  1. When the fuck is Barton returning?
  2. Yup. And don't forget Howard Webb disallowing Viduka's header in the previous game against Fulham. Just one point would have kept us up. see the list of draws we had that season. and the number of pens we gave away. Plus the number of games Butt played in. Can't argue with that ... but that disalowed goal still stings.

  4. What's happened to Colo? (How is he injured?)
  5. For the Aussies: Live on Fox Sports 2 – 01:55 (AEDT), 01:10 (SA), 00:55 (QLD), 22:55 (WA)
  6. Just been looking at the CCC fixtures for the following week. I doubt that we'll get all six points from Sat's and Wed's games, and I doubt WBA and Forest will too. That leaves Swansea with two very winnable home games in a row (Shef. Wed. and WBA). This could leave the Swans as a fourth team we'll have to contend with in the traffic jam at the top of the ladder.
  7. And Cardiff are down another.
  8. Cardiff down a goal! The more we can move away from those from 3 through to 6, the better!
  9. It's this complexity that's making it likely that the PL will give them their parachute early. They're going to the 19 other clubs to get their approval about the 11 mil. If they do dissolve, all points will be redistributed as if the Pompey games were never played. The changes are reasonably subtantial; for example, Manure would now be 6 points behind Chelsea. Other 'big' clubs would be affected in similar ways. Because of these points changes, I can see the other clubs agreeing to give the parachute payment, for fear of what otherwise would occur. What the hell Pompey then do after using all the parachute payment to pay debts, who knows?? Die in the CCC, turn into the 'new Leeds' ... or wait for a knight in shining armour.
  10. The latest talk is that Pompey will be given their 11 million parachute plan early from the PL ... but won't that just leave them fucked for when they're in the CCC? Just prolonging the inevitable, I think. While I've nothing against Pompey, I kind of wish they would sink. I think it would bring about a big change in the spending culture of the EPL. I think that teams would be forced to only spend a certain fraction of their income on players. Also, salary caps may finally be introduced. It would certainly be a wake-up call!
  11. Between now and next Friday, someone new will have bought the club (the fifth this season??) If not, the rich bloke (Balram Chainrai) that's loaning them money (and is owed a great deal from them) will inject just enough to keep them afloat. Don't think administration will happen as Chainrai would not want to not receive all the money he's owed. (The double negative is intentional.) While I've nothing against Pompey, I kind of wish they would sink. I think it would bring about a big change in the spending culture of the EPL. I think that teams would be forced to only spend a certain fraction of their income on players. Also, salary caps may finally be introduced. It would certainly be a wake-up call! Would they want to set that sort of precedent though? Very good point!
  12. Having a squizz at the BBC site. Efffing hell, not another one. Do we have to credit Ashley for taking us out of the same fate?
  13. Forest are down a goal!!!! We really need the three points here—some space between us and third.
  14. I expect WBA to win theirs comfortably, but Forest might have a bit of a struggle with theirs.
  15. Already Pompey are a goal down to Mackems. Penalty and Pompey now down to 10 men. Portsmouth are the definition of 'fucked'.
  16. I know it's early, but the BBC feed is showing 71% possession Derby. Great start for the Toon.
  17. Too right, OzToon. I don't think the Baggies will be too badly affected. (Haven't they just signed an extra striker on loan for a month?) But I think (hope) this may be the month where the lack of depth in Forest's squad begins to play havoc. Also, if we do have any major injuries occur over the next week or two, is there still time to take on some loans? Mind you, we do seem to be running out of defenders again. (Just what is the story with Colo?)
  18. Not to get all Accadacca on you all, but I do think that this display has relieved a lot of pressure for Hughton, the team and the supporters of Newcastle United. Something to say 'onwards and upwards' about.
  19. SSN Update from when 4-0 up. Crappy image of Peter's first. You Tube Newcastle v. Cardiff 4-0
  20. Having a good look at the table: Wow, are Boro really only on 37 points?
  21. We're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league! WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!!!!!!
  22. Just noticed the line-up ... why no Colo? Just to give him a rest?
