  1. There's such a fine line between success and failure in a game like this. Incredibly harsh for Howe and all the players (with the exception of Gordon). If this is serious for Tonali now I'm starting to question whether we can have nice things.
  2. If the ball was there to be played and he got close then you might have a case, but he was behind Virg and never going for the ball. I will say that it was never going to cause an injury because he did pull out, so it could have been a lot worse, but unfortunately it is still a red. Bloody hell this hurts now to be honest, a lucky ball dropping perfectly to them here as well. We were so superior up until their goal from nothing and it has come crashing and burning down. Don't know how Konate doesn't get a second yellow there. Insane that he doesn't get at least a foul either.
  3. The speed is also from Gordon, so it just makes it worse. It's hard to see a way in which this wasn't a misguided attempt at retribution for being shouldered in the face. The ball was never in a position to be played at. Each time he does something like this I hope it will be the last and that he'll mature but maybe I'm kidding myself.
  4. I agree that he did but he still caught him with his studs and was totally behind him, so as much as it sucks it's a red and it's fucking stupid of Gordon. Close in at pace sure, but only make a challenge if the ball is in a position to play at, which it never was for him here.
  5. He certainly has a track record for it. It's a fine line when you operate at such a high speed. For me it's the fact he was totally behind him that makes it an easy call for the referee. Ahh well at last now I'll be able to see and hear Michael Owen's take on it all.
  6. I don't think it warrants a red, but it was fucking stupid. Liverpool have pulled off a strategic masterclass here, unsettled our goal scoring striker, fluked a deflection goal and then this.
