Brief stints at clubs you forgot about
angrysteve replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
around the time they signed Gadaffi's son iirc, think they also tried to sign Birgitte Prinz (sp) who is a lass! Crazy times. -
on a side note I just heard on the guardian footy podcast today that Ibrahimovic has won 8 league titles in the last 8 seasons with 3 different clubs. Thought that was pretty impressive myself... You heard wrong. Ibrahimovic has won eight titles in eight years, for five different teams in three different countries… 2003-2004: Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands) 2004-2005: Juventus (Italy) 2005-2006: Juventus (Italy) 2006-2007: Inter Milan (Italy) 2007-2008: Inter Milan (Italy) 2008-2009: Inter Milan (Italy) 2009-2010: Barcelona (Spain) 2010-2011: AC Milan (Italy) -------------------------------------- 2003-2011: 8 titles in a row I was on the way to work and half asleep, sorry.

I put in Chamakh because a lot of Arsenals hopes rested on him this season. He was decent for the first half and utter shit since then. 19 league games(completing 90minutes in only ten of those) and the poor (27year old)lad was complaining of fatigue. Him and Vp are too skinny for PL frontmen. He's been fantastic for them again this season imho, now if only he fancied coming up here for peanuts...
-
Was just thinking last night that he would be a decent shout for us.

Brian Pinas, never played a game for us but managed to get a half page article about his unfortunate name in The Sun at the time. -

Burridge had a second spell with us IIRC. Wasn't he on the bench for the 4-2 game against Sheff Wed? (The Alex Mathie game?). Also remember him going on emergency loan to Man City and actually playing against us while he was our goalkeeper coach. Very bizarre!! Jari Litmanen at Fulham in 2008 - never kicked a ball competitively for them. Sol Campbell at Notts County & us! -
I've seen a few people wearing them and they look ok but because we were with Umbro back then they don't have the Umbro badge due to our being with adidas when the club shop starting selling them and now being with Puma. Not sure about the club shop ones but the TOFFS one are decent, I've got the 1920's, 1950's and 1960's ones, decent quality material, fully embroidered crests didn't shrink in the wash and look nice on.
-
Olsson is kinda their equivalent of Gareth Bale (but not as good obviously), can play left back or wing, decent pace/touch and at 21 or 22 looks a decent prospect. Yeah Dann is one of the centre backs, my Brum supporting friend raves about him.
-
Wouldn't disagree with any of the above, would also add Scott Dann from Brum and Martin Olsson from Blackburn

bit like this seasons spurs home kit. hmmm, not convinced yet, but as with the custard cream top it will probably be a 'grower'.
-
Was thinking that myself yesterday after seeing his heroics at Upton Park. Steven Fletcher doesn't sound like much of a signing but the boy does know where the net is. I reckon a loan for Sturridge could be on the cards (as i'd imagine they would be reluctant to sell) should Chelsea bring in another striker and keep Drogba. I agree with Kranjcar, and he is blatantly pissed he aint getting a look in at spurs - though I think he'll be off to Italy. But if they are all interested, you would get them all relatively cheap i'd imagine. Would love Samba, sadly I reckon so will a lot of other teams (Arsenal I hear) so looks unlikely but we can hope.
-
Anyone who see's that and doesn't reckon red numbers look the dog's bollocks need their fucking eyes testing tbh
-
It's a monochrome Arsenal kit with a couple of white lines painted down the middle. All that's missing is a few cat's eyes on the centre black stripe and it's a fucking road. The Huddersfield kit done in black and white would be class. I think it looks cheap. Guarenteed that if we got that in black and white people would be moaning as well. maybe taste in kits is an age thing? I love the retro looking kits and agree with previous posts that the Huddersfield top is nice and that our asics top was a great shirt - barring the clicky material. I do however think our last decent home shirt was the one with Northern Rock in blue on the front (2004-2006?) but our last really great shirt was the adidas grandad collar 1995-1997.

Is it bad that I haven't got a clue who any of them are? I was gonna write something similar then I realised they are nowhere near being a prem league team again so it stands to reason.

You should have known that just by reading the name above the title! indeed she is terrible but I know someone who is friends with the director and they swayed me to watch it unfortunately... Followed it up with this which was better but by no means great: -
nice bit of competition with Tiote for most yellow cards as well!
-
I'm hoping Sunderland are more desperate than us for a striker and take a punt on the useless gimp. I can see it now, us and Sunderland having a bidding war for the fecker, and Pardew swaying Cole's mind with the chance to hold the number 9 shirt.... I think they are, and I think they'll sign Michael Owen!
-
He's been getting right on my tits lately. I think he goes hiding personally-he was much improved under Hughton, been shite lately. Chronicle saying Sol is being released this summer, one of the biggest earners at the club. Also mooted to be on the way out : Smith, Guthrie, Enrique and Jonas. Hope the possibility of Jonas following Enrique out of the door doesn't unsettle Coloccini, he's been massive for us these past 2 seasons.

About that page... Just realised my name is at the bottom as a source along with yours I see I just passingly mentioned he had the wrong Brown Ale logo on some of our home kits. Never seen me being referenced on there before.. Think I told him about the gold McEwans Lager sponsorship we had in the first couple of months after promotion before they decided it was unreadable and switched to white on black. I remember seeing a picture from shortly after the change (possibly of Barry Venison? and even more likely in Match or Shoot magazine) where the white on black McEwans had been slightly ripped at the top and you could still see the gold underneath the patch. Guessing back then there was none of that 3 shirts for each game carry on?

...or will he give it to Best/Shola? If so, Jesus will be weeping along, with many other Toon fans too right mate!
