They've looked finished as a motivated group of professionals since January. Pardew has admitted this. Half a dozen new faces have failed to produce any difference. If Ashley doesn't sack him in the next 10 days it'll cost him a lot more come January. -

The vote is going to change a lot of things in the medium term I think. Within a decade I think Westminster will be almost exclusively an English parliament. Whether it's still in the EU is a bigger question. I think a "yes" on Thursday guarantees a lurch to the right in England and whoever is in charge of the Tories next year having to promise a vote on coming out as Cameron has mentioned, then apparently went back on.

Is Pardew safe till Christmas then? Because if Ashley doesn't act now it'll cost him 20+ million (?) to get players in January that will keep us in the division and a new manager. That doesn't make sense. -
Thing is, Salmons largely won anyway. Politics is about compromise a lot of the time and the compromise here appears to be he can have everything he wants but he's not being allowed to tear up the Union Jack. Fair do's Eck, now sod off and get on with running your kingdom.

Theres dozens of things that appeal about Scottish independance. However, I cant help thinking that the corporate "masters of the universe" are lying in wait to give a new nation an almighty slap. Theres spin and half truths,bluster and bullshit on both sides. But to a large extent its not the politicians that the electorate need to worry (too much) about.

The likely outcome of a yes vote is not much difference tbh.....until EU member Scotland suddenly has a non EU member state on its southern border....England is following the rest of Europe in lurching to the right, and once Farage is finished annhilating Cameron and the Tories for "losing the union" he'll then turn the argument round so England gets its referendum on EU membership and suddenly we live in very, very different countries.

Questions for JJ and topcat: 1 in the event of a yes vote, if various corporates carry out their threat and up sticks and move south, say with the loss of 5000 Scottish jobs, will it all be worth it? 2 if its yes, do you vote SNP at the first Scottish general election, and have Alex Salmon as Idi Amin's successor?

In general, its the under 45s, I.T. literate, more likely to get "information" from the web v over 50s, by nature cautious and thrifty, culturally and emotionally more likely to be tied to the idea of the UK. Oh and try to be a bit more patronising the next time you post in this thread, the porridge wogs love that sort of thing
