  1. I'm not saying Roeder was a good manager, just better than Allardyce. Which, on present form, is not hard to do. I also remember a lot of the players coming out and saying how they were impressed with Roeder's man management skills when he first took over. Compare that to this season where Allardyce has stated he doesn't trust our current crop of players to save his job. If I was asked to pick watching Allardyce's NUFC or Roeder's NUFC, I'd pick Roeder's every day of the week. I think you're seeing Roeder through rose-tinted glasses there mate. I can see where you're coming from. Roeder has a pretty poor career overall too though, although he always seems to start well, for some reason. http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=159052 Last paragraph, I'll try dig up some more comments about players saying they enjoy working for Roeder, I know there's one or two more. Joe Cole for definite and Carrick I think said they rated Roeder as a coach. That's not what I meant though by the rose-tinted comment. We were dreadful under Roeder last season imo. Just as bad as this. We were dreadful yes, but not as bad as the shit Allardyce is serving up.

  3. Debetable, it's no secret we were in massive debt last summer under Shepherd, so getting Shearer's wage bill off the books would have been a big welcome, plus selling Boumsong for £3.3m, Chopra for £500k, Faye for £2m and Viana for £1.7m.

  5. What is your opinion based on? Never having been sacked from a Premiership job. Roeder has been hired to save a D1 team, BSA has a history of promoting D1 teams. So? You want me to draw you a picture? Roeder got us into Europe without having the ability to spend money with us. I'd be surprised if Allardyce gets us into Europe this season. This time last season we had 26 points, the same as we have now. Lets not forget Roeder didn't have the luxury of having the money Allardyce did to spend this summer, or these clueless fuckwits that sit about on ProZone. As for Allardyce being better than Souness? Take a look at the trophies he has won as manager, then compare it to Allardyce's.

  7. N'Zogbia vs. Bolton Owen vs. Everton Cacapa vs. Spurs Duberry OG vs. Reading Martins vs. Blackburn Beye vs. Birmingham Not bad.
  8. Aye, was ineffective last season in a team that played with wingers.
  9. Yeah, we play defensive minded tactics, punt 50 yard balls up to Martins and have two defensive midfielders sitting doing nothing. That is not the reason why we don't create chances though, it's because of James Milner.
  10. His performance last night was his worst this season. He's good enough alright.
  11. I take great comfort in the fact he is shitting bricks at the thought of getting seven shades of shit kicked out of him.
  12. Fuck off man. Really crimson? I never picked you as a Martins fan. Hopefully the African cup of nations will do him some good, get him away from the clueless manager, get his confidence back up and help him find his goal scoring touch again. Can't see it though, unfortunately he's more likely to go awol. He's hot and cold, but no way a disgrace to the shirt.
  13. I'd agree but both goals were down to basic football moves - something we are incapable of doing. The Duff decision didn't help but it shouldn't be seen as an excuse either. Not match fit yet? Thought he was cracking in the first half.
  14. Easily the better side up and till their second goal. Missed opportunities cost us, and probably cost Sam his job.

  16. Petrov to hump us for an hour and half down the left hand side.
