  1. Looks a decent player every time i've seen him.
  2. The difference being that the club (not Ashley) now has money to spend and even Ashley must realise that any club stepping up needs to invest. Anyone who hasnt has failed.
  3. Do you think that £20m will include income from sales? If he does spend £20m on top of any sales then I'll start to believe he has the right idea. I dont think we will generate much in sales, as i said, Butt and Pancrate are out definitely and i reckon we will sell a striker since we need a new one to compete and we have 5 currently on the books.
  4. £40m increase in revenue, £20m in and the other £20m to cover losses this year. Something like that anyway.
  5. Nor is the midfield. Rotledge is the only one who could 'do a job' and Guti will be gone imo. Guti and Enrique will be playing here all next season. Is this where i demand a £2000 bet to prove how cocksure i am? I reckon if Jonas has a canny World Cup and we get a decent offer for him he would go. Big if like and i dont see many leaving after the graft they've put in to prove they are worthy of the premiership. I cant see him going to another prem club and so that leaves a move back to Spain. Cant see it myself.

  7. £20m net spend, Butt and Pancrate out and one player we want to keep who we can get a price for, probably Ranger. 4 players in, one right back, 2 midfielders and a striker. The Taylor/Carroll situation introduces a bit of uncertainty. If we keep them both, then we wont need a new CB. Whether its enough depends on whether Hughton is good enough. As i have pointed out before, the current midfield has more quality in it than many of the midfield line-ups we used last season.
  8. Will be nice to confirm it tonight but i think a lack of triumphalism is appropriate. Even if we win the league, its not something to go wild about. Its fantastic for the club, it means we have at least reversed some of the idiocy thats gone before but i certainly dont see it as any form of 'honour'. Ashley will spend £20m net in the summer imo, we will wait and see if its enough to keep us up. The uncertainty of next year has to temper any celebrations tonight.

    Hangovers

You have to start saving that sort of thing for special occasions. I should have a hangover as i had a load of Friesengeist last night, seems fine at the minute. Could be a slow burner. Those types of hangovers are cunts. Its canny gear and comes with some mental accessories. We had the clog and the two-inch frying pan to accompany the session. http://www.friesengeist.de/

Your sister shat on your living room floor in revenge for you throwing up all over the bathroom? I reckon it was the Big Black Dog. Lured him into a graveyard, then ran home to shit on his carpet.

  14. To be honest, i'd wait for the economists to analyse the cost implications, not the docs. "This is just like what happened in Massachussets and look what happened there" isnt an analysis, its polemic. They could be right though.
  15. Labour's election campaign will embrace Brown's image as aggressive and position him as hardman ready to have a bare knuckle fight with Cameron over Britain's future http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/ap...-brown-hard-man

  17. Simpson is not good enough for a prem first team, Hughton knows that.
  18. None at all but heres a site you may be interested in http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/ I do think its canny daft that people expect you to put money on the table because they cant accept your opinion. "You are wrong and you should either admit it or put money on your opinion". I dont always agree with you but thats a bit stupid. You can even hope ashley will invest enough money over the summer to give us a chance of staying up. It might be a forlorn hope but you're allowed to hope for it. Imo of course. And i am prepared to bet a tenner that this will be proved to be stupid in 5 years time.... when people grow up.

    Hangovers

I've stopped drinking beer during the week now. Apart from a glass or two of wine once or twice a week, i have cut right down. Mainly due to the impact of age and the increased responsibility at work, a hangover during the week nowadays writes off the next day.
  20. where are you going? you'll do well to get somewhere that you actually "miss" the world cup Florida. Could be canny to find a local sports bar for our first game, Toon top on, St George around my neck and rip the shit out of the locals while we rape the shit out of the yanks. Big place. Anywhere in particular? Our due dates the 24th, more experienced fathers than me seem to be suppressing laughter when i explain my plan of being off work in front of the telly, baby on knee, can of lager in one hand and betting slip in the other.
  21. Maybe he's been with his girlfriend so long that he refers to her as 'the wife'. Either that or the term 'wifey' got lost in translation As in French, wife and woman are interchangeable in Spanish. Femme (fr) or Mujer (sp) can mean both.
  22. I didnt. You played some decent stuff but you had 3 good moves in which the quality of the football was no better than the stuff we produced at our best. We had about 10 good moves. So on balance whilst looking good for periods of the game, it wasnt better than what we produced and there was less of it overall. This is bourne out by the stats too. 2-1 would have been a fair result and a better reflection of how you played i.e. didnt play well enough to get a draw. EDIT - 4 good moves, forgot Blackstock's miss.
  23. The Bullard connection is just a guess because Hughton went to watch Hull play.
  24. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/1...-benjamin-creme I guess this is the place for return of the messiah stories.
  25. Is that just a hunch Fish or based on us not getting someone you think was better?
