What a weird season ... Excepting the fact that Man U will win again, everything else is decidedly not going to expectations. I fully expect there being at least 6 teams fighting it out for relegation come last day, and entire bottom eight all being within a hair's breadth away from the drop. Ramos does utter shite with Spurs ... only to shortly after take over Real Madrid. Chelsea drop their supposedly no-name manager (who took them only one trip over away from winning the Big Cup), to take on a World Cup winning coach ... only for Chelski to have their worst season by far under the Roman regime. We don't win a single game against the Mackems. We sign up Ameobi to continue his contract.

Do you think JFK (if he's not dead ) will partner Viduka up with Smith or Shitola (if Oba's not fit yet)?
-
TBF, a draw might be the best we can expect out of that. We will leak goals, esp. with our shit marking with set pieces against the likes of Cahill. Once again, attack will be the best defence. Get Oba running around with Spidey and pass into the box for Viduka.

Unfortunately, Spiderman has to sit this game out--five yellow cards rule. Otherwise, good idea.

Ok, I used that BBC predictor thingy and I came up with this as the end of the season table. A few things first: We do much better than I thought we would (I tried to be quite harsh about how we go, but obviously we do reasonably well. Not a lot of wins (maybe 2) but there are quite a few draws. Maybe I was overly harsh on WBA. Maybe too lenient on the Arse. On the last day of the season: We play Villa (and lose); while Blackburn Vs. WBA; West Ham vs. Middlesborough; Wigan vs. Pompy. I didn't realise just how down to the wire it may be come the last day. Those three games I listed may be vital to what happens and none of them are obvious wins/losses for either team. Anyway, laugh if you will 1. Man United 2. Liverpool 3. Chelsea 4. Arsenal 5. Aston Villa 6. Everton 7. Bolton 8. West Ham 9. Man City 10. Wigan pts. 47 11. Fullham pts. 47 12. Spurs pts. 41 13. Toon pts. 40 14. Sunderland pts. 39 15. Stoke pts. 39 16. Hull pts. 38 17. Blackburn pts. 36 18. Middlesbrough pts. 31 19. Portsmouth pts. 30 20. WBA pts. 28

Right ... being positive: The last day of the season will be a lot more exciting than it was last season (mid-tabler against Toffees, which we lost anyway).
-
Aye, there's the rub.
-
Unless big money comes in, I can see these two staying until the end of season. And I, too, would like Geremi to stay (I think he will).
-
Maybe everyone knows something that I don't know, but where the fuck do Spurs get all of their money from?

Newcastle tell Man City to swap Johnson + cash for Given

The end is nigh. -
Agree, that's is worst of the news. As for Viduka, surely this is the end of his run ... Which saddens me more as an Australian than it does as a Toon supporter.
-
We live in hope. However, I'd prefer: Liverpool Manchester United in deep financial shit. Downfall of club blamed on Tom Hicks Sir Alex Ferguson.
-
Not much else I can add, except to say the above three quotes are entirely right.
-
... I though we were 12th. Si, yes we are ...
-
What are we now? 14th? Both West Ham and Man City have leapfrogged us. Goal difference is -2 ... not so bad. Even with a loss to Liverpool, we won't be in the zone come the end of the weekend. Who will play for us come Sunday? Two questions: How fit is Oba? Did Dukes leave injured or just too run-out?
-
The win to West Ham doesn't help our cause ... at least Mackems v. Rovers and the Spurs game ended as draws! I still think it'll be Baggies, Stoke and West Ham that'll go down. However, we (or Blackburn) could be taking the Hammers' spot if we ain't careful.
-
Duff ... was that our last chance??
-
I wasn't looking at the right time ... is Viduka actually injured or just subed? Our wafer-thin team is beginning to show cracks the size of a plummer's arse when he fixes the sink.
-
Very true. A time to show a bit of spirit from the lads. I think Stoke are gonna go down. Slowly, they are find their way to the bottom end of the table.
-
One of the major reasons Fulham escaped from relegation last season, and can work his heart out on the pitch when he wants to. Capello thought him good enough for the England squad a few games ago. Yep, I'd definitely go for him!
-
Hear, hear! Either way, it's a shitter to hear that Martins may not be available. If we lose MO too, we'd really be fucked.
-
While he's not 'the greatest football manager known to humankind ', surely you jest? The arrival of yet another would drive the players to distraction and, as Ketsbaia noted, he deserves a clap for giving us the best defence we have had a many a year (goal difference -2 as compared to the, what, -12 of this time last year).

The Official Portsmouth Vs Newcastle United Thread
dbsweeney replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Well, the partnership of Owen/Martins/Viduka worked well late last season under KK ... so the fact that Owens/Martins works isn't that much of a surprise. I think Jimbo is correct, it's helped enormously be the runs of Zoggy and Spiderman up and down the flanks. We also need to push forward with the midfield. While we have improved defensively by leaps and bounds (including with the midfield), the commentators were right last night (remember, I live in Australia) that too often we weren't willing to press forward with the midfield, and relying always on the counter. Mind you, having said that, we did win 3-0 away!!!!!
