley is god and everything he has done so far has been brilliant. omg. You, and others, just don't pay any attention to anything ? Do you seriously think if Liverpool had seen a cheaper player that they thought was as good, they would have signed him ? Give me a fucking break I've explained my view, numerous times. You DON'T BUILD A GOOD TEAM ON THE CHEAP........GET IT......EVERY TEAM HAS BIG PLAYERS, AND A FEW LUCKY OR WELL SPOTTED BARGAINS, AND A FEW HOME GROWN PLAYERS. BIG SIGNINGS ARE NECESSARY, YOU PAY THE GOING RATE, IT ENCOURAGES YOUR OTHER GOOD PLAYERS TO STAY, IT MOTIVATES THEM, IT MOTIVATES YOUR SUPPORTERS, IT PUTS YOU IN THE SPOTLIGHT, IT ATTRACTS PUBLICITY, IT SELLS SHIRTS, AND OTHER GOOD PLAYERS ARE ATTRACTED TO YOUR CLUB BECAUSE THEY SEE YOU AS A TEAM ATTEMPTING TO GO PLACES AND COMPETE AT THE TOP LEVELS OF THE GAME. JUST BECAUSE WE SIGNED TIOTTE DOESN'T MEAN WE ARE GOING TO FIND 9 MORE LIKE HIM FOR A FEW MILLION QUID, IT JUST DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT, IF IT DID THEN EVERYBODY ESPECIALLY THE TROPHY WINNERS WOULD ALSO BE DOING IT. FUCK ME BLIND. HOW MANY MORE TIMES. PS I'M NOT SHOUTING, JUST MAKING SURE YOU AND OTHERS READ IT PROPERLY. As a last comment in this post, exactly how many people decrying this signing by Liverpool [and their transfer policy which in all honesty is superior to ours and that is totally indisputable] have SEEN HIM PLAY other than just the derby game against us when they all disappeared ? Will somebody among all of you idiots kindly tell Sir Alex Ferguson he has been getting it all wrong for 25 years and should have been signing Tiotes all this time and saving his club hundreds of millions. Jeeeeezus ..... So now you compare us to Man Utd? Why not Barca,Madrid or City? We don't have the revenue streams or wealthy owners they have. Maybe we should get Ridsdale in as chairman I'm sure he would match your unsustainable spending plans
-
Again, why don't you wait till the window is closed before you start comparing the two? I'd rather spend wisely and get good value for money than pay silly money for the likes of Henderson. That doesn't make me pro-Ashley. Agree with this, It's a sensible approach. Liverpool are going to want C.L. on the back of this window as are Arsenal,Chelsea,Man U,Spurs and City. Do the math, 4 from 6 its a gamble. LM wants these superstar and big name signings but when you ask him if he agrees to the club doing it on the back of a massive debt he goes all teflon and spouts random stuff like Fred never owned the club, blah, blah, blah. Fred never owned the club. [and what does it have to do with Fred, stop derailing the thread before Holden McGroin and Gloomy come along and accuse you mind]. So you think we are better off buying players like Routledge, Lovenkrands and Best than we were with Shearer, Bellamy, Robert and getting into the Champions League then ? Answer the question. Also see my previous post. Look, the players you mentioned did a job, got us promoted and helped keep us up. Do I think we need more quality? Yes!! I would have 2 of Best,Ameobi or Lovenkrands as back up, we need 2 good strikers. Are we going to pay 25mil ,no. Top,top players want C.L., we can't and won't be offering it anytime soon. Neither will a lot of other clubs. In Cabaye,Ben Arfa and Tiote Ashley is showing what his plan is also by not being held to ransom and paying well over the odds. If Barton plays hardball he will loose same with Nolan, I think both should be offered 2 year deals, sign or play out their contracts and move on. Replace with quality, what's the problem? As for Jose, his heads been turned and he ain't staying, deal with it. It happens.

55 mil on a couple of players with limited prem experience and we sign a guy who's just won the double and broke into the France team for 4 mil, Jesus you are unbelievable Gazza and Beardsley didn't have much experience either lad, and fools like you swallowed the "good business" line then too. 20 mil for Henderson, u really are a mong. Hope your Mrs doesn't trust you with the household budget, magic beans??

Is Michael Owen an Agent of Evil?
jaythesouthernmag replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
When you think he was injured almost as much as Owen in a period in which Owen had two serious injuries and Martins didn't have any, it says a lot. I despise the pair of them tbh. I suppose at least Martins had the good grace to pretend he cared about the fans whilst the media savvy Owen could barely contain his disdain for us after 'lowering' himself to come here. The ONLY reason he came was money, Fred was the only mug dumb enough to shell out 16mil and 130k p.w. I said this previously, It's not a wise move to sign any player just on money, they need to want to come and play Fred never owned the club lad. Fuck off with your sad, sad, sad shite you old cunt. I seriously cant be fucking arsed to try and discuss anything with you, you are a fucking bore -

I agree and theres no disputing about league positions/Europe but we will never know what the outcome would have been had the club not been sold. With the massive debts and unsustainable running costs. The other point is we wouldn't have been able to compete with the top of now which is something the blinkered old fucker refuses to see -

See LM keeping stum on this, great business by Fred and co, this is precisely why Ashley is looking at up and coming players and not fucking has been, money grabbing, mercenaries like this cunt Is that also why Llambias claims they offered him £140k a week to sign a year's extension? That would've been a smart move. At least when Owen was signed he was still a top striker. Strange one that, one minute they offer Owen 140k the next they will only pay peanuts It was a while ago like, i.e. towards the end of the window just before KK walked. Presumably it was to stop him leaving for nothing. Just as fucking well he did in the end though. As an aside I would rather have Lovenkrands in my team and I think he's shite as well. And while I think Owen is a cunt he was about 100 times more professional than Martins. Yeah, in hindsight I know what you mean. I did have a soft spot for Martins but looking back he was just a quick player who could kick the ball hard and sometimes accurately. Obviously getting relegated again has Proberbly proved a bit too -

Wait until Ashley even matches the old boards league positions and european qualifications, never mind bettering them, before you start your misguided and ill- informed crowing. You're just talking bollocks again, but don't derail another thread. So do you consider Owen was good business?? listen sonny, if you are going to attack/defend/strategies, go the whole way and compare the results of the entire strategy. If you think Ashley's way is better than the way of the old board, put the proof up in terms of league positions, and european qualifications, but I'm telling you now, that selling your best players and buying cheaper replacements, will NEVER match the previous and is NOT good enough for a club like Newcastle United. You will NEVER post such proof, because it will NEVER happen. If you think every other club never makes mistakes in the transfer market [which is what you appear to be insinuating, either that or the entire strategy was the wrong one] then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. Micheal Owen, despite his injuries, age and the fact he was injured far too often when he was at Newcastle, is good enough for the Champions and European Cup Finalists, even just to sit on the bench. Would you prefer to see Peter Lovenkrands and Shola Ameobi in your team ? You're a deluded, stupid dickhead, tbh, and stop derailing the thread by asking me stupid questions which are not related to the subject title, or mentioning the previous owners who also aren't either. 3 paragraphs for a simple yes/no answer, good going even by your standards. As for Shola/ Lovenkrands I would rather have any player who tries and wants to play rather than someone who goes through the motions and picks up his dosh How is a question about Michael Owen in a Michael Owen thread off topic you fuckwitt?? -

Not everything the papers print is true you know I think selling him would be a big mistake and why would he go back to Bolton?? -
I'm twisting nothing. I've answered Mad Jock, and I'm answering you too. I bet as you type you are watching "NUFC best of the 80's" trying to get a glimpse of Seymour, McKeag etc promising us that "we will do all we can to keep our best players but if they want to leave we can't stop them" etc When will Mike Ashley actually "do better" than the hopeless Fred ? Straightforward enough, given as we've been waiting 4 years and it still hasn't happened. I never said Fred was hopeless but he did make some fucking stupid decisions and pay over the odds in wages and fee`s for players. Yeah there were great times and some exciting football played but also lows too. The club was in big debt and no matter how much you bury your head in the sand it wont change As for getting back to where we were, well in a nutshell it aint gonna happen and it wouldnt be happening even if Fred was still here. The club was on the slide before Ashley came in and yeah he has made fucking stupid mistakes and yeah I wish a mega money Arab would buy the club and spunk tons of cash on top drawer players because my deluded friend thats the only way NUFC can compete at the top Anyway I think by keeping the club on a sound financial footing is about the best we can hope Ashley will do which in turn may make it a better proposition to any potential buyers or maybe you would want Ashley to go fucking mental and mortgage the club to hilt to make big signings on 80k a week to chase the dream of the CL? What do you think stick or gamble?? easy question, even for you
