  1. Until a fee is actually agreed then i see nothing in him or Pieters starting for their sides.
  2. So when Tom mentions it its fine, as soon as i say something about it its not....fuckin jog on man you fickle toad. When did Tom mention it? In the Aly Cissokho thread.

  4. To be fair all the papers I read, said Liverpool totally dominated the first half, but the mackems were marginally the better side second half. The MOTD highlights from what I can remember which is very fuckin little given my state, showed it was all the dippers, but the BBC will always be biased to the WP's due to Hansen and Lawrenson's influence. Nowt to get carried away about a draw at Anfield (a naa a naa we've got fuck all there for a long while) but they're overrated massively I said before a ball was kicked they'll be 6th at best, I still think that. I always think we'll beat the mackems, always. I'd take a draw this time, we are flatter than Kate Moss's tits at the minute. Didnt you say a 3-0 hiding? I tend to agree with most you have to say, always a good read but i dont agree on the latter part in bold. How can you say we are flat after just one game of the season? Players are gelling and adapting whilst dealing with the pressures of playing for a club of our size in the best league in the world. 3-1 to us. Barton, Shola and Taylor.
  5. Eh? Come on snakey....cant you see? It would be a like for like replacement........ I'll stick with Eh? Bemusing. Sarcasm. I too dont see how selling Modric would make Spurs go for Tiote. Two VERY different players.
  6. If what i've been told today is true then i will be pissed off. We received 5.5mil for Jose and that was our bid to PSV. They want 7mil and the club wont go above 5.5mil. WTF? I mean we have money there and if we lose out on a quality LB for the sake of 1.5mil when we have it will be nothing short of an absolute disgrace. On the plus side, dutch media think the two clubs will agree a fee this evening and Pieters will be here for a medical thmora. I origionally liked the idea of us getting Pieters but after hearing that Cissokho (who is better) wants to come here and has put in a transfer request.......i'd hope the club just stop fuckin about and make an 8mil bid.
  7. Eh? Come on snakey....cant you see? It would be a like for like replacement........
  8. Nothing has been in the media lately no. Thats not to say that there arent 2 or 3 parties considering us. Come on, we are one of the biggest clubs in england, we have fantastic support home and away, we have a pretty young and talented squad that with a few good buys could be european contenders, we are looking ever stronger financially. We are beeing set up to be sold. I reckon at the end of this season when the new financial regulations come in and we are then a very very attractive proposition.
  9. Jusoda sKidmark... We recieved 35mil + 4mil Nolan + 2mil Routledge......add that too the 15mil Ashley should of put into the club aswell? Wow....imagine a 50mil+ transfer budget??? Now, i agree that we should have spent more than we have. However, 50mil+ is european club spending and we are not there....YET. I dont beleive in splashing the cash and then moaning because we still didnt make europe, which is probably the type of guy you are. Those days are gone, but i am sure they will return. Probably not under FMA but if we gradually progress financially and on the pitch then we are a more likely option for consortia who are probably monitoring our situation. Accept how things are now, see the positives, stay hopeful that the good times will come back around...be patient. I want FMA out as much as you.....just trying to enjoy supporting my club as much as i can whilst he is here.
  10. Cant stand Howard fuckin Webb. This will be stop start and full of bookings and possibly a red.....for clattermole. Still cant beleive its not on TV
  11. Based on what exactly? Expect Pardoo to say something like "We've moved heaven and earth to get someone in but it's not to be. Still, I've been delighted with Ryan there and he's made the position his own. I know he won't let anyone down, so I'm not disappointed with that." I have faith that we will get Pieters and i reckon 1 or 3 loan deals if we cant secure a striker permanently. Sturridge on loan would be ideal, and looking all the more likely that he will leave Chelsea on loan again. I've been told that Barton has told Pulis he will make a decision whether to go to Stoke after the mackem game. Obviously waiting to see if he can trust Pardews word on getting a LB and ST before next weekend. Are you fucking daft? Our last few transfer windows, thats what. We shouldn't be scratting around for unknown jonny foreigners and loan deals, we've knew since January we need a proper striker you thick cunt. We should be spending some proper money on players, after all we've got it. What a lovely grasp of the english language you have fella. Man you are a moron. So no clubs should look at foreigners then? Or loan deals? Fuckin MORON. We are not the massive club we once were. We need to be looking at these kind of deals to progress gradually without busting thr arse out of our financial predicament.
  12. Never heard of him before today. Has anyone? Tbh if it come to the end of the window and we got 1 or 2 of Sturridge, Macheda and Diouf on loan then i'd be happy enough with that. Would have to have a set future fee though. Otherwise all we are doing is improving and putting them in the shop window.
  13. I'd have him here, good technically and in the air too. Questions about his attitude may be why the club wont up their offer. Probably wanting big wages to match his big ego.
  14. Deano

    Coloccini

+ Tiote and Ben Arfa. both signed in the last year, doubt they're on big money compared to the likes of Colo and JB Tiote got a much improved contract before the end of last season though. £50k per week-ish supposedly. Does he get paid every 8 or 9 days like?
  15. You're doing it on purpose now surely? So you do have a brain! Just a personality that's missing then....
  16. I'd rather base my expectations on the fact he can get a game for one of the best international teams in the world, rather than someone who didn't blink an eyelid when I said Paul Sweeney was class. He was poor yesterday though, but he'll take time to settle. To be fair the French (for the next couple of years at least) are a team in transition, due to the WC fallout and a period of generational change. value of a French cap, apart from the emerging top-tier talent, has somewhat diminished now. Standouts coming through the ranks, like Eden Hazard and you can throw HBA into the mix if the latter is able regain his durability, swagger/confidence & form, will become fixtures in that side. But some 'dead ordinary' (to borrow another poster's tagline) types, one who happened to accompanied by two top-drawer creative talents in Hazard & Gervinho - with Sow as a late bloomer - in a championship winning outfit in a weak top-to-bottom league, will earn a few token caps as well along the way as well, as management continues to tinker & experiment with the 1st team. Cabaye's performance - and it's more to do with what is needed to compliment Tiote given that we virtually having nothing in the form of hold-up play from our frontmen (rendering the direct stuff/delivery from the back useless) and therefore more ball-carry/attacking drive is needed through the middle as a means glueing everything together from end-to-end though middle corridor - basically confirms a few things i have heard about him. This relates particularly to his largely anonymous role in a Lille outfit which pissed all over a weak league, largely thanks to the attacking chemistry in the final third of the park ie. the trio mentioned in the previous paragraph, who provided major headaches for just about everybody in France last year. If you actually knew much about Ligue 1/the French national team, you would at the very least be aware that Hazard is Belgian and has 20 caps for his country. Not France. And again - you saw one match. You've written him off playing for us after one match. On top of that, one moment you're making it that you've seen a lot of Lille and then the next you're telling us that "I've heard a few things about him". What's your obsession with overly long sentences anyway? On the basis of that game, i saw parts of his repertoire that were very comparable to Emre ie. neat & tidy on the ball (pretty was my original wording) but is lacking an incisive edge going forward. The central midfield balance has Parker/Emre feel about it. Tiote, obviously an infinitely better version than Parker the provider of defensive steel (with the efficient link-play to match, which was astray off on Sat), with Cabaye being saddled with the responsibility of unlocking defense lines through the middle of the park, during second phase play. Emre didn't really have the necessary forward drive, that aforementioned incisiveness going forward hence the balance (as central midfield units go) wasn't right. One doesn't need that long a timeframe to measure up the units' collective mix attributes (especially if there are only two to measure up), to get a feel as to how a unit stacks against previous versions, for better or worse. I'll repeat what i said earlier, his lack of 'forward drive' fits into what i know of his style of play was in France, what his role was in a Lille outfit that killed teams on the back of the attacking exploits of three players. It may no longer be the case now, due to the influx of Arab money at PSG as they have the financial means to build a strong goal-to-goal team quickly, but it's always been possible snare a league title (a bolter-from-the-blue of sorts) in France with an otherwise workmanlike outfield sprinkled with less than a handful of attackers which are a cut above what's on offer throughout the rest of the league. One doesn't have to watch hours of satellite sport coverage, that being the French 1st div, to know this. It's a characteristic of the league, and Lyon have done well to stonewall that trend, in recent years. Lille fit into that surprise packet category. It's easy for a role-player type to have their reputation enhanced, because they were simply part of a league winning outfit, despite not being a vital cog in that team's title winning play in a bolt-from-the-blue type of campaign. BTW find a reference, and quote it, where i have insinuated that i'm some sort of Lille Football devotee. The answer is you won't. From what I've seen so far, he looks like an ok role-player type (when combined with what I've heard & read about him), but not somebody who is capable of carrying the team's attacking drive through the middle of the park, to provide balance and a central threat thus alleviating the pressure & attention HBA will attract in the advanced attacking areas. I've seen similarly zip-eyed footballers, even smaller but with equal technical prowess on the ball, footballers from Japan & Sth Korea provide more attacking intent & grunt through the middle of the park. Anyway two can play at your game. Why don't you take a trip back to dreamland, on your often ridden high-horse, where you can once again & conveniently cast off an opinion in the guise of a 'hypothetical question'. Something once again along the lines of, or that envisions a better performing club without Dekka as Ashley's 2nd-in-charge. Maybe you should simply revert to type, and pop up with a few more Jesus Wepts, and take a few more pop-shot at those assumption making Mystic Megs out there who have based their deserved level of criticism, and accompanying level of cynicism where the current regime's running of the club is concerned, based on four years of devaluation of the club's football brand. Woosh. Someone's had their wheatabix. Pretty post with pretty words but your opinion on Cabaye is also pretty premature. Cabaye will be our midfield maestro once adapted.

Friend of a friend knows Rob Lee, Beardsley and Alan Thompson and has played golf with JB on few occasions. I just get txts now and then, some are right, some are wrong. Dont claim to be itk just passing on what i've been told. ok?

  19. Spot on. Even though we werent at our best yesterday and lets be honest it is going to take a few games fot the lads to gel and find a rhythm. Sunderland away is perfect fixture to ignite our season. They werent at their best yesterday neither but we have, by far a better team.
  20. Cheers CT my fellow comrade I actually couldnt give a shit about what the VAST majority of posters on here have to say or their pathetic attemps at put downs. Sad little men with nothing better to do. I pitty them really. However their are a few on here who are still interesting, positive or at least balanced and actually do talk with passion for the club, as apposed to the others who are here because they are 35 year old and single or married to a fat bird whos more interested in X factor and pizza than them. Positivity got me this far in life......Oh and i do love a good formation though
  21. Funny thing is its the same people on here who are near enough righting him off already as to who were underwhelmed by his signing. Then you have the proper football people on here who can see what he will bring once he settles. Some just expect it all now. He works hard and did sit deep yesterday, alot down to our game plan i'd of thought. Plus it was his 1st game in england against strong opposition. I fancy him to be one of the outstanding players next weekend along with Colo, Tiote and Barton.
  22. Sunderland DID score yesterday and we had zero creative attacking play. Its pretty simple Tom. I would rather we went into the game with a decent chance of winning, not hoping we can sneak a goalless draw. Toms right like CT. The mackems were shite yesterday and were lucky to get a draw. You seem to have lost your positivity fella I have the utmost faith that Cabaye will become the creative force through the middle, drive and delivery down the right from Barton. Tiote will step up again and Jonas will run and run and run and... The big decision is who starts upfront. Has to be Ba and Best for me. Maybe even Vuckic and Ba. Then again...we will have a new striker in wont we?
  23. Im pretty sure we will have Pieters for the mackem game like, if not then Jonas would do a job at LB. Marveaux or Obertan just infront of him.
