Brian Pinas - should make every list for novelty-name value alone.

Did a double bill of early 80's slasher films last night, My BLoody Valentine, cheesetastic but enjoyable & The Prowler which had some great 80's Tom Savini gore effects! -

Jesus wept, whats the betting it would star Seth Rogan and/or Steve Carrell
-
Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach Yes I'm taking the piss but as a kid I did like the bit where the fat gadgy dropped through the roof of the boat!
-
was it not 'Lock Up'?
-
One film I've always steered well clear of. Edit: although I watched the Leslie Nielsen spoof It's an excellent film in my opinion, not too scary but it's atmospheric and very well crafted.
-
Likewise, however I still enjoy a good film t-shirt and I am actually wearing a Robocop shirt as I type this!
-
I remember it well, it actually scared me and I remember thinking at the time, wtf??!! But was it really 1990?? Surely not as I watched it with my son and he would have been to young then for me to let him watch it! If so, then I'm a bad bad mother Just checked, it was 1992 so I wasn't that far off! Someone call social services!
-
only things that ever scared me were Alien when I was 9 and that Ghostwatch program that was on at Halloween circa 1990. Alien is now one of my fav films but it no longer scares me and I've never seen Ghostwatch since but I reckon it will have lost it's edge by todays standards.

not a single contentious mention so far in this thread! You all have impeccable taste.

agreed, they were crap, as was the rest of the film, especially later on when the makers tried to give one or two of them personalities, laughably cack. -

Tyrannosaur - Brilliant. Not an easy watch in parts but it should rightfully win awards for the performances if not more. 9/10 -

I agree, I was pissing myself, the overly dramatic music and the constant quick tracking in to the bad guys face as he was following them on the train was like I was watching a clever spoof as opposed to the inept thriller which it actually was! That lad from Twilight is utter gash anarl. If they had thrown in some more intentional jokes they could have passed it off as a comedy. -

Really? I honestly thought there was nothing to redeem the film. Obviously we don't have to agree but I'm curious to know what you liked about it? I said it was aimed at 15 year old girls and not as horrendous as people are making out. Thats hardly a glowing endorsement is it Even the teenage girls in the screening I was in were slating it on the way out. Your statement is the most positive thing I've read/heard about it! -

That's next on my list, saw Warrior last night - contrived, cheesy and predictable yet I enjoyed it very much! -

Is Krul one of the best keepers in the league?
angrysteve replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
I agree. But whereas Given is a fantastic shot-stopper, he's never been dominating his penalty area, he prefers to stay on the line. Krul is showing signs of developing into that keeper who really dominates the penalty area as well as being a great shot-stopper. I agree to an extent but I'm still to be totally convinced with regards to him dealing with crosses. Been years since we've had a keeper who is totally commanding in the air. Tim had a bloody good game on Saturday. Adrian Durham has been saying Sczezny is the best but he is a cock like. Am I the only person who thinks Scezezezezezny is cack? Haven't seen him do anything to warrant the amount of wanking the pundits do over him other than that penalty save the other week. Apart from that he picked more out of the back of the net than the average trawlerman. -
One of many reasons to get the fuck out. I am so much happier since I left London. Cuntsville, it really is. this 200%. If I could get a decent job elsewhere I'd be away tomorrow.

haven't seen it personally but apparently 'A Serbian Film' is truly horrific.
