I wouldn't expect Wise and co to be anywhere near, but Ashley is in a bit of catch-22, not appearing won't help his PR image, but appearing could be a lot worse. Not that I'm sympathetic, but it'll be interesting to see what he does. You're right, from a PR point of view, he should be there to take it on the chin and not hide away. However, I dont think he was going to be at this game anyway. Convenient eh. But some of the them should be.

You know what, I've defended Ashley a few times over the last months. LM often makes good points but I though he was wrong about Ashley and that I could see the sense in what he was doing. While I still dont necessarily agree on his views on FS, I dont think I've been this wrong about something in a long while. I feel such a mug.

I remember the atmosphere at the end of the season 06/07. It was awful, and the players still had to walk around the pitch. I want this next games atmosphere to be awful, but not for the players. I dont want the crowd venting their frustration to the players. Id like to think we can get behind them more then ever, but at the same time really make sure the club know where we stand. the press will be there in droves baying for blood and we need to make sure they get the right message.

He's done nowt wrong, but it can't just be me that see's the irony in his name...

If Wise won't put the club first, then he needs to go, too

I'm glad he's came out and said something. Of course, he's perfectly right in each point. -

This is whats got me. The facy they havent even been arsed to come out and address the fans, not on the website, not via the media. Nothing. Wouldnt you think if they gave an arse about the clubs fans they would have done so? what do we get? Silence. Silence that speaks volumes to me like.

I agree. Before the game, HT, FT sing what you like to who you like. For example : "Your not fit to wear the shirt" (to Ashley, though dont think he's at the Hull game) "Fuck off, we support the toon" (pointing to the directors box) Any KK song you like But, throughout the game, we need to get behind the players more than ever. They need a lift as much as we do. Apart from that, I think not spending owt in the ground is a good start.

Him and all the new players. In fact, all the players. We do need to stick behind them, which I why I disagree about not going to the Hull game.

Just been watching NE Tonight. Well spoken the lad who was talking to the interviewer (not sure who he is, from a fanzine perhaps?), however, what a bunch of twats he had behind him. where do they find these neanderthals?

You formatted so I'll grace you with a reply. 1. Bollocks. That jumping on the band wagon without your own opinion. I agree, he maybe was likely to walk in the end, but have you looked at the reason in each case? Why is it him walking but Curbs standing up for his beliefs and integrity when both the same reason? Its easy to say dont play certain players, but have you spent a second to think who would take their place? 2. I hope I fumble half as well as him then. Funny how lucky people make a lot of money eh. As for downing pints, bloody hell, happens up and down the country every day man, get a grip. I agree carling is pissy though. 3. I agree. No really! 4. Thats been said for years. Apart from the Dennis wise bit, and he's a twat.

That's no reason to get a pint, pie, program, Geordie Jackpot, third strip etc. Bare minimum as far as I'm concerned. Ticket and nowt else. Yep, maybe leaflets should be given out to people on their way to SJP to get the full message around Well, I reckon Im going down this route. I will go to the Hull game and support the team I will not spend a single penny while Im in there. I'll arrive at kick-off from the pub and leave right away while sitting in my seat at HT.
-
Lets see. I paid for my three years in full. So Im fucked. However, if you pay by DD, I would think could cancel from next year. You have taken this years ticket, so you cant cancel. But, you dont have next years ticket, so I imagine you could. All you would need do it write to them explaining a change of financial circumstance. I dont think applying for next seasons ticket is an actual contract. Where it might get tricky, is if you pay the DD company and they have already paid the club. You would really need to speak to the DD company about that. this is just my opinion mind.

Is no-one else considering Keegan might be to blame?
JawD replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think you are right Alex. My view now is that KK was brought in purely to get the fans on board. As I understand it, KK was brought it but he wasnt made aware of the structure until afterwards. All the time KK coming on TV saying he knew Wise was coming, he knew what his role would be, he knew Milner had to go for such a good offer etc. All bollocks. That was KK saying the party line and saving face. Is KK to blame? Not in my eyes. If Ashley knew what the deal would be when KK joined, why didnt they tell him? Not only that, why did MA come out and public say all signings were down to KK. I'd rather have KK being honesty and leaving for his own integrity and beliefs than the pure lies that are now apparent from MA. Why did MA feel the need to lie in public about his role? Why? because he knew it wouldnt sit well and he would be criticised. All this bollocks about brining in KK, sitting with the fans, probably even being seen necking a pint, I reckon is no more than a ploy to get him his one of the lads images who we all like. Well you know what? Fuck that. Ive fell for it once and paid out my three years. Like the boy who cried wolf I dont see how I can trust MA again. Its with MA the blame lies for this mess. Whether badly advised or badly judged, its with him the buck stops. Like many, in a way Im glad KK had the balls to once again stand up and say "this is wrong". -
Isnt he going on holiday so will miss the Hull game?

2/10 Go do some research then come back and try again.

The only way forward that I see is for a foreign coach to come in. Bringing in Poyet etc is as bad as FS bringing in Souness. No other british manager would want the job (rightly so). I cant see any other solution.

Well put mate, you beat me to it, that's my feelings too, although we all feel numb, and we all hurt, ultimately we support Newcastle United, not the owner, but the club and the XI men that pull on the same shirt as we do, I'm not saying we should forget, and I'm certainly not saying we should forgive, but what we need to do is support our team. Howay the lads ! I can't agree 100%, yes, we're all Toon fans but going to matches and buying shirts will continue to line Fat Cunts pockets and brush this whole matter under the carpet. It's not just Keegan that's been made to look like a mug, the fans have too, while this is seen to be allowed to happen we'll always be a laughing stock because give us a day and we'll roll over and take anything. Supporting the team can still be done without funds being given to Fat Cunt, if he intended to see a return on his investment he needs the fans and although I thought he'd lost them it looks like apathy towards him is already creeping in - accept him, accept this shit you get. Thing is, you dont go to the club to cheer the owner, you go to get behind the team. If need be sing "Fuck you, we support the toon". I understand your point, but Im really torn on this one as I also see staying away from the team as stabbing myself in the back. I'd get more satisfaction from seeing Ashley and breaking his fucking nose. Sadly, that wont happen as a) Id get done and his big fucking brickhouse of a mate will give me a hiding

Irrespective of whether Shearer could do the job, I think he is a strong character and wont want someone like Dennis Wise casting a shadow over him (does wise even cast a shadow?). I just dont see Shearer talking to the club in its current structure.
