Atmosphere was absolutely shite yesterday until we were 0-3 down, nee excuses, too many middle class wanks at the game these days. If people don't want to hear pissed up lairy doilums shouting and swearing take their wives and kids in to the family enclosure. Also the people in the Leazes making aeroplane gesticulations, fuck off you disgraces to Tyneside. The game itself we weren't that bad, it wasn't a 0-3, if Cisse's goal had've stood anything could've happened. Santon had a good game, but this 442 pish had to end. It's purely to pacify Demba and Cisse, we're a 433 team, everybody knows it.

Aye. I'm not claiming to be Alan Whicker here ye knaa, I've just been to Northern France, Belgium and Holland a good few times, for football and other journeys. I've been to Lille twice, I've been to Lens which is fucking tiny, and they're very very like Northern England. They're not like the curled up lip French stereotype at all, and I'd say the people in Lens were mint, to say they were expecting a major riot. The police were cunts though. I've been to Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Charleroi and Liege, and the first two are very different from the last two for the exact reasons Chez alluded to. It's like two countries, the top end look like dutch, the bottom look like they're from Burnley with a hint of Phillipe Albert about them. People say Belgium is boring, I think it's a fuckin mint country, and the perfect place to go and watch football. I tell you what though, they're not as passionate about their national team as most countries are, again possibly because it's a divided country.

Gritty, down to earth. It's more Newcastle than London.

Belgium is real. It's got a real feel to it even though it's like two countries in one, with the Flanders and Wallonia. Charleroi even on the face of it, is a bit shite, but it's still got character. There's nowt pretentious about Belgium, the people are MUCH uglier than the dutch especially in the south but I like it and the people I found really like the English, nowt like the krauts or the french. Antwerp's a nice place too, very nice.

I can vouch for that. We went to this pub, I forget what it's called but it's famous, about 160 year old, and the decor is exactly as it was when it first opened, and had hoose kriek (Strawberry Beer), best drink I've ever had. Also stuff like Juliper, and Stella on the pumps over there I donno it tastes different, and there was no hangover the next day.

You can get fish and chips in Brussels man! They taste like wors too. Surely that gives them some points, ah ANNND there's Ladbrokes all over Brussels.

As beautiful a country as France is, they're well behind Britain. Half the fucking country would be happy being communist man. 40 years behind us. Brussels is a more advanced city than anywhere I've been in France and that's a bold statement.

FWIW I'm pleased I was banned because the people on TT have been genuinely older and wiser, with less of the clearasil brigade here, with more people providing a good laugh (mancmag, Alex, certain unintentionally hilarious posts by the fish etc....) than this over there.
