FYP. We've no idea why he appointed Pardoo, have we? ??? We dont but he obviously thinks he's better, hence the appointment? Better in what sense? His appointment could be for any number of non-footballing reasons - he's a good mate - he's not black - Ashley wants a bastard in charge - Ashley wants a disciplinarian - he won't challenge Ashley - he will allow players to be sold - Ashley likes cocky people - he owes Ashley - he's compliant - he won't make demands for resources etc. We don't know why he's appointed Pardew, we don't know anything about it. What's obvious is that he doesn't have a superior record football wise to Hughton. In fact he's been sacked from his last 3 jobs. So on a footballing level it makes no sense whatsoever, which is all I really care about. I realise you were talking about 'better' from Ashley's perspective, but I don't think that's necessarily a positive thing and we haven't a clue what has motivated this move anyway. as far as I'm concerned it's almost exclusively because he's Ashley's mate, maybe he thinks he can have even more influence on what's going on at the club through Pardew than he could with CH, ie the buying and selling of players and so on.

I lived in Finland for a while not long ago, all education is completely free to anyone from the eu for all levels, primary, secondary, third and masters etc there. I can understand the protests in the UK, obviously violence only does their own cause harm but still, the anti-student sentiment is a bit much, I think the UK has the highest fees in the eu currently, I might be wrong there though.

I don't get the whole "not showbusiness enough" slant on this, very few managers of any quality (ie Mourinho) would be what you'd call flashy or headline grabbing in the way Bird is alluding to. On top of that, they forced Keegan out who fits that bill perfectly! The whole thing is a contradiction, those sort of managers don't put up with the likes of Ashley, it's the quite guys like Hughton who do and he still got sacked.

FOP was Pardew seriously though, if Pardew is the new manager, I am not going to think about football for a few weeks, it's just too painful.

The number of managers who have been either sacked or forced out at this club when virtually everyone except the owners were behind them is disgraceful and very depressing.

I feel terribly sorry for Chris Hughton, he's had to put up with a lot of shit in his career and just as he seems to be doing really well for himself gaining everyones respect the fucking moron running the club does this. What's more is it simply doesn't make sense, from any point of view you can think of apart from MA having someone amazing lined up as his replacement (which obviously isn't the case and would still be extremely disrespectful to CH anyway).

If McClaren gets it, I'm looking forward to hearing his geordie accent...
