Don't think you would meet any animosity whatsoever being German on holiday in Greece. One of the managers from the German team was there earlier this year, not a problem. Greek people are lovely and as a tourist you are going to be meeting people who depend on tourism for their livelihood and everyone of them is going to be delighted to see you.

Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)
ChezGiven replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
He wasnt really expressing an opinion, he was expressing optimism. The brain as we know has 2 systems for thinking, fast and intuitive and slow and deliberative, as famously framed by Daniel Kahneman, Optimism is intuitive and can reflect a person's disposition but also their instinctive reaction. You were asking him to explain his optimism which would require him to engage 'system 2' as the rational, deliberative thinking system which gives structured reasoning for positions and decisions. Not sure CT has a system 2. -

Its funny but I haven't even thought about using this on my laptop. Not updated iTunes for ages, I've got smart playlists set up that don't require me to open iTunes but I do most of my lists on the fly now. Anyway, don't see the point in worrying about itunes, the app is fun enough from my phone. For an Apple user it's better than Spotify so I think it's hit the mark. Will get better with time too.

Some 'stuff'?

You could do all that in Apple Music if your work pc had iTunes I think. Plus you could transfer new albums to listen to them in full and download them for offline listening. I guess the way you do it costs nothing though rather than a tenner a month. I'm happy to pay the tenner for unlimited downloading of new albums and the fact that it's integrated through the cloud on everything. Apart from my work pc obviously.

Thing which most pissed me off this weekend: Merkel leaking her comments about Tsipras being 'hard and ideological'. How ironic given Tsipras points to the hard evidence of 5 years of recession as the reason to reject austerity and Merkel's policy is based on an economic prediction now universally refuted, no evidence from anywhere it works and a hope for the return to growth based on what we now call the 'confidence fairies'. Ideological indeed you daft frau.

I think the resignation of Varoufakis suggests it is the bargaining chip they were hoping for as they clearly intend to use this to try to get a better deal. Whether they will remains to be seen, the creditors were never going to signal anything else pre-referendum. Some of the best academic game-theorists went on to become very successful poker players.
-
Also, their debt is unsustainable and austerity wont solve it so this mornings escalating bond yields are as much the fault of Merkel and the financial leaders than the Greeks saying 'enough of this shit which clearly isn't working'.
-
If you change that to 'fund globally unprecedented amounts of money on the nazi war machine' then you could pose the same question to the Germans. The Greeks voted for their debt cancellation in 1953 to allow the country to recover after WW2. Which was a bit more 'their fault' than the current Greek crisis.
-
In what way and why? I really can't call this until we see how the creditors respond tomorrow. If this prompts a deal that is better than Greece was offered then it may be a lot better for Greeks. Right now the message is the deal won't be better but Tsipras called this referendum because he wanted it for the next phase of the negotiation. Now that he has it, we have to expect some stronger bargaining and more nervousness from the finance ministers whose corporate sponsors will be feeling more and more edgy as market volatility kicks in. How do you see if playing out? Varoufakis's game-theory would have led them to here so I think the Greeks have an outcome in mind.

I'm thinking of moving into politics.

Aye different markets is not really true, I meant different segments and of course Apple will want to attract over Spotify customers but in the business plan, the one they based their investment on, there will be no spotify customers in that calculation. It's all about converting download purchasers from the store into subscribers. I'm more of a shareholder than a fanboy to be fair too.

It took me to episode 3 to get into it, the NY times reviewer reckons it was episode 4. Give it time but if you don't like it by episode 5, I owe you 5 hours of your life. I think i can afford that. http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/07/01/the-moment-i-realized-sense8-was-the-best-show-on-netflix-3350369?lt_source=external,manual

I thought the same, it does come together after a few episodes. Am not going to explain it obviously. The line about art being like religion in episode 5 (?) sums it up. For those who believe, it means everything, to those that don't it's a load of shite. I took that as meaning those in the audience who could suspend their disbelief and believe in the premise.

Different markets. Spotify is for people who don't pay for music on the whole whereas the Apple music store has paying download customers as its core. This service will transfer all the people who spent anything from 30 to 50 plus per year in downloads thinking 120 gets me access to everything. The difference between Apple and everyone else is the ease of use and integration into all your devices. I think Apple will have a massive amount of paying subscribers within the year. If 120 million iTunes users subscribe that will mean more revenue than the entire global music industry as of today. I think they will do it, maybe not within 12 months but eventually.

Along with Frankie Valli became synonymous with taking a valium after a massive pill session. As in "fucking hell them gary's are strong, need a bit of Val Doonican before i go to bed". RIP.
