Any of the doubters starting to believe yet then ???
dbsweeney replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
We have to make sure we keep apace with WBA and Boro. And when they stuff up and get a draw rather than a win, we must win. And when they lose ... well, it goes without saying ... -
How do you find this crazy shit?

Any of the doubters starting to believe yet then ???

OK, here are the squads for the teams that I see that we'll be fighting it out with. I don't know enough of these players to know if they're experienced/decent or not. Boro: 26 in squad WBA: 29 in squad Blades: 24 in squad Cardiff: 26 in squad Preston 24 in squad Leicester 31 in squad Bristol: 27 in squad AND THE MIGHTY TOON: 30 in squad ---------------- OK then. What does this all mean? Maybe my fears about depth are mislaid a little. We have 30 while the average for the others listed is 26.7. So, really, we're all in the same boat together. We also have (arguably) a better standard of player against most of these sides. Really, the main problem will be WBA and Boro. Getting away with a draw away to West Brom was a great result--but we MUST win at home. But our games against Boro are the most important. Both come a long way into the season (at home in December, away to them in March), when the depth of the squad may be sorely tested. -

That's the thing for me, were more scared of imploding than anything this division has to offer. I agree. When was the last time that anything to do with our club could be described as stable. I'm not having a go at Acca, and I admire his optimism, but I really do fear that we don't have the depth to cope with this league 3 or 4 months from now. I'd LOVE to be proved wrong. -
I'm not gonna counter anyone's claim that they don't like 'em. However, I absolutely adore them and have fallen for the re-releases hook, line and sinker. I own the original CDs and have tracked down the dusty original LPs of my parents. The original CDs sounded thin and trebbly compared to the LPs and the new remasters sound fab, too.

Haway then, who thinks we'll lose on Sunday at the

I'd be mighty happy with a draw. Surely this is one of the hardest away fixtures in the league. -
Christ Veron, I thought he was dead (or retired). Nontheless, people are over reacting to Argentinas poor form, they're still in an automatic spot for qualification never mind the playoff spot which will be against the mighty New Zealand so they will qualify, no doubt about that if you ask me. All of that is incorrect. New Zealand play their play off with the 5th placed Asian team. You're right! As an Aussie, the play-off for Oceania was against a CONMEBOL team (usually the reason why we never made it the World Cup). Then it all changed when we became past of the Asian confederation. Then it changed again when it was decided that Oceania would play off against the 5th-running Asian team.

How many points required to win the league and ...

It's true though. If we don't win, all the doomsayers will come out. Mind you, I don't think we will at Cardiff. Indeed, I'll be very happy with a draw. -
These two sentences stand out for what they are, utter bullshit. And two, Keegan was the one undermined by Ashley and his bunch of cronies. Don't ever be mistaken, there was only one person, well actually no there are thousands of us, who were sold a lie. I think you misread what he meant (though I could be wrong ) You're right, KK was undermined by Ashley (who, yes, is a cunt), but a feasable reason he was undermined was because Ashley felt KK had too much influence with the supporters and was willing to speak his mind--which undermined Ashley.

Giving Dukes a go or not all depends on the quality of getting the ball fowards to him; i.e. making sure Jonas is fit and can pass acurately. Yes, I think it would be a great idea to give him a go. Apparently he's searching for a pay-as-you-play deal!

I need sleep as I woke up at 2.30 am to watch the game. I'm not gonna let Ashley steal my sleep. Good night from Australia!

I'd probably rather have a younger unknown than a creaky ex-premiership player.

Nothing is going to fucking happen!
-
Hmmm ... I don't believe it--but I'll only feel relaxed once that window slams shut.

that Ashley really started fucking us over. Milner had been sold to Villa, and Keegan had been promised 'a big signing'. At the end of the day, fuck all had happened. Kevin left shortly afterwards ...

I've only just arrived at work and haven't had a chance to read the thread, so I'm sure that everyone's already pointed out that we actually played like a team, we're gonna be stuffed at Cardiff if we don't bring anyone in and ... =

Somewhere around 106. You need to get at least 95 to be in for auto-promotion.

And I quote Bart Simpson: And it's funny because it's true.

Toon bid hopefuls backed by New York firm
dbsweeney replied to Geordiejihad's topic in Newcastle Forum
Worst case senario (before Monday) is: Ashley stays JFK is brought in Nolan, Enrique, Taylor are sold No-one bought Shola and Jonas are injured. I can see at least 4/5 of those happening. I at least want Ashley to say say WHY he's doing some of these things! -
Just out of interest, does any of this ever happen with Toon fans? (Even to a smaller extent?) What about with Mackems? I ask becuase every group of fans has some bad eggs.
-
You can be certain there isn't, but if there was, I'm sure it would be known as 'The Ashley Clause'.

+1 My thoughts exactly. I don't buy into the Ashley/Moat cahoots thing. I'm paranoid ... but not that paranoid. © Parky I don't get it ... sorry.
