  1. There's no such thing as Santa Barbra Chablis. It's a town in France and an AOC meaning only wine made in that town is allowed to use the name. It is confusing wine terminology tbf.
  2. Information wants to be free.
  3. Merlot and Chardonnay are types of grapes. Chablis is an AOC and a village in the north of Bourgogne and the grape that grows there is Chardonnay. It tends to be unoaked and is therefore acidic and fresh rather than fruity and oaked. The top Chablis does get some oak treatment but it's usually fermented in steel vats which allows it to retain a mineral taste. It's by far my favourite white wine. The Grand Crus are very reasonable at around 50 a bottle, I have 6 ageing until 2017-2020. Don't know much about Aus wine but that Wolf Blass is oaked and fruity which is a different style to a Chablis.

Simultaneous shitting like a hot tap and puking just before take off. Horrendous scenes in that bog.

Will the censors pick up a follow through? Seems a bit harsh to be given a fine on top of only slightly shitting yourself and not causing a mess. Far more common than you think.

  7. I think Wijnaldum is what you would call an experienced quality player.
  8. Electronic music is the only dynamic form of music and if there is a 'punk' ethos, it lives on in the underground forms of modern dance.
  9. Rave is more alive today because of the US than at any other time in history. Not bad for a music scene based on sampling hoovers and sticking vicks up your nose.
  10. Mike Pickering was a Motown / Northern Soul fan who played in punk bands in the 70s, managed bands in Manchester and put on New Order's second gig after Ian died. Punk was important but its greatest legacy in how we dress, not how we live or what we listen to.
  11. Exactly. I was just coming back to say that. "Rick Wakeman eat your hear out"
  12. What did punk revolt against? Thatcher? You need to check your dates. Punk was dressing up and taking shit drugs and petered out after 2 or 3 years. Rave was dressing up and taking great drugs and has lasted 3 decades. Rave > punk. I am old enough to remember punk too.
  13. eventually agreed with Dad so he would stfu.
  14. The Rave scene was far more 'punk' than the punk scene.
  15. Isn't that the problem with post-modernism?

All this chat about hangovers from wankers in their late 30s and early 40s and that Lord Sewel is dressing up in birds clothes, drinking like a trooper off his tits on coke at the age of 69.
  18. Some analysis of McClaren's formations at Twente includes a 4-4-1-1 in which case we could see De Jong behind Mitrovich with the rest in a 4. http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/05/05/steve-mcclaren-twente-tactics/

The most expensive wine in the world is a Sauternes. A glass of Chateau Yqem is a magic treat, should be at nearly a grand a bottle.

Got 3 bottles of that Banyuls in the cellar, the apogee is not for another 3 years so you will have to wait for the tasting notes.

If Gloom doesnt like Sauternes, he's not doing it right.

This is a rare but good sweet red that goes lush with chocolate. Typical to put it with the chocolate 'log' at Christmas (sniggers). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banyuls_AOC " These wines are typical examples of Banyuls - they have great balance and youthfulness. The red fruit flavours marrry well with – the full bodied nature of the wine and the smooth grenache tannins also mask the residual sugar, often found in excess in sweet wines. This rich character gives them a rare "drinkability" much loved by gourmands. The wine goes very well with chocolate, Banyuls and Chocolate being a famous food and wine match. The tannins found in cocoa and those found in the grenache grape are very similar! Other food matches are Gorgonzola, red fruit salad in Spring and fresh figs with plum purée in Autumn. Old parcels planted with mostly Grenache Noir and carignan" http://www.la-rectorie.com/mutes.htm
