Agreed. The collaborating bastards were so eager to please the Hun none of their wonderful city was bombed during WW2 so large parts of it are old, quaint and utterly fabulous. Old Rotterdam was destroyed in about half an hour by the Luftwaffe and is now a concrete shithole. But they did call a general strike in support of the Jews. Strange lot, the cloggies...

According to an Italian journo on 5live earlier he was promised money for new players in the summer...the money wasnt forthcoming for January either and he found out via an interview Moratti gave to the press....so he goes and wins the world club championship at the weekend and thinks he's now in a posistion of strength to start shouting the odds about getting new players in....wrong again Rafa!

Click on the link in her entry in the top ten and they do mention that sorry episode as well. And that she's a mackem. And that she fuckin hates us. And the theory that the Guardian website use her utter uselessness as a journo to provoke reaction from readers and thus hits on their website from those who comment on her articles

Does this involve wartime appearances? At risk of blasphemy, was it the Unwashed? Aye... on both accounts Played twice for Sunderland during 1944/45. Albert Stubbins did too a few years earlier and scored a wartime cup final goal for them! Check out the bottom of this section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyne-Wear_der...sing_the_Divide For Wor Jackie's admission of favouring the Mackems as a kid, look here: http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...-name_page.html Thing is, there are pockets of mackems all over Northumberland...theres a pub in Seahouses thats a shrine to the filthy fuckers and Berwick is chocka with them. Someone once told me it was something to do with them being from County Durham and the influence that Durham Cathedral had all the way up to Scotland. Fuck knows if its true and how its supposed to work but this bloke (I think he was a Berwick mackem himself) reckoned that was why. Maybe the Milburns/Charltons were part of that clique because Bobby Charlton has said he watched them as a kid too, although he stops short of saying he supported them. It was in his last book.

Aye just checked - he did start there. Clue for this other fella, he played for Sir Bobby at Portman Road between his stints at the Merseyside clubs. John Wark?

Which is the only team to have played in the Premier League, the old old Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Divisions 3 South and 3 North?
-
Mick Channon, Alan Ball, Kevin Keegan, Peter Shilton, Dave Watson and Mark Wright in 1982. Mick Mills joined in November 1982 after Kevin Keegan left, so that would have been 7.

Which side at one time had six past, present and future England captains in the same team, and in which year? Not a team you'd think of....they were a Division One side for a long time but are now languishing in the lower leagues. Not exactly a hotbed of football, we didnt have a great record there either...

Spot on....famous-ish (much underrated) striker, also played for Barca Must be Archibald then (Craig already got it) as he played for Barca. Fuck knows how you verify summat like that now (unless someones got it on vhs), but that is a class question if it's right! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lp4m0N39Do sadly theyve cut Bates from the spurs song which would give definitive proof but he's there in both...the Scotland one is so fuckin awful it's brilliant
-
That would suggest 1982. Spurs and QPR were the cup finalists... Steve Archibald? Sorry mate didnt see that aye Steve Archibald...once hoyed a chair at Fergie

No, its a "know it or dont know it" question like....as I say, he wasnt at Aberdeen at the time and it wasnt Aberdeen anyway....what other teams wouldve had a record out in 82?...its a very shrewdly worded question..
-
Quality question That's got to be someone for the Scotland 78 World Cup squad shirley? No, little bit later.... Willie Miller? Pure guess like. Either him or one of Alex McLeish, Mark McGhee or Eric Black No, but the world cup thing was on the right tracks....why else would a footballer appear on totp if it wasnt a world cup record?....he was "performing" both times too....

Youre spot on with your theory, I think he may have even played in a world cup before Pele made his debut... If he scored in 1950 I demand a recount as there wasn't a final, strictly speaking, in 1950 PEDANTS CORNER! Brazil played Sweden after a round robin, but they were one and two in the mini league only seperated by a point, the last game was between those two. In 1958 there was a final, aye. In 1950 There was a final group of 4. It just so happened the decider was the final game between Brazil and Uruguay. If it had been a draw after 90 mins, Brazil would've won the trophy. When was Sweden then?...54? I think Sweden was '58, wasn't it? Brazil beat them in the final. West Germany beat Hungary (the latter being red hot favourites) in '54. Was that in Switzerland? I think it was anyway. I think the 1950 is the only World Cup without a 'final', even if it was, in effect, a final. No youre spot on, but I think it was the same thing in 58, where it was the last game of a round robin mini league thing.
