Surely the inspiration for a story about how a Republic became an empire is Julius Caesar? -
Market value. Price per share x Number of shares. Not a lot of leeway when ownership was spread about so many brokers. Shepherd was actively purchasing shares in the run up to the sale, this is sometime be referred to as 'buy-back' and can be used to reduce the supply of shares and keep the price at a certain level. There are many reasons for this but its often to do with a target price, which in turn comes from a need for investors to be comfortable with the product (the 'share' product - not the club).

Exciting news, if only i were 10 years younger.

And because the people of the islands consider themselves British and wanted protection from the Argies. The Falklands are like our own little south atlantic corner shop; a nice little earner, well established in the community but the owners are clearly 'not from round 'ere'.

Argentina's military capability is comprised of 30,000 gay hats with feathers in them, a tight fitting uniforms, a large flag and some trumpets. We'll be fine.

It was just too obvious imo - nothing wrong with making the point but the theme of "these things don't know any better" was just a bit over-played to the point where I just thought I'd ignore it and enjoy the action/swearing. The film was even set in South Africa ffs! I did enjoy on a certain level but that level was not much above the likes of Star Wars. Very silly really. As a Vietnam (and later Iraq) metaphor, Star Wars was probably more subtle, but I don't see why metaphor needs to be imperceptible to allow you to enjoy the film. "Only as good as Star Wars" is pretty high praise in the world of Sci-Fi though. I didn't say it was as good as Star Wars, I said I enjoyed it on the same level, i.e. fantastical nonsense (and overhyped). News to me that Star Wars was some deep metaphor for Vietnam mind. Perhaps it should have been set in Vietnam Which in turn makes Avatar all the more breathless by doing what Star Wars didnt. No US accents for the rebels in 2009. -
There is some evidence that the islands were visited by amero-indians buts its not evidence of a population. It was discovered by the Spanish, occupied by the British and the French and eventually became British. We nearly went to war with Spain over them in 1770. After the second world war, lots of the old empire became independent and the Argentinians took this opportunity to claim sovereignty over the islands, so the British offered to take the dispute to the international courts. We offered 3 times and each times the Argies refused to have it settled there. This is because it was an American on behalf of the "River Plate" authorities who made their claim. This was 60 years after the Spanish and British had disputed ownership. River Plate was just establishing itself and wanted fishing rights to strengthen itself as a fledgling nation. As their country didnt really exist when the Brits and the Spanish first made claims on it, maybe the Argies thought the international courts would not likely rule in its favour. So they decided comical and over the top military posturing was the way to go, a cornerstone of their foreign policy in the 20th century.

Did the recession stop him from appointing a decent manager after KK left?

Oh and crongratulations mate, sure you'll be very happy

I reckon thats all bollocks, men love to join in the joke about the old 'ball and chain', 'er indoors', the one who must be obeyed, just nod and agree for an easy life etc etc. Imo, thats because we all have latent oedipus complexes and want 'mother' to be in charge like when we were little boys. Plenty of men (real men) are kind, loving, fair and importantly in charge. The way it should be. (I'm not saying i do any of this btw.)

Its good that, seen it a couple of years back but as usual found it hard as fuck to follow properly with all the complex plot twists. Should try and re-watch it with subtitles. -
If we were 130m in debt last year, doubt we've paid much off whilst being in the championship. The only positives i can see at the moment is that the players who left last year were all massively overpaid for their ability, if we hadnt gone down, many would still be leeching the club of money. The wage bill should be down to somewhere around 40m which if we get promoted means we have some room for manoeuvre in attracting new players. I have to say there is a lot to be said for stability and continuity, 2 new midfielders and a striker at a minimum and i'd be interested to see how we do under Hughton.

Does my wum look big in this?

End of this month I think. Loan finishes after Watford, Hughton considering extending it but hasnt asked Chelsea yet.

I wonder if NICE will approve my new cancer drug because i 'believe' its cost-effective? Fucking disgrace in this day and age.

On further reading, the woman who leaked the stuff from the charity has connections to the Tory party, so there may be a bit more to this than meets the eye.

Shouting and screaming to get people to do what you want is, for me, a direct subsitute for charm, charisma and the powers of persuasion (i'm not saying i have any of those btw). Our Prime Minister should be all that, Brown may have had the ambition and the desire for the top job but for me is the perfect example of the Peter Principle. This principle states that everyone is promoted to their level of incompetence. Brown was a good chancellor but not Prime Minister material. Good HR development people will tell you that everyone needs to understand that there is a ceiling above which you should not rise. Not everyone CAN be the CEO of a company, very few have the requisite characteristics. The problem in politics is that there is no HR department to assess personal ability for the top role.

His behaviour was bad enough that the head of the civil service had to give him a warning about it. Imagine how shitty his behaviour must have been to warrant that response, not exactly something done lightly. I've seen bullying in high pressure/stressful situations and no matter how funny the thick of it looks, i reckon the fact that someone has worked hard enough to get to a position in the heart of government, they deserve respect, not disdain. I think this shows him up as the charmless cunt that he is. I'm a demanding boss and make people work hard but i'd never be disrespectful.

This suicide plane crash into a government building

The months of waiting for clearance to fly his plane in domestic airspace without a flight plan must have built up the frustration too.
