Aye but it rarely works out like that when you look at international competitions too. France v Brazil springs to mind. I'm trying to think of the last time this happened at club level? Roma 84. There was many more Roma fans than Liverpool. Actually did Sporting Lisbon not have it in the UEFA Cup?

I'll put a lot of money on them to do it if we come 4th. Personally I think Bayern are a good side, but they're really not that good. Whoever wins it this year will be easily the worst side to be Champions of Europe, since European football histories worst ever champions in 2005.

Hmm well I don't mean to be a Contrary Colin, but most of us on here are aged between 22 and 40. That being the case Newcastle have never won a trophy in any of our life times. It's a pretty sad state of affairs, and I for one would have swapped their season for ours. A trophy, three Wembley appearances and the same European competition as us. If we get in the Champions League I might have to revise that. Yes they've been pony though, but only pony by their standards, they've been better than we were last season on paper.

:( Obviously I can relate to this, the worry, the stress for so many people around him must be unbelievable. I've been there from the outside looking in at someone I love, he's winning, but this is heart breaking. Miracles happen, he can only hope for that, but I hope whatever makes him happy happens in what time he's got left. Hard to read, but what a brave man. They're all brave men.

It was 68. 69 was when we came third in 2003.

He'd be like that Sword wielding cunt on Raiders of the Lost Ark, not that I've got a gun like. We all post on here, and we all have posters we prefer, and ones we just don't like for our own reasons. I realise plenty people think I'm a bit of a cunt, but I don't really care, and my point is he is one I've always thought was a dark sinister knob. The amount of times he's been a patronising twat, not specifically to me, but to people in general. Nee need.
-
More to the point 68 points. A victory at the blue dippers would match our points tally the last time we came SECOND. Everton exist to hate Liverpool though it'll be a very difficult game for us. I've accepted the fact we've come 5th its a good season, 9/10 for Pardew and the lads.

and you're terribly boring you angry little mug, with insults behind the anonymity of your monitor. Shut the fuck up you precious fucking non-entity, I've mentioned your job twice (and not slagging it off) you fucking boring faceless bell whiff. Fuckin karate kid there. Come back when there's a semblance of a personality there.

We had a go at buying it with our own money though, there's the difference, when Fletcher made us the second richest club in the country.

I was going to write that regarding maximum efficiency, but it's too difficult for many to take in without saying you're generalising. It's fucking spot on! The list I did, off the top of my head, I didn't want to put Boro in, but as hard as it is to believe checking a few records Boro have spent more time in the top flight than all bar 15 clubs, and throughout history, they've spent more time in the top division than outside, and are also the 16th best supported club in English football history. I can't bring myself to put Boro in, though they're as grotty as Blackburn or Stoke in my eyes.

All of the teams in the Barclays Premier League are there on merit. Wigan deserve their place, they've been fantastic in the last 6 weeks. However, when you compare their fanbase with others, and the interest other clubs generate, it's not completely unreasonable to say they're punching above their weight, but good luck to them, and Blackburn did and have for years. At the end of the day, how well you manage a club dictates what sort of side you can put out, but in terms of tradition and fan base I'd say the following are the teams who will believe they're being mismanaged if they're not in the Premiership, there's no right and wrong it's just my opinion. Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool Newcastle Chelsea Tottenham Everton Man City Sunderland Leeds Aston Villa West Ham Sheff Wed Wolves WBA Nottingham Forest Derby Leicester Sheff Utd Ipswich

It was said firmly tongue in cheek, Lee Clark style circa 1991. I know you have an extremely tough noble job, I admire you for it, but seeing as though you're in the hospital on a daily basis, see if they can have that humour bypass reversed eh?
-
Well as someone with no feelings about Blackburn, I think they should be like contestants on Bullseye in the 80's "eeh Jim we've ad a luvleh day, its been smashin".
-
What a load of bollocks. How do you know he's a shit manager? You're just like half the people on here, all you can see is stats. Look between the lines. Bradley Orr said he's the best manager and coach he's ever worked with last night, and this is a guy who was managed by SBR, Hughes and all manner of other people. "Plenty other managers could've kept that squad up", fucking Herbert Chapman would've struggled, their defence is abysmal, that's not Kean's fault, it's all they have left to work with. Their best player this season was an inspired FREE TRANSFER, Kean pushed through. If he was so shit, do you think he'd have had the tactical nouse to go to Old Trafford and win. He's achieved miracles keeping them in the hunt for safety imo. Like I say I hope he comes back and shuts a few mugs up me.
-
I wouldn't because our level is where I believe we should be, when you look at the size of the club, the size of the business, and the size of our fanbase. Blackburn's level as Sammy insuated is the Championship. I'd feel differently if I was a Blackburn fan, but they've had a good run, and should be delighted where their little journey has taken them. Apologies for calling Burnley a shithole, I forgot you lived there, I've never been there, only ever seen it on telly, been to Accrington, Darwen and Blackburrrrrrn loads of times, but never been to Burnley. Jesus himself couldn't have kept Blackburn up this season. They only had a chance with Nelsen and Samba, not when those two arseholes are crying the whole season to be away, and Venkys only too happy to show them the door. Kean will be back, and (without sounding like Leazes protege) we'll see who was right. Ferguson was a shite manager at one time according to most, to the extent there was a boycott at Old Trafford to get rid of the cunt! Against Newcastle one of the games.
-
Been saying the same thing for years, said it to Billy Castell and he fucked off and I got the blame. Blackburn are a lower championship club in terms of fanbase who I repeat have massively over achieved for 22 years. I don't think there's any difference between Blackburn, Burnley and Huddersfield as clubs when you look at the bricks and mortar. All from little godforsaken shitholes, plagued with racial problems, which show you what towns looked like in the 1920's, who used to be successful clubs winning titles in the good old days. Jack Walker made Blackburn different, but he's gone, so are the millions and they should accept what they are.

Before 1971 we were a bigger club than you, more trophies won, higher attendances generally through our history etc..., you've won more since and have a bigger global fanbase as a result. Your global fanbase will disappear the longer you spend languishing in mid table, with 5,000 empty seats like your last league game. Wasn't much higher than our worst gate in the Championship, which proves my point we have a bigger local fanbase than you do. Liverpool are perceived as a bigger club though, and rightly so due to your ability to win trophies, however, one thing I can say with certainty is we are a better side than you from back to front. Significantly so imo, you need about 8 players just to get Tottenham's level. We don't. The likes of Spearing, Henderson and Flannagan wouldn't get anywhere near our bench. The Liverpool crowd is making life hell for the likes of Carroll, there's a horrible atmosphere around the club, you've spent £40m net since the new yanks came in, and the question has to be can you keep hold of your big name players like Suarez? If bigger clubs made their interest firm I'm sure you'll struggle, as you found with Owen and Torres. The future is looking as bright as it has for years for us, and as bleak as it has done since Souness for you, Enrique may be on more money, but he looks miserable, he looks like he doesn't want to play for Liverpool for me, and Carroll looked the same, I think it took him a year to get the toon out of his system, we all know where he'd rather be, with or without a ridiculous 80k a week contract. Hope you win tonight though.
-
Shola will never play for another club that much is true. I think he'll get contracts to 2016 remarkably and retire. I'm of the opinion that Pardew loves him.
-
The paper saying that we'll lose 6 or 7 (including people who's contracts are up) before we buy. Well I was aware of that, something that completely slipped my mind was fucking Xisco will be receiving £50,000 a week from the club for the next 14 months still! Wise should be made to pay it.
-
Poor Kean, he's had to sell his best players, had dressing room mutiny, little or no help from the board, it's Venky's who have fucked the club up not Kean. The shite he's put up with from the fans, was unreal, small time town small time club. I think they'll end up with some Phil Brown type and the next stop is probably League One. Lets be honest, Blackburn have over achieved for over 20 years, bottom of the Championship top of League One is probably their level, I'm only sad to see them go because it's a good away day. Probably the ugliest supporters in British football too.
-
The support has been wank this season, the players have performed better than the crowd. That fat bastards L7 policy, has fucked it beyond repair. You can see The Corner of the Gallowgate singing from the leazes, but you can hardly hear them. Even the Sunderland game this year was half as good as normal.
-
I doubt any of them were physically sick with nerves! FFS so embarrassing, cunts gave out a big cheer as well. I only had 4 pints before the game so it's not like I had a skinful.

Krul 0 Perch 1m Santon 5m Colo 9m "Willo" 1.5m Ben Arfa 5m Cabaye 4m Tiote 3.5m Jonas 0 Ba 0 Cisse 9m Elliot 100k Shola 0 Obertan 3m Ferguson 0 Raylor 2.5m Gosling 0 Marveaux 0 £43.6m Hart 1m Zabaleta 6.5m Lescott 24m Kompany 6m Clichy 12m Nasri 23m De Jong 10m Yaya 25m, Barry 19m Silva 25m Aguero 40m Tevez 25m Pantilimon 2m Milner 21m Johnson 7m Kolarov 19m £275.5m I thought we'd hyped it up too much to get a result, and fair play to them they're the best team in that league by a distance. Fuck knows how Chelsea have done better in Europe, they're so solid. I was so nervous before the game I was physically sick, walking up that road adjacent to the East Stand with the orange building on either side. We did ok, I just would've liked to have seen us attack and bit more but it's a catch 22 against them, Man Utd and Spurs attacked them and got beat 1-6, worthy champions, and Kompany is as good a centre half as English football has seen for two decades, what a player, can't think of one thing he struggles with. Seems a good bloke too, and his crack about us being one of THE best sides and clubs in English football was excellent. He's right though. Lots to be proud of, I mean you've got "Willo" a £1m defender against a twin £65m Argentinian world wide star strike force, and he didn't do bad. The Man City fans on here have been very gracious and good crack, but their fans after the game. What a fucking set of arseholes. Arrogance was unbelievable. It's their first title in 80% of their supports life time. I'm not a fighter but I did well not to start in the pub like. These cunts right, skinny little rodent mugs, and their pal who looked like Keith Lard, on at me saying they deserved Mansour more than we did cos we used to get 10,000 every season. Was like red rag to a bull, so I reeled off everything you can imagine about their shit club, from 400 away supports here, to 3,000 gates in the FA Cup, they soon shut the fuck up. Apparently we'll be back in midtable next season too. The one thing I said that wound them up the most was they're nothing special and had Mansour bought a non league club they could've won the title. It's a fact. The most plastic club on earth, far more so than Chelsea, at least Chelsea were a biggish club competing for the top four under Bates, Man City have had about five good seasons league wise in their entire fuckin history. Massively hope QPR fluke it next week.
-
Wasn't bad four or five years ago because it was full of people from Manchester. Your OOT clueless support is getting bigger though, more foreigners than owt else it seems, who wouldn't know their Michel Vonk's from their Bernardo Corradi's.
-
Hehehe. There should be a democratic vote on it.
