Unjust I was out driving and I passed this horse. It was in a tiny bit of land covered by tree's and overgrown with nettles etc. It was fenced in and behind it was a large open field. It just didnt seem right to me so this was how I interpreted the shot. It was basically done by waiting until the horse was framed and then focussing on the barbed wire with a large aperture (5.6).

As shot. No real editing done to this one. Grain Couple of images here. The first on I took as a standard image then in Photoshop I converted it to b&w and increased the contrast. The second image I set the ISO as high as it goes (3200 on my camera) for a deliberate grainy effect. I then cropped the image (to loose sky etc) as I only wanted what you see. The Drink This was taken in my garden after the rain had settled. Some of the plants retaining water drops. Was taken with my macro lens and I did push up the vibrancy in photoshop to increase the green. Bee Oh come on, everyone has a Bee shot!

Ok, from another perspective. I was like many in that I had to let people go last year. Coming into this year as work increased I have had to try and get more out of the people I have. However, I would not ask someone to work past their hours unpaid. I have had some people offer to work longer and instead Ive then let them finish early on a friday for example. To me, its times like these when you see who wants to work for the business and is interested in the companies interests, and who is just there to get paid and do as little as possible. We had one of the latter as well. He left last month. From your point, I would say sure do "some" extra work hours but you can do as little or as much as is convenient to you. So if you stay an extra hour a couple of times a week, make sure they know. If they ask why the work isnt complete you can say you worked extra hours to try and get it done but there simply wasnt enough time etc. They "should" then get someone to help you with the task or allow more time. If they are any kind of company though they should be well aware who is doing the work and who isnt.

Its a huge gamble but one he's clearly willing to take. I dont actually think we'll be the worst side or even one of the three. I think CH will maintain the stability that was missing the season we went down (prime reason imo). That said, a few injuries and we're fucked.

You know what will happen, the club will come out and point out that in remaining tough times we have still spent more than some clubs etc etc.

Pure. Fucking. Scum. What. The. Fuck. I cannot get my head around people having this point of view?

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Didn't know anything about it until wor lass said that the DVD of the first book was out and she wanted to see it. She's read three of the books I think. Watched it with her and was pleasantly surprised. Pretty much your basic "who dunnit" but it its a good pace and I never felt bored during it. Its in swedish with English subtitles. You can on the blue ray opt for english dub, but that would have drove me nuts. Odd though I found myself turning the volume up when I couldnt hear it properly even though I was reading subtitles

It was the new (then) Barratt estate. Kinda tucked behind the shops and the great lime road, backed onto the junior school.

My criteria of geordie is from Newcastle upon Tyne or Gateshead. I'll give you Gosforth Park to the North and Wallsend to Wylam. Heworth to Ryton. That's my interpretation. Whitley Bay for eg have a different accent in my view. Listen to how they say Tyneside. Would you class someone a Geordie who was born out of the area (anywhere) but moved into say central Newcastle when they were 1yr old and lived here 20 years? Also, would you class someone as a Geordie who lived in newcastle since birth but moved away after maybe 20 years? For me, I was born in the general and have lived in Benwell, West Denton, Newbiggin Hall, forest Hall, Longbenton & Gateshead for 36 years but now live in Lanchester so as far as I am concerned I'm as much a Geordie as anyone. In my scenario 1 above, Id class them as an adopted Geordie if they appeared as one. Oh, and I quit smoking about 8 years ago and never looked back. Dont have any desire to start again. Do sometimes catch a whiff from somewhere and I still like the smell, apart from off a person when they aint smoking and they dont realise how much they stink

Well, the idea of the thread was just to stick owt up not confined to the NE. If its a themed pic it could just be titled as such so people can see that? Wouldnt want it to be "only" themed shots as that is just as restrictive.

Yeah me too. No point in trying to rush through each week. I'd be happy with either of those (2 or 4 weeks).
-
As for themes, a Flickr group I am in do a similar thing with a weekly or bi-weekly theme. This weeks theme their is simply "Less is More". It's then up to people to interpret that. Not saying we should use that, but just idea of the kind of theme they use.

Yeah I'm up for it. Good to see the interest for it here. I'd also ask that not only images are put up, but what about a brief idea of how the shot was achieved? I say that as someone who is still learning a lot about the subject so would be good to see how people achieve certain images. While a Flickr group would be handy, might not help everyone on this site so maybe just as good to post links to the images in here.

Some amazing shots creeping here now like. Great stuff.

Our lass has read them and thoroughly enjoyed them. We just watched the first film last night as well which was canny.

Got through a few posts and gave up. All to predictable. About them, I couldnt really give a shit. But their bitterness knows no bounds.
