  1. why not ask the people who forecast doom and gloom, that totally ignore that the club was a well run high flying football club for over a decade, that very question ? But you won't, or if you do, you won't get a reply. Silly boy. Well ran? I wouldnt go that far like LM. Not paying HMRC any VAT or PAYE and using that to fund the running of the club?
  2. I think every club has has the same discussions with HMRC on image rights. Just in case anyone thinks our case was unusual.
  3. On the OP about debt of clubs. It's foolish to think clubs are immune to action when they push too far. I think LM is wrong when the undertone of his posts suggests nothing will happen to a club however he is bang on when saying clubs are a "different" business. I use a credit report facility at work and when you look at NUFC as a standard business it is shocking, but no shocking than other clubs, in fact better than many. According to the report, they wouldn't even get credit at PC World to buy a PC such is their recommended limit. Coming into today not only do we have the Rangers debacle on going and Portsmouth on the precipice but Port Vale have again gone into administration. On Rangers though, I was reading how they got in to such a mess. Essentially it seems they should never have been bought by whyte. He paid off the original club debt of £18m and bought the club for £1. He funded it though by loaning £24M from future ticket sales. Then also used unpaid VAT and PAYE money to fund day to day running (at a loss). It's only because HMRC have caught up with the club that this came out. Rangers need to come out of administration but it's unlikely (not impossible) they would be liquidated. More likely a CVA will be agreed much to the annoyance of the rest of the league. Or a new Rangers is founded buying the assets of the old co and getting voted back in to the league. I think it is scare mongering to suggest NUFC were at that stage though. We had debts and were mortgaged up to the hilt. There were no other means of borrowing but there was no hidden HMRC debt about to come crashing in. The difficulty I think for NUFC would have been further down the road. Unsure how they would have continued to fund losses.
  4. Whereas Sunderland are a shining example to all. You must be proud. I don't think any Newcastle fan sees our club as being whiter than white, but your obsessive nature and huge chip about all things Newcastle blinker you to just how crass your own fans generally are. You cannot seriously look at the actions of your fans and take a holier than thou attitude?
  5. It's one where I don't see any reason he has to lie. He suggested fans thought MA supported Spurs but he corrected it and said Chelsea. Makes no difference really.

It did. Aye I kinda done that and with a bit of messing got it to work. Cheers.
  7. He's a cunt. I can't believe a thing that bloke says. This si why I try to concentrate only on what happens on the pitch, because that twat of a man gets my back up every time he takes action on something or opens his mouth.
  8. LM, do you think Rangers will come out of this unscathed?
  9. 95% of the time thats right. There is the odd time when the club fights off any offer and resists (Modric) but in most cases a daft offer is accepted (Carroll, Torres, Berbatov, Ronaldo)
  10. It did, I remember it. Then again, as a fan base we seemed to boo fairly regular. I recall the booing at the end of the 1-1 draw v Charlton before KD got sacked. I have never booed in my life at a game, or anyone I know, but we hear it. Then again, you manage expectation dont you? It is about expectation at that time not against something that might happen 10 years down the line. who said 10 years ? Do you know how long Mike Ashley is going to own the club ? I don't, but I'm confident enough when I say that despite those saying "we are doing it like Spurs" we will not match Spurs nor the old owners [who DID do what Spurs are doing ie backing their manager] At least you accept that expectations have been lowered. Some idiots have been saying for over 4 years now that this is not the case and that statement when it was made was rubbish. I just picked 10 years as an example. Of course expectation has been lowered. It has to be. In my opinion its been lowering for ages. When we were last in the CL under H&S we followed it with a lower-mid table finish. 14th. The next season would you expect fans to think we would get to the CL again? I doubt it, Europe I suspect people would hope for or maybe top half. We finished 7th but then the next year 13th so we were becoming a mid table side. We always wanted Europe but I dont think expectation has been CL for a long time. Now under this lot they took us down, the message from them was then survival and rightly so. Anyone expecting CL would be mental Same as now, its managing expectation and at the moment I think most realistic people say aiming for the Europa league this season is now reasonable and you would think the same next season also. As for "doing a Spurs", not sure if anyone has said exactly that (if so, fair enough, not seen it), but Spurs have spent a shit load of money to get where they are. When you consider they have bought players like Bent, Modric, Berbatov, Defoe, Keane, Pav and Van der Vaart etc. I know they have sold a lot but they have spent much more. Last season they "pocketed" £27M but you need to consider the seasons before they spent £17M, £5M and £20M respectively. I dont think its right to say we are doing an anyone. They have a way they are running the club now to meet the financial fair play rules which is good, but I think thats a convenience not because they have to. I doubt they would be running up masses of debt if the rules were not in place.

  12. Incidently, on the subject of Agents fees, we paid out £6.3M last year. Most was Man City on £9M. We were 5th. I assume this was down to the likes of Ba where we know a free transfer typically has a high agent fee.
  13. and booed a team for only finishing 5th.................and will wank themselves silly at finishing 7th. Oddly, I know not a single person who booed us finishing 5th. Not one.
  14. Torres was ok for them though so at the time you'd have thought they sold a decent forward. Just turned to shit when he left. They've made a shit load from sales like but have spent a shit load as well.
  15. He is right like. Only fans are fixated by the actual value of the player. The club (or business) iirc holds it as an intangible asset. The wages, agent fees and even the shorts he wears all just make up part of the accounts. I see no reason why increasing agents fees are not relevant given that it is a cost that ha to be paid and has to be accounted for somewhere.
  16. Never liked Best and i think if we replace Lovenkrands with a decent replacement we wouldnt need him. Same with Perch / Williamson.
  17. Dont have a problem with a smaller squad so long as we add quality and ship out some of the dross. There is room for a smaller squad. Replace Williamson Lovenkrands Dump Smith Perch Best Ranger
  18. He has, agreed. We should have expectation in line with our size and income. 6th or 7th in country. This your bet? How we going to measure this? Over 15 years? I'll take the bet then, to be paid out in 2022? You're taking the outliving route here aren't you

    VLOOKUP (excel)

Reet, I need help with a forumula. I have a column that I enter text in to (. On another sheet I have a list of model numbers To the right of these model numbers I have 20 columns of data On the front sheet in the column next to the tex ( I have a forumula (in col C) that is =IF(COUNTIF(Sheet1!A:A,Quotation!B29)>0,VLOOKUP(Quotation!B29,Sheet1!A:C,2,FALSE),"") What that does is look at the next sheet and pull a cell of text across where the text I enter matches. What I want to do is not only pull that one cell across but all 20 cells across each column. Not sure how to
  20. Right enough. And while my initial reaction to selling a player like tiote would be "you fucking idiots" if it brought in two players of a similar caliber my stance would soften. Plenty of players to leave before Tiote though but while they would have a positive effect on the wage roll they wouldnt command much of a fee.
  21. Was a strong rumour all over the net like but I cant see any more mention other than that. Seems very plausible though.
  22. I agree that we could do with a smaller but better squad. there are a load of players we could move on and only replace every other one. But Im talking about the Smiths, Perchs and Lovenkrands and not Tiote's, That said, the former wont command much of a fee (only a save in wages) while tiote would. Like I felt Pardew did, its almost like he is asking for an approach.
