  1. Ok then lets see. I dont actually have an opinon about many of them, generally those in the middle of my list. 1 Sunderland – Shit city. Fans have enough chips (with cheese on them) to feed a small country. Completely obsessed with nufc more than the love of their own club. 2 Manchester utd – Take the fans out I'd have these at the bottom of the list. As it happens, they have fans who Ive yet to have a good experience with. 3 Everton – Liverpools Sunderland. 4 Wolves – Shite club, shite fans, shite accent 5 Stoke – What is it with their fans? Only thing I like about stoke it Faye. 6 Birmingham – Again, the accent. does my head in. Big city but much of it a shit tip. 7 Tottenham – Nightmare ground, shite to get in/out. Fans so far up their own arse living in the 80's. 8 Liverpool – When I was younger I thought we had a lot in common with Liverpool (not in terms of success of course), but working class etc and respect for their fans. Now though their constant black cloud and need for pity makes me want to puke. 9 Wigan – Meh 10 Aston Villa – Despite the accent, I have little for or against Villa 11 Blackburn – meh 12 Bolton – Good family club but I didnt like their football under FS, less so when I saw for myself how bad it was when he came here. 13 West Ham – Aye 14 Man City – Credit to their fan base who stuck with them through rough times. Turning into another Chelsea now, if the fans get an ego as big as their transfer fund they will rapidly rise to be hated 15 Chelsea – Really not keen on some of their players and their attitudes. But, Chelsea were up there with us when we were fighting in the top 4 before the money came to them. 16 Fulham – Another family club in a good area. Nowt against them and was good to see them do well last year. 17 WBA – They often play good flowing football. I used to like their fans who would normally be in good voice at SJP. They were poor last year though despite their league position. 18 Arsenal - Really enjoyed watching them play under AW. While I think he has aged twice as fast due to pressure, you have to admire the bloke. Of the top four, Id much rather see these back up and winning the league. 19 Blackpool – Well done to them, I doubt they will stay up but I hope they enjoy it.
  2. There's two types of man U fans though. I've never had any problem with one that goes to games. Pretty much all of them seem genuinely grateful for their success and only use it to lord it over other mouthy fans (liverpool). The one's that don't go tend to be twat ends that think they've got a devine right and would lay into a Blackpool season ticket holder for paying to watch crap. Well, I have to disagree but only from my own experience. Man Utd away a couple of years back me and two mates ran into a load of them at a services. Complete bunch of wankers. We started having a bit craic and they quickly got onto the subject of shearer. From there it started getting kinda heated and one lad I was with, well, he is a bit of a trouble magnet like but before it kicked off the police kinda ushered us away. Another is a customer I have. Typical arrogant manc. Much like my now ex-employee. Basically I see them as arrogant with a unjustified hatred (read: spit dummies out over him) of Alan Shearer (yeah, he didnt join you, get the fuck over it). I used to like Liverpool fans as again, down to my own experience Ive had good craic with them. Went to a few away games there and was a good laugh. But by fuck do they whinge. Most brummie teams would be close to the top of my list, only because the accent does my head in.
  3. Man Utd as a club is there to be admired. But the fans... fuck me, I have yet to meet a bigger bunch of arrogant twats. I really cannot stand them. Every time I meet a Man Utd fan I find him a complete twat. For me, this would make them near the top. Probably no 2. Shame as the club itself has achieved things we could only dream of.

Just to comment on some of these: @Sammy - The castle pic, great how the everything pulls your eye to the castle. Something Ive only just started doing is getting more foreground in my landscape shots as like you have shown it gives a better feel for scale and distance. @Nyff You're getting some great images with that camera. Very industrial feel to that with the tractor. Are you using a filter? @DrK Good example of breaking the rules, agzain are you using a filter there or are the colours enhanced?

    Some cracking images here like.
  6. Aye, its a bit of a mindfuck thinking of what was there before the universe? What is that big black space made from? It must have started as something. There must be an end somewhere? I'm sure I read somewhere that they reckon 'space' is made up of dark matter, and if you travel 14 billion light years you reach the 'edge of the universe' which is a wall of cosmic background radiation, I'd love to know whats behind ut. Would love to fully understand atronomy / physics and stuff! There are some great documentaries on this sort of stuff. I'll dig them out later and post them I watched an interesting (no really!) program about Dark Matter. They call it that because basically they can't work out what keeps space, in place. stars, planets yadda yadda, dont fit their usual rules so they made up Dark Matter so they equasion worked. Now of course they are throwing dark force into the pot as well. Science is a funny thing as well, It's only Science Fact until they realise it is wrong and change the face to their new theory.
  7. I'm not athiest, I do have beliefs, but I hold them very close and see religion as a very personal thing. I'm not keen on organised religion of any kind as for it is all "man made". I was christened a Catholic and technically remain so. But I can't stand all the pomp and ceremony of any religion, which really is where Man has taken an opportunity benefit themselves (usually for money). I used to class myself more as spiritual. Not sure what I'd say these days. In some sense its a state of mind, a coping mechanism but I really dont see personal religion as a bad thing ~ until it starts affecting those around you. I'm generally very open minded and while I'd take the piss (often I do), deep down I respect anyone's beliefs. again, so long as they dont affect others.

Aye the rules of composition are just there as a guide and also there to be broken. But overall by considering them for a shot before you take it does make you think more about what the image is.

@AmericanMag - I use Flickr - I'm also in a few groups in Flickr, I use it mainly to get critique on my shots. Best way to learn imo. Nice shots from you as well. I'm still after some good water-type shots using the long shutter as you did there. I've just ordered a 2stop ND filter as well. Also a nice silhouette shot. Good stuff. @Nyff I love that beggar shot, fantastic image all round. I'd have probably cropped the street pic a little to cut out the lines, great composition though. @KD Its a canny shot just a shame it was with the phone. you can get good shots with phones though. would look even better if the sky can more contrast. If its an iphone then some apps may do that.
  10. Thats nowt. It's easy for any business to have small straggling amounts on their ledger. Likely wrote off a long time ago by the airline and just needed tidied up by Portsmouth.
  11. Can someone translate for me?
  12. Its your Mother, same thing from your point of view.

Great shots there Sammy. Great examples of good composition. I like looking at other people's images at it kinda gives me a creative hoof up the arse. @HF Im impressed with focus on the bugs like. Its the one thing I've really struggled with. I have a 105mm macro which is manual focus only. I tend to take 10-20 images of one subject and maybe 10% have the focus I want. Its hard to appreciate that until you are standing there trying to get the image and your breathing alone take the subject in and out of focus.

Not sure if it was intentional but it looks like its out of a western. We subscribe to a digital photography magazine (http://www.photoradar.com/photography-magazines) which is useful for learning new techniques plus they have a photograph of the year competition which is good for giving you a kick up the arse and ideas for new shoots, I've not been out for ages and spent some time with the camera but when I next do then Im going to play around with HDR techiques. Not meant to be out of a western like The shot is from up in thye cheviots when there was low cloud. I wanted to capture the outlines of the people at the cairn but also increased the colour contrast in the foreground.

    Basically...

Which I get too much of. If a kid stood in the middle of my street and started acting the clown in an unfunny way, he likely would get attention. But, to be fair you are right, feed the troll and all that.

I know people say "its the internet" as if that excuses all rational for not being a complete and utter twat. Puzzles me why people go on one way on a forum and yet wouldnt say fuck all face to face. I dont understand your "really Gay" comment either. Because his post was really, really, really stupid sounding. This really is pathetic No it wasnt. I thought it a genuine post from him. Why do you struggle with that and the need to go on like an arse? If you didnt agree with him, and didnt want his advice, why not just say thanks for the sentiment but I'm happy with how I go on? Actually, forget that, I suppose I need to remember you're just a kid and probably won't cringe at this for another 10 years.

I've spent about £1500 on my current set up. But you dont ahve to have a DSLR to have good images. I've seen some cracking images just taken with iPhones. Its more about the composition of the image.

I know a few on here are into Photography. So I thought I'd start a thread for throwing a few up. Not just images of the north east as in the other thread. Currently I use a Nikon D3000. Have the 55mm kit lens, 105mm fixed macro and a 70-300mm telephoto. I use the trekpod mono/tripod. Also about to get myself a coken filter set. I have a polarising filter but need a 0.6 ND filter so I can get into more landscape stuff.
  21. Nice one. I've got the Nokia D3000. If you're into or getting into photography then get yourself on flickr. Good for getting feedback on composition etc. I've been self taught since the new year and coming on canny.
