Hi, I'm drinking Pinot Grigio at midnight on Tuesday
ChezGiven replied to Gene_Clark's topic in General Chat
Really? Semillon is enjoyed an appreciated here but generally it's a house of red wines. And although cellaring is near impossible in our house, at the moment there is a 1999 Wolf Blass Black Label, 2005 Zema Cluny & a few other early noughties reds (cab sav and cab blends) waiting to be drunk. The lass is on holidays atm, so a brilliant Two Paddocks Picnic Pinot Noir was a fine way to wash away a shitty day of work. I was taking the piss. About the pinot grigio, not about the cellar. -

I have a cellar. Got 18 bottles ready to drink this year which i put down 4 years ago. Mainly pinot grigio. -
Liverpool bid £35 million+ for Carroll

First touch was an 18 yard header on target. He lost the ball in deeper positions a couple of times but looked strong in the air, as you would expect basically. Certainly didnt look better than Zidane. -
NEWCASTLE HIT BACK IN NEW KEVIN KEEGAN ROW

Lawyers have a habit of speculating high, although realistically they [plaintiff & lawyer] know the chances of winning that quoted figure [whether by out-of-court settlement, or tribunal/court ruling] are slim to zero. A so-called speculative figure only serves the purpose of preventing any lower-end monies awarded from bottoming out. A common legal tactic. Special ASM related announcement: fu**in apology offered for using two brackets. Talking utter shite. The claims are based on Keegan's income with the club. The constructive dismissal claim, as in most cases, is based on lost income across the full contract and the full life-time earnings of the claimant. This is a court of law, not a negotiating table. Each figure claimed is precisely based on two variables, length of time and earnings per unit of time. "They went high as a negotiating tactic" is absolute nonsense. It is typical in all constructive dismissal cases to sue for life-time earnings if the nature of the claim threatens the claimants future in the industry. The judge ruled that KK was right to claim for contractual compensation but rejected the life time claim. The two judgements are made independently and figures in one claim have no influence on the type of justice handed out in another. To insinuate that the judge would be swayed by the high end of the claim to at least award a smaller amount more in line with what the claimant wants is perhaps the most specious argument i've seen on any toon board in the last 5 years. -
Eh? You had a roast dinner for lunch and then a rump steak later on? Isnt that loads? Jealous tbh.

Or you could just grow up.

general consensus about players leaving and being replaced.
ChezGiven replied to tinofbeans's topic in Newcastle Forum
So the general consensus is we're gonna get pissed on cheap beer? -
No. Personally I'd be interested in seeing this idea developed. I don't understand why there are 'brand' concerns with these sort of things. Respect the fact that fans want it to be left alone but doing prequels and sequels allows the world created by Dick/Scott etc to be further explored and developed. I'm a big fan of the original.

Have a look at a Thorens turntables Jonny, german precision engineering and all that. Depends what you want, Denon do perfectly adequate models at low prices. If you want to convert the vinyl into digital then get a USB one, if you want to scratch them, high torque vestax of technics You need to think about cartridges too, get Ortofons.

I get the feeling he actually enjoys being smug about what they're eating. I have been using the Bristol Stool Chart for years btw, I'm generally a type 4 paper saver. You use this OK, I'm at work and do not want to see that link! It basically means you wipe but there is no trace of it. Sign of a healthy digestive system. A ghost poo is a paper saver that disappears around the U bend before you even see it, so there is no evidence that you actually had it, apart from a sensation of lightness perhaps. Last couple of weeks havent been fantastic but i was literally doing them everyday for about a month recently.

First week of July. Its starting in the city centre this year, 12 hours to get out to Sandhamm on the edge of the archipelago and then about 350 miles to Gotland and back again. I take it you're a sailor then? no innuendo meant Used to be, my brother was 6-metre (classic class) world champion in 2007. An honour he won for Sweden. He's ok at it i suppose. We had a canny night out just after that. Toontastic summer piss-up?

that was standard in my early 20s. get back from the club 5-6am then get back to someone's house, hit the decks and smoke and drink until the pubs open, then plough on through until you drop some time the next morning. no way i could do it these days. the last time i got anywhere close was my week long stag do in ibiza a couple of years back. we had 3 massive nights and 2 big boozy nights in the space of a week. took me about a month to recover, which was apt given we'd probably consumed about 6 month's worth of booze etc in one week.

Went to Rockshots in 1989/90 for the first time, used to go there infrequently but often enough to know a few people. Went to the first Rezerections at the Mayfair in 91, then used to travel to the Hacienda, Rennaissance nights all over, Cream, Soak & Back to Basics in Leeds from 92-97. Then i moved to London.

It was more just a noise really but you've got the inane tone down to a tee.

who wants to be a fatty when you've got 100 people looking at your arse for half an hour? So you were fat before the wedding crash-diet?

Looking at ways. Just running a feasibility study on the whole thing at the minute. It's hungry, energy sapping work though. Could do with a takeaway to get me through. Supportive Cernt There's taking the piss out of someone as they make themselves a target and then taking the piss out of someone because it makes you feel better about yourself. Always important to make the distinction imo You've been hanging about with Parky too much. Not enough mate tbh. Actually, these topics have had a very positive effect since its got me thinking about training and sorting out my fitness. Am going to (hopefully) be doing the Gotland Run with my brother which is 5 days at sea on a mental racing yacht in the baltic.

Always important to make the distinction imo Better yet if you can combine the two for maximum efficiency, though. It's like doing cardio and weights in the same session. Well CT seems to take it on the chins so its fine in this case.

The credibility test for that is we kept the supposedly for sale players and sold those on the keep list -

Whys that? Have I missed something? Well there's loads of speculation about clubs being interested, there's been some about our looking for a replacement, at least one local journalist has intimated he's definitely away, he's stalled on signing a new contract, he's only got year on his current one. Nailed on he's off to Liverpool IMO. Basically we'll end up with all the Fernando Torres money and be devoid of two of our best players for the trouble. Wasnt the other 15m of the Torres fee to plug the difference between Babel and Suarez?
