  1. Strangely, I've got a good feeling about this....I think we might get 4 points this week....Arsenal at Stoke today, but Stoke aren't the side they were 18 months ago, weve twatted them twice this season. A win today and a win for manu on Monday would be a great weekends work. Wigan have been ok lately, but the reason why theyre down the bottom is inconsistancy. I bet every relegated side has looked like Brazil once or twice in the season. last week brought them back to earth with a bump and I think they'll stay there.

  2. It's very simple to me. Who is this forum for? I'd like to think it's for the posters and if a qualified majority of posters want something done or someone removed for the good of the forum then it should be done. I don't get what is 'going on behind the scenes' and tbh I think it's completely pointless given that Ant and Tom are the only members of the admin/mod team who seem to post regularly in the football forum. Leazes is a cancer and unless he is removed then this forum will continue to struggle.

Tell you what mate, your posts aren't melodramatic enough for me.

Dont ban anyone, put Leazes and Gemmill in a private forum. They really enjoy having a go at each other so let them get on with it.

  3. For the first time in a number of years, the Club has also put in place a waiting list for the rest of the ground,

fuckin hell, wait till the mackems see that

got to say I'm a bit surprised by it too.....is this those who have jacked having second thoughts?....oh ye of little faith! (that includes me btw, but I'm a chairman's wet dream, put up with any old shite, just moan from the stands about it ;) )

  4. Gemmill, what makes you physically incapable of ignoring Leazes posts? If you're setting yourself up as the good side of this petty little feud, show some of your (allgeded) good sense and ignore the bloke? I really want to know why you're incabable of this? are you both in the same ward in the RVI rattling away at keyboards like demented gibbons, taking your meals through a straw?

  5. I think we will add the finishing touches giving us a solid squad to start next season with. I think everyone (who we want to stay) wil stay bar Ba. We will start next season even stronger and either win or just miss out on the title. We will have a strong lead by Christmas and Pardew will hopefully see us home. Marveaux will be orgasmic. Ferguson ;) will be our super sub. Mike Ashley will again swill lager in the local pubs. We wont do anything in the January window as we will be fine.

500 mg Prozac tabs on a GP's perscription in Boldon this week I reckon ;)

  6. Fair enough - I haven't read all the bloggers. I just said it seemed to me to be fairly negative. Sorry if I misrepresented you. Reading my piece again, obviously it's way over the top in some ways but at least it got a reaction. I question your comment about "the sentiment of the fans" - if you're suggesting that's your view. Ashley might be about to deliver the best season for about 10 years - with hopefully more to come - what's the issue with sentiments? I'm quite happy. I suppose you mean things like the Sports Direct Arena etc - who on earth cares about that? It's St James Park as far as we're all concerned and always will be. In my time, the old Leazes End went and after about 50 years was re-built; the Popular side disappeared and we got the New East Stand; the old press box and paddocks went the same way and even the open-topped Gallowgate end was re-built. You could say it's not the same ground we (my generation of supporters. that is) went to in the early 1970s - not a brick of it remains. But it is the same. The Leazes End is still the Leazes End, the Gallowgate the Gallowgate and so on. It's still St James Park. What are the other issues with sentiments? Falling out with Keegan? Good thing. Not appointing Shearer. Very good thing. Sacking Hughton? Regrettable but a good thing. The only sentiment I'm bothered about is how I'll feel when we get into the Champions League, or the Europa League. And who cares if he runs the club like a corporation? You might argue that that's the only way to do it nowadays, sadly. Anyway, I'd be interested in your views!

Ashley isnt paying a penny for the err "re branding" of a football ground thats had the same name since Victorian times. It may mean fuck all to you old son but whats the fuckin point of doing it in return for nothing? Llambias greetin on about "maximising revenues" etc but misses that one off the list. Apart from that its been a great season :D

  7. Does your boss generally get on with folk from a different ethnic background on a professional basis Stevie?...seeing as you're in recruitment if he doesnt then he's probably breaking the law.

Thats what the Doc means I think....I know loads who would say something like your boss did, but when it comes down to it they dont have a fundamental problem with folks of a different skin colour. Rightly or wrongly, thats the way a lot of folk are. Whether that actually makes them "prejudiced" as you highlighted is another question. For me though your boss is on rocky ground talking about folk like that in your game, privately or not.

Casual everyday racism or prejudice is pretty commonplace all over the UK iyam. Not sure if that means those who do are racist either. Tricky one, like Big Ron being a pioneer for black players in the 70s then saying that about Desailly. Two sides to it. Horrible, hateful thing to say, but the likes of Batson still regard him as a friend and mentor.
