  1. Not sure if anyone this is relevant to will read this, but the Perth group of Aussiemags are meeting at the Lucky Shag for the game. I guess be there at 7.45 for pregame hijinks with an 8 pm kickoff.
  2. So much bad luck so thoroughly deserved.
  3. Who's the upcoming Merseyside derby a home game for?
  4. Some decent play by Walcott earlier, too
  5. Good goal, though the walking life preserver still looks unhappy.
  6. Fucking hell, he should have done better there.
  7. While a draw would be good for our hopes to get CL, I'd love to see the Gunners thoroughly rip these fucks apart. I can't stand the fucks that are LFC.
  8. That fucker dived, the cunt. Save was thoroughly deserved.

  10. Cheers everyone, I think I'll go with 'fizzy pop'. It's for 12-year-old kids.
  11. This is going to seem an odd question, but I'm a book editor adapting a book for an Irish audience. In Australia, we'd call Coke, lemonade, lemon soda etc. (carbonated sweet fizzy drink) as 'soft drink' or 'cool drink'. In the USA I think they'd call it 'soda' or 'soda pop'. What do you guys in the UK (in particular Ireland) call the stuff? Cheers!

  13. Zoggy left for Wigan because of Kinnear. Kinnear was chosen by Ashley and Llambias. Would you say that the choice of Kinnear showed ambition? JK was chosen because the job at SJP seemed caustic at the time and no-one else was willing to do it (or the club wasn't willing to pay those who were willing—speculation on my part). Added to the fact that MA and DL knew absolutely nothing about running a football club and so knew no better than to choose someone who'd been out of the game for many years.
  14. Sorry, I live in Australia ... otherwise would have been happy to do it.
  15. Thank god Spurs are still in this comp. They're the only team I trust will be able to trounce Litterpoo and the scum.
  16. Having a quick squiz at this weekend's FA Cup games, at first glance I thought it would be great for CH's Birmingham to do over Chelsea. Then I realised that if Chelsea drop out, there's no real competition to beat Liverpool. Go Chelsea!
  17. I'd say cut/lock this thread totally. All it seems to do is cause bad blood.
  18. Bust up in the tunnel, apparently. Evra confronted Suarez about handshake.
  19. You're fucking kidding me! What utter, utter scum.

  21. Our defense will need to be on the top of their game to try and limit the space available to the likes of Bale. If they continually get behind our defense can only hope that Colo and Williamson will pick up their runners and that Krul will be at his usual high standard. They will allow us some opportunites to attack as their defense isn't particularly good, Parker flying around in the midfield as cover has helped that but I suspect Ledley King won't play given he features against Liverpool. Dawson is an ordinary defender who should be crapping himself at the prospect of either Demba. They deserve to be odds on favourites but that's no reason to write off our chances. Indeed, let's avoid the high line like we did against West Brom.
  22. Watched a bunch of blu-rays on the weekend (only had it for a week). Chungking Express Seen it countless times. Such a fun film, full of energy. Had a shit week at work, but this made me forget it all. One of my favourite films. 9/10 Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence First time seeing it, and it has a few qualities. Looks great and has a nice, slightly surreal feel. Also, the first film I've seen deal with the theme of POW camps and homosexuality. (Not a major theme, but it's there and it lent the film an interesting slant.) Nevertheless, as it continued I lost more and more interest in it. As such, 4 or 5/10. Deliverence I hadn't watched this since I was 16 or 18 or so. I remembered a few scenes (those that everyone does), but not much else. I great nightmare of a film that is so very well directed. An amazing study of masculinity, nature, environment, poverty, the affects of modern living etc. all packed into what is also just a damned great action/horror/men-against-nature/boys-own-adventure film. 7.5 or 8/10.
  23. I though Gabs was gonna do something special there, for a second.
