If we've got up to half a dozen (a majority possibly French/continental) players with no previous premier league experiance in January then survival will be a fuckin miracle. I had a horiffic thought a few weeks ago but have kept it to myself so's not to tempt fate but with all the usual suspects being earmarked for a move it crossed my mind that Collocini could be just the sort Arsenal are looking for.... he's done 3 seasons in English football, comfortable on the ball, and he's better than anything theyve got, bar possibly Vermaelen.

I went to Hyena's on Friday night as part of a stag do pacakage....they seemed to have a strict "no mobiles/no talking during acts/ no heckling policy...to be fair its a few years since I've been to any comedy club but is this the way most have gone? ....the compare was a complete knob end who was about as funny as a dose of the crabs (single syllable name, southerner, fancied himself as some sort of modern day hippy) The first act was probably pretty good but he talked in broad Glaswegian, which led to the mainly southern English crowd starting to talk among themsleves, which then led to two lads getting fuckin ejected! I couldnt beleive it...he had a single syllable name too, big bloke with a beard. The last act was apparently quite funny to most of the crowd, making rude words and nosies from various "speak and spell" type childrens toys...he was funny apart from that actually, biggish bald bloke. Sorry about not having any nmaes, Friday night was a long time and much alcohol ago

Is Michael Owen an Agent of Evil?
PaddockLad replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Good post. Might have to look that book out. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Father-Other-Worki...s/dp/0224072676 I know Leazes got it a while ago, don't know what he thought but if you're in any way a bit of a traditionalist Doc you'll probably enjoy it. One of the best books I've ever read, on any subject. -
Is Michael Owen an Agent of Evil?
PaddockLad replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
All the old pros from the last 50 years who had as much or even more talent and who are living on fuck all or having to talk cobblers to the media to get by will probably fuckin cry if they see that comment. I've mentioned Gary Imlach's book about his old man's football career before and theres a relevent passage in it when Imlach senior signs for 3rd division Crystal Palace in the early sixties, after world cups and FA cup finals earlier in his career. A local reporter asks him if he feels its a bit of a comedown to sign for lowly Palace and the player doesn't understand the premise of the enquiry: "Stupid bloody question!"...."if you have the oppurtunity to play and the ability to play, then why wouldnt you play?" This from a player who was willing to go on strike a few years earlier to get the maximum wage (£20 a week in the season, less in the summer) abolished, which the likes of Owen have benefited from in an incredible way, the fuckin spoilt bastard. -
Fuck Clarkie and fuck his dirty cheating mackem cretin Kilbane

I do agree but they're as capable of getting results as any Man Utd team, they're just not as easy on the eye. Also following on from your point I'd say that it sums the state of world football up presently, that this Barcelona team are being described as the greatest team ever by the clueless masses. no way are they as good as the Ajax team of the early 70's Was thinking about this last night.....3 champions league wins in 5 years for Barca, next year they must be pretty well odds on to make it 4 in 6....I sort of agree with you, but Barca must be up there with them. There was an article in some paper last week with a former player of Manu saying they could hurt Barca in the air from corners.....so Barca didn't concede any! That sort of ability is the mark of a truly exceptional side, who are more than living up to all the hype.

4 million for a 29 year old in the last year of his contract from a club in a distinctly worse financial situation than us? If Moyes goes to Villa Everton are nowt more than a championship side. Karl Henry?...better off with his brother Lenny. Tranquillo Barnetta?...... fuckin hell think I'll go back to bed...

Why do the outer suburbs of Liverpool certainly appear to be completely boarded up? I'm an away season ticket holder and sadly there is nowhere else to compare to that depressing spectacle in any other major city we have visisted in the last few seasons...and it seems that its been that way in Liverpool for years tbh. I understand urban regeneration and its gone on in other major cities for the last 3 decades, but why are there huge swathes of your city condemned in the 21st century?

Very sad indeed..always wanted to see him live. His old man played for Celtic in the 50s.

What are we doing re-signing Lee Bowyer!!!!!

Villa release Carew and Pires too Will we at last see the only player that I'm aware of to say a polite but firm "non" to KK in a black and white shirt? Carew...Scandinavian, but from immigrant stock....wonder if Dekka is thinking "Well, the crowd seemed to take to Kuqi..." -
So why cant we see the other half of these "converstions"....have we just got to guess whats being said? As for Morgan.....lucky to keep his job at the Mirror when he used inside information to make money on the stock market, he stabbed his 2 financial desk journos in the back for that one. He couldnt however survive prinitng fake pictures of British squaddies in Iraq abusing detainees. Cunt of the first order.

I was going to put Sparky on the poll but I didn't think anyone on here was suitably qualified. ooh touche, chemical ali you around next weekend?....in town for a stag do Friday and Saturday...the lads from down here need a guide to find some semi comatose charva birds in the sort of clubs where you wipe your feet on the way out...I know you'll be able to help out there

Shame on you Howman, no shipyard/engineering shop/construction option...call yourself a son of the Tyne? pity the shipyard I'm currently employed in is 300 odd miles away in fuckin Pompey like currently working on the much maligned new aircraft carriers for the RN....around 3000 poor souls from variously Tyneside, Wearside, Teeside, Merseyside and Clydeside all being kept from the dole queues by the grace of the Rt Hon G Brown, who has fixed it for the carriers to be joined up,serviced and operated from his own constituencey in the Kingdom of Fife at Rosyth...gawd bless ya guv'nor oh and its a job I suppose...neither good nor bad..

Am fuckin furious as it goes....I bought my gf flat 11 years ago and the fuckin arsehole upstairs informed me last week that he has rights over my parking space and a strip of land at the back, which isnt much but is a "back garden" of sorts...taken him 4 years to tell me, his flat has been sold twice in the 11 years I've been here and nothing had come up until now. So he was told that this was stupid, it would end up in court and he'd end up feeling fuckin stupid and hed be out of pocket too. Spoke to a solicitor today and the prick upstairs is right...I was badly advised by the conveyancers when I bought it, who just happen to be my girlfriends present employers, so a claim against them would be a bit tricky

I think its a bit of a ploy on Mckay's part as well.....last throw of the dice? It's probably 75-25 that he won't sign and will play next season out and leave, maybe for a foreign club as he can speak to them in January 2012. But I think that this isn't terminal; I think he genuinely wants to stay but at the same time he's the same as any of us...how many of us would hang around if our employers were saying that they were going to cut our wages in half (at least, according to what we hear) when we know we could be on a better deal elsewhere? Having said that, there may still be a compromise that can be reached. Unless they just want him out of the club anyway. If Pardew is a true "football man" he'll know and understand Barton's value to the club on the pitch...I suppose it depends just how much of a puppet our manager really is as to whether he goes into bat on Barton's behalf. and how much of an influence he has if he does so anyway. I won't hold my breath on that one mind. Bottom line is, as many have said in this thread, it just shows we're owned and run by a pair of fuckwits who know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

Aye, he's done well...not sure if he's even turned 40 yet? Eddie Mitchell is Bournemouths owner and has gone above and beyond the call of duty in trying to stop the team from getting promoted this season...he got rid of the 2 best strikers and let the other best young manager in the country Eddie Howe go to Burnley in mid season. Bournemouth have missed two from 4 so far, looks like he'll get his wish
-
yeah but it was for kicking ex mackem shitehouse Kevin Kilbane....should get a medal for that if you ask me 3 mins left, looking like pens....
-
Bournemouth and Huddersfiled drawing 3 each at the Galpharm, 4 each on aggregate...2 goals for Bournemouth from Steve Lovell, who's bird I read today is Amy Macdonald, who apparently has sold 3 million albums and I'd never heard of her...is she any good?

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition
PaddockLad replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Is this sort of indirectly linked to the Neil Lennon shennanigans?... Are Ferguson and all the lads listed in the article Catholics? Shame if thats the case. Or I may be reading too much into it. Damn this fence is getting sore... -
Just goes to show how great our youth system is. I mean I know the lack of ambition this shows our board have etc etc etc... but can we ignore that for once and just appreciate the way our club is bringing up some excellent youth. The same was said of all the young uns at Boro a few years back....they sold the best and the ones that remained weren't good (or maybe experianced?) enough to keep them in the Prem. The ones who played yeaterday did ok, but it was basically little more than a training ground game for Chelsea. Ferguson looks ok, but anyone who thinks he's more than Wayne Routlegde with a left foot is mistaken if you ask me. Too small, to make it at the top with his build nowadays you need to be in the Messi/Iniesta mould and I dont think anyone would claim he's got the potential to be that good. Not seen enough of the rest to form any worthwhile opinion.

Testimonial today for former Boro player Gary Parkinson who was coach at Blackpool until he had a massive stroke in October, which has left him with locked in syndrome, where his bed ridden and unable to communicate with anyone. Best wishes to him and his family. http://www.garyparky.co.uk/#
