Even hip-hop has been house-ified recently.

I was at that one. Luton Hoo? Back in the day before mobile phones, you all just lost eachother, went off on your own weekends and sooner or later caught up again. It's probably better now tbf. Aye. I saw Zoe Ball on the way in before she was ushered away from the proles queue to the VIP entrance. I remember feeling absolutely fine in the car on the way and listening to tunes as the traffic jam to get in was massive. It was only when I tried to leave me seat that it went pear shaped. It was fucking freezing outside through the night as well (think it was in May). Quality event though. Basically everybody was on - American House DJs like Roger Sanchez, Sasha, all the UK Techno people that mattered, the Detroit Techno lot, all the drum and bass heavyweights, etc. Someone had an epileptic fit dancing next to me in a jungle tent about 5 am. I stopped them smacking their head into a tent post. I was leaning over them, still dancing, sort of trying to help and this old skool girl comes over to me and goes 'just fahkin leave him, he'll be right'. So I fucked off and skinned up, St John's FTW. Leaning over him shouting 'what ye on, where ye from?'

Terrible behaviour All time favourite mix-tape was the Sasha Universe from 92. Did you know that tapes are back in? Not old rave mixes obviously but loads of indie labels are releasing stuff on tape nowadays. Anyway, M17, Bomb The Bass, Degrees of Motion. Sound on this is shit but i have it on vinyl, the bass is mint. On the b-side to Winter in July

It is odd though, even some of the dated sounds still work in a retro way. Was listening to Acid Thunder by Fast Eddie the other day and although the production has that dated sound, i reckon it still sounds fresh if you know what i mean. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I'll tell you what I was listening to not long ago that took me back (from an old compilation) 2√231 - Anticapella. I'm basically a sucker for anything with that sort of piano riff on it though. Aye, nothing better than losing it to Italo House with massive piano break downs. I used to have a great list of a load of lost classics, off Gok Wan obviously. Two off the top of the head Clubland -Lovestrain, Secchi - I say Yeah. There's a few mixes of both of them but classic Italian piano house.

Raving anecdote no.13467 Rozalla played at Durham Uni student Union in 1992/3. Me and a lad called Dunny from South Shields DJ'ed for her and at the last minute, she asked me to announce her on stage and big her up etc so i got on the mic and got the crowd going. Think i may have been on pills. True story.

That list to from the sublime to the ridiculous. 4 Hero were canny but their best track was the Minnie Ripperton cover Les Fleur, released much later. I absolutely love this track (not very ravey) And a list with Phuture on that doesnt include Rise From Your Grave is a shame. Think i posted this in the music thread a month or so back (very ravey)
  9. Aye. I thought wedding crashers was a reference to laddish pursuits until i read this thread.

  11. Fuck's sake Parky stay frosty man... Just tell me I've got 3 min... Big fat senstive soul signs up on here, starts loads of threads so get's the expected banter. Berb (I think, I apologise if not) jokingly calls him a cunt. Big fat sensitive man cries and starts this leaving thread. Detective Stevie does a superb bit of digging and finds out this bloke is the wrongun he initially predicted. Turns out the big fat sensitive man is actually a horrible twat who has no qualms racially abusing people (including our own players), slagging off women, sliming up to woman young enough to be his daughter etc etc.. He has cried off here now but is still being a bellend elsewhere. That's as much as I have seen The only bit of the thread you missed was the 5 or 6 pages of ASM and Leazes going at it, Gemmill steaming in, loads of argie-bargie and everyone calling everyone a cunt. Then someone posted a picture of Paul Wyn and it all chilled out into people laughing at the fat lad.
  12. On telly as I was leaving the house. What u want? Your arsy cause you realised your last link was just some buffoon... It was a specialist nuclear Prof from MIT you tit I just think when the subject matter is as serious as this you should try not to be alarmist if there is no need to be. If you are going to be alarmist, at least source it. Am not being arsey either, i'll happily discuss the possibility of alien involvement in the whole event with you later on but for now, lets be scientific.
  13. Is he? Fuck it then? Are there any other fat bastards I can have a motivational bet with then? That Paul Wyn could lose a few pounds. Everyone else treats their bodies as temples. I treat mine like a shed but i bought two pairs of slacks after work tonight and am a confirmed 31. Try Renton.
  14. Parky's initial 'man of the people' take on this was that it was whaling karma.

Not sure a drug free night out in Doncaster nowadays would look any better.

Check out the mysoginistic pigs telling women what to drink. Speaking of which (tenuous link-tastic), this was nice. Not sure about the label though.
  17. No name, quotes or source from Parky there. Informative.

  19. excellent article, though doesn't mention the plutonium mix scenario which seems to be the latest scare? Good article. Obscure prof in business mag says everything is cushty keeping buying shares in monkey nuts. let us keep the gold. So you post a link to business investor notes in the very next post Anyway this is why I hate the japs... (Reuters) – A 40-year-old nuclear reactor facing a possible meltdown in northeastern Japan was originally scheduled to go out of commission in February but had its operating license extended another 10 years. http://in.reuters.com/article/2011/03/13/i...-55540120110313 Henry Blodget from businessinsider just messaged me on twitter to say the author of the note was MIT prof Josef Oehmen. Thats me reassured anyway.
